My best friend of over a decade passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago. This was the song he always loved and had said if he ever died, should be his funeral song. I played it to him at the funeral home standing over him so he'd hear it one last time. I never appreciated this song as much as I do now.
This is damn sad man; and yet tragically beautiful. Every time you hear this incredibly soulful piece, you know your best friend will always be with you!
I was 21 when I dedicated this song to the lover I had back then, we were at the beach it was night and we went to sleep together, next to the fire, listening to music cuddling naked in bed. It was such a bliss to find a song that could tell him how I felt for him, the sounds taking all my insides out for him to hear, it was such a reveal. I wanted it all with that dude, I found him so fascinating. Now I'm 25 and he stopped loving me. I realised all the love I tried to give or transmit with this piece came back to me. I now dedicate my love to myself. And I feel so magical for being able to hold such love for someone else. This song will forever be the souvenir of that experience❤️.

My bf died almost two weeks ago now. On the last saturday we spent together we stood in the car outside his house and listened to this song, it felt like magic :*
This song's reputation grows with each passing year. If humanity is still around at the end of the twenty-first century, this might be the only song from the first decade that anyone will even know. Most pop songs are ephemeral but this is timeless.
😪 A very good friend of mine (best man at 1st wedding) passed away recently, after a short battle with cancer, knew him all my adult life, we spent a great summer djing in Corfu, and shortly after while going through his many many House and dance tunes with his son, I was amazed to find this, I also have on vinyl, but I didn't know he even knew the song or liked it, we listened to it with some of his family, there where tears... now I shall have this at my funeral ❤
When my nan died on her kitchen floor in front of me. I went back to clear her house and this was on the radio . Made me think of our good times . Reminds me of her
Pourquoi cette musique me fait penser, à chaque fois, à mon grand amour perdu...tous les souvenirs avec elle me reviennent à chaque fois, et je regrette tout...
When your heart gets hit with the chills... Love this masterpiece. Shout out to the late master drummer Tony Allen laying down his crazy Afrobeat rhythm over this. RIP Sir!
Its like the top hat symbol in the drum beat is our life ,and its constant . And all the ot he r music the bother sounds Te in relation with our life. Completely introspective for me everytime I listen to this it takes me to a calm and near perfect state of control and focus. It honestly blows my mind how it can do that for me
This song has different meanings depending on what period of your life you're in. Teenage years, mid-twenties, early adulthood, parenthood, retirement.
thats whats up with this song, it encapsulates so many different emotions. To be able to tell a story that is shared by such a different group of folks, says so fucking much. Emotions.

That song has been haunting me for years. I first heard it in the closing scene in the movie 'One Way'. I have been searching for it for years but had forgot the movie name. Thanks goggle and my handy search work. This song is amazing, beautiful, spiritual and takes me to another place!
Takes me on a spiritual journey everytime I play it, to a place where there's no hatred, racism, social ills and in justice. A place where we all belong and smile from the depths of our hearts. 😔

Guaranteed, once a month minimum.
I have it on Spotify. Jam to it on repeat sometimes, when I'm on the road 😄

My bf died almost two weeks ago now. On the last saturday we spent together we stood in the car outside his house and listened to this song, it felt like magic :*
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what you must be feeling
I’m so sorry to learn of this, I feel your pain, however not in the same way. I had to reply, my heart goes out to you 😔
I didn’t even remember writing the comment.
Thank you for your kind words.
The pain continues but you learn to live with it
🤍🙌
I hope you are doing better. Cherish the beautiful memories. There are many more beautiful memories for you to make.
This make feel infinite and very small at the same time.

'I am the biggest of small things right now."
This song's reputation grows with each passing year. If humanity is still around at the end of the twenty-first century, this might be the only song from the first decade that anyone will even know. Most pop songs are ephemeral but this is timeless.
It won't be! ⚡⚡
I've never heard it before today... and I only came here because of a reddit post about sampling in songs.
Beautiful sentiment ....... a true friend indeed. 🙏
When my nan died on her kitchen floor in front of me. I went back to clear her house and this was on the radio . Made me think of our good times . Reminds me of her
Bless you
Geeze man 🫂
Beautiful bliss of a tune..and the drummer!💞France gave us some good music this year.
This year ? This song is 19 years old.
@@thomashullot9422 Yeah,I know,but I ment the Paralympics and Olympics shows.👌✌️
the original drummer is Tony Allen, Fela Kuti's drummer, who passed away 4 years ago 😢
Pourquoi cette musique me fait penser, à chaque fois, à mon grand amour perdu...tous les souvenirs avec elle me reviennent à chaque fois, et je regrette tout...
Va la retrouver
:'(

When your heart gets hit with the chills... Love this masterpiece.
Shout out to the late master drummer Tony Allen laying down his crazy Afrobeat rhythm over this. RIP Sir!
This might be my favourite song of all time.
Its up there for me...
Same here ! Can’t stop coming back to it !
Its like the top hat symbol in the drum beat is our life ,and its constant . And all the ot he r music the bother sounds Te in relation with our life. Completely introspective for me everytime I listen to this it takes me to a calm and near perfect state of control and focus. It honestly blows my mind how it can do that for me
no might in sight. this is the one
This song is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard in my life. There's such a haunting quality to it and can't put my finger on.
This song has different meanings depending on what period of your life you're in. Teenage years, mid-twenties, early adulthood, parenthood, retirement.
thats whats up with this song, it encapsulates so many different emotions. To be able to tell a story that is shared by such a different group of folks, says so fucking much. Emotions.
Me too
This is just one of the most underrated artist of all time.
...7 minutes 40... De pure intensité. 💚
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It’s incredible 😭

@@thatomorie4486 This is my song to my wife when I die
Masterpiece. After all these years. Tears in my eyes.
this song brings me peace but reminds one day this will all be over at the same time. feels like it could only be placed at an ending of something. it's beautiful, hard to put into words.
This was my wedding song, we eloped, so it was just us, this music and the scottish wild countryside.
Listening to this song on vacation in France while my oldest son underwent surgery. My wife stays with him for the night, while our two other kids and me sleep at our cottage a few dozen kilometres away. It hurts. Love to everyone and their families. X
big up to Tony Allen
the genious drummer wich is the groove, the heart, of this song !!!!
😍
Bass line is quite wicked as well but drumming makes this song.
goddamn right, saw him in live for a couple of euro, that was so good, wish i could go back in time...
His drumming is truly effortless. If you ever get to see him drum live he barely moves his arms!!
20 years old, deeply in love and this piece as our secret anthem. Why do memories hurt so much... hope you are happy in your marriage
Totalement intemporel
Sébastien is an outstanding pianist and composer. The way he develops the melody and builds emotion is truely poignant.

Every time, this masterpiece pulls me into myself and releases so much gratitude 🙏
Think this is the best song I ever heard. Those strings get to my heart
This song is a life, with love in the middle.
Love its construction.
I will never grow tired of this song.
I want to be stuck in this song forever

This song is underrated... but then again was made for a select few like us. 👌🏽😭✊🏿

This was amazing at the paralympics..

This will have to be my funeral song I think. Masterpiece
Same. Perfect to explain a human experience life...
This song started to play in the car when I was coming back home after breaking up with someone I really loved so much!!! Its my farewell song
Always leave love with a smile on your face :) feel good about having had such emotions
One of those very few songs that has the power to put each and every person who listens to it in their own unique state of nostalgia. Incredible.
Belle musique. Gainsbourg aurait sûrement apprécié. 🏖️💕🍾

I have been looking for this song for over 10 years now. It was everything. Still is. I'm glad I've finally found you.
I too similarly hunted for years for it ... then found it here 🙌🤗☺

I will never tire of listening to this, its a masterpiece, no bass till the lyrics kick in.........epic!
July 2008 the first time I heard this as the sun set on cafe del mar with the catamaran at anchor and a paraglider floating through the sky. Nice bifter, bottle of beer and me best mate of 30 years next to me. Please invent a time machine. I need to go back
Pete Marfleet beautiful
Pete Marfleet we all need a DeLorean 😉
fond memories, these are the most valuable things that we can collect from life
big up yourself, hope u go back someday
damn man i've had a real shitty day and this comment really made me happy :)
I've been listening to this music since I was a child. It is a crime this mans name is not in every household in the U.S. Incredibly talented.
This song is my anthem. In the best and the worst moments. Merci Seb
O yes yes yes 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮
That song has been haunting me for years. I first heard it in the closing scene in the movie 'One Way'. I have been searching for it for years but had forgot the movie name. Thanks goggle and my handy search work. This song is amazing, beautiful, spiritual and takes me to another place!
It makes me sort of sad to know I will never be as effortlessly cool as Sebastien Tellier.
+phuturephunk oh dont be. im sure you're cool enough for someone :)
this attitude in and of itself is the most uncool thing ever..
+Vibrant Void I think it's more of a compliment to Sebastien than some self hating.
+Toby Prince you have a point
+phuturephunk Dude , you're your own Limited edition
Un bout de ma vie. Du froid, du bois, pas de gens. Un rocky 4. Et sûrement un des meilleurs son
The violin guy, I just want to add you're a +1 to the lyrics. Sebastián mate love from India 🇮🇳
Takes me on a spiritual journey everytime I play it, to a place where there's no hatred, racism, social ills and in justice.
A place where we all belong and smile from the depths of our hearts. 😔
I love your comment. Thank you hon 💕

Ode to the sheer grace of life. I cry
this song is a masterpiece
