I feel like this animation fully encapsulates the slow realization that BF was really the only thing that gave M purpose, the slow realization that, truly, he is alone. All of the others were part of his hivemind, and the one two people that weren't, are now dead. He has nothing left. He's won....but at what cost?
Wanted to comment myself, but I feel like this sums it up nicely. M's victory is hollow as, without an actual player to join his fun, he's left with nothing but actors who can't play their parts

This suggests that M in some part he is a good person, I mean, what has he achieved with his revenge? Has anything changed by killing BF and GF who just wanted to have innocent fun with him? After that he feels bad for having done all this without any need, and it shows very well in this song.
He was just hurt, a very hurt person, and that pain, anger consumed him to want revenge, so after he acomplishes what he wanted he just feels bad about it because he realises it didnt solve anything

This song perfectly encapsulates the concept of a person winning a rivalry and regretting it since now, they don’t feel like they have purpose. It’s like when Oggy from Oggy and the Cockroaches finally got the cockroaches out of the house. He felt joy at first, but eventually thought that they would return any second, lifting up things around the house to check if they were there, until the realization kicked in that he missed them. And then you ask yourself how this can be in the same mod as Chris Pratt and Grand Dad.
