- Covers a basic introduction to schizophrenia, including what it is and what the symptoms are.
Also covers the issues of reliability and validity, with reference to co-morbidity, symptom overlap, gender and culture bias.
Ideal for first time learning and revision.
The DSM-5 criteria I've seen says two or more symptoms including at least one of: hallucinations, delusions, disorganised speech.
Hey sir, do you have a video on psychological therapies for schizophrenia? I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you
Absolute legend mate, thank you for the video, super useful
Glad it helped
wow this is an amazing video and very helpful!!!!
could they give a design a study question in paper 3?
what about validity?
how could i positively evaluate this?
You don't really get positives and negatives for this topic. Most of the points are supporting arguments for the existence of the issues. So for example you could outline what validity is in relation diagnosis and then give some examples of what could affect it. You then use "research support" for the existence of the issues, like research support for the issue of gender bias. I hope that makes sense.
Just out of curiosity, would the peel paragraphs you showed us within these videos be suitable for full marks or will the examiner expect us to write more. I tend to struggle with the amount the examiner is expecting for each paragraph
Hi, thanks for your comment. If you can remember the evaluation points given in the videos you are definitely in for a Lv4 essay. The marking process can be a bit subjective at times so I don't want to say that you would get 16/16 every time because it will depend on the examiner. However, 3-4 evaluation points, written out like they are in my videos will get you a high end level 4 essay and most probably full marks. Thanks
