Melbourne is a Florida city southeast of Orlando. The Eau Gallie Arts District, on the Indian River Lagoon, is known for its galleries and Foosaner Art Museum. Period buildings include the Rossetter House Museum & Gardens, restored to its 1908 appearance. Across the lagoon, Howard E. Futch Memorial Park at Paradise Beach faces the Atlantic Ocean. North, Brevard Zoo features a kayak tour through an African habitat.

I've been living in nearby Satellite Beach and never knew there was that many restaurants and bars in downtown Melbourne. I'll have to check them out one of these days

As nice as Melbourne is it is also very homeless friendly. Many are felons who don't want attention and you'll occasionally run in to an a-hole screaming at you about something.

Yes, I was in shock when I moved here permanently almost 9 years ago, grew up in Broward County the most Democratic County in Florida

Look for the older more established neighborhoods in both Melbourne and especially in Palm Bay, landscape is being decimated with all the building going on, the downtown as you can see but there is also a historic downtown in Eau Gallie that is the arts district. Visit the Green Gables Historic House, same family owned the house since 1896 and were some of the earliest settlers of Melbourne. It has been purchased by a non-profit and being turned into a living museum.
