Bonjour.
Amazing. I can't believe the amount of weight on top of that house. I would love to have the ceiling exposed to appreciate the complex nature of that masterpiece.
Traditional Korean houses secure structural stability by placing a large amount of weight on the roof. Traditional Korean houses have dirt on the roof instead of insulation. If that happens, the weight will increase by 20 to 50 tons. Part of the roof can be seen from the living room. As always, thank you for watching.
I thought this was for a museum or art gallery. I can’t believe the amount of detail and structure put in for a residential house. It’s going to be standing for hundreds of years.
Looks great! I am thankful for your channel...there was a lack of Korean traditional construction on UA-cam until you came along. I really want to build something like this for my (Korean) wife in the states. I think I have the skills (albeit significantly slower), but getting the correct blue smoke roof tiles would be an issue. Maybe the container shipping rates from Korea to the US has decreased significantly in the last couple of years (they went nuts during the flu)? I could go with the metal tile sheets, but that looks like shit. Would rather have the real deal. Maybe I'll just hire you guys to build us one there. I can't do it myself in Korea. It's way too complex as far as tools, supplies, permitting, etc for a non native. At least they now have a few Ace Hardware stores in the Seoul area lol.

Our team strives to build strong homes that will last for hundreds of years, with the mindset of a homeowner.

It is a beautiful roof. But very complicated. This is much more difficult to build than the roofs I have built in Canada.
you're right. Korean houses have curves.
So, it's difficult.
Should last at least a few hundred years 😮❤
thank you

한옥 fits the landscape of Korea beautifully. Western style homes just don't match.
Thank you 😊.
상관 없습니다. 습관이 돼서요^^;;
