No boxing day here. After Christmas Day, it's back to business as usual unless you take personal days off work. The kids are off school until after New Year's day, though. Your buffet is amazing!! Everything looks so tasty! Glad you and your family had a great time together. 🛹🥰
mine go back 3rd i think it is, hate it when they go back midweek, throws me off lol
Watched Christmas food haul (very funny with bad substitutions), Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. We in US don't do snack foods on Boxing Day. Just leftovers in the form of a turkey or ham sandwich and soup using up veggies. We do more snacky bits on New Years Day. Lots of snacks and football games. My must have Christmas morning is Who Hash and eggs, from the old animated How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Xmas Morning is pigs(sausages) in blankets(wrapped in bacon) inside English muffins xx
I keep it simple on Boxing Day too- we always have a cooked ham, potato salad and homemade slaw and salad. 😋

Very nice! We just do left overs on boxing day at our house. Theres always so much, and it helps clear the crammed fridge. Then do another dinner on New Years day.We often have an appy night/buffet Christmas eve.. This year was very different tho with Mom passing last week. I was very thankful, my oldest son stepped up and made a beautiful Christmas dinner, especially for it being his first go at something like that. Happy New Year to you all!

@@mummycookshomemade Im well, just different, as it always is that first bit. Ive watched other videos as Ive had time, just havent commented much. Mostly Im just tired. The responsibilities all fell to me, so just a lot to do. The big stuff like clearing the apartment and cleaning, thats done! But the nice thing was, I got to see my grandbabies for Christmas! That was wonderful! Thank you for thinking of us!
We did a buffet too but I had had enough by then and told my daughter and son in law to get on with it. He has a cheesemonger and deli shop in Cheshire so they brought most of the food with them. I do the same as you when the back has gone. I lean on anything and everything. Annoyingly I cannot get anything done in the kitchen if I sit! Hope you had a fantastic Christmas. x

Everything looks lovely Hailey, don’t know how you do it. I suppose if I had a family I’d be doing it too, you just ‘get on’ with it don’t you?! But yikes. I feel for you. I only put out some food, cleaned house top to bottom (didn’t need it, but always self conscious at mine for some reason!), had a shower etc, & I was done in when family came & usually I put on a massive buffet when they come. Couldn’t do it this year, but I did put out dips, chips, quiche, mini scotch eggs etc - just nothing I needed to prep!
This is how my mum always did it, big Christmas dinner, leftover meat / gammon / jacket potatoes & salad on Boxing Day.
When I did a buffet for my brother & family once, I did twice baked potatoes, oh my god they gobbled them down. I said to Dad I want to do things differently next year. I don’t mind cooking a roast dinner, it’ll be the first Christmas dinner at mine, but I want to get some of those big square containers (metal ones) with lids (just have to find them, I can find them without lids but from experience even with foil on the food gets awful freezer burn, need the lids!!), & I’m going to portion up another Christmas dinner for Dad & I for New Years rather than eating it the next day. That’ll give us room to have a nice buffet. We miss having a buffet.
We’ve had those steak bakes before, Iceland I think, nice aren’t they?! Love a good steak bake! Xx

I had ten people. I made a nut roast. mussels in cream and white wine with French bread. roast beef muffins, cauliflower cheese, peas. Spicy Shepherds pie and homemade sausage rolls. Cheese board and fruitcake and mince pies and clotted cream. We are a zero waste family so leftovers were given out and enjoyed for a couple of days after. Lovely.

We do a buffet and 3 different meals on Christmas Eve A Traditional Christmas Dinner , Mexican Pulled Pork Carnitas made with large juicy Orange 🍊 and lime , Also a Tartiflette with Brie not Robochlon. Large Famiy Pork Pies with Cranberres etc . But all I had was a little Tartiflette. Christmas Day/ Boxing Day. I am Diabetic with a poor appetite, and can’t eat things like bread crumbs and certain pastries. I like things battered though . Don’t eat ordinary bread nor Gluten free bread , it’s like Tissue Paper. I only eat Warburtons milk roll. It’s gentle on your digestion. But I love double Cheesy home made scones . We gave most of our Christmas food away to a family of 8 and a family of 5 . Bags of food , so I didn’t mind at all. Not been 100% so can’t face food.

The day after christmas in the states is just another day. We get christmas eve, christmas day and new years day. Love all the food you made and again love your videos.

No way, I didn't know that. I just assumed the whole world has Boxing Day like we do.😮 It's Christmas round 2 here in the UK 😂 my husband prefers Boxing Day to Christmas Day itself 😂 xxx

Hi hailey lovely buffet I do love a buffet table ,we had rolls with turkey,pork pies ,sausage rolls,Pringles ,I do the bigger buffet for New Year’s Eve with all the party stuff on it ,I have got a turkey thigh out to put in the slow cooker tomorrow,as we are nipping out to B&M tomorrow to see if they have got any big storage containers to put the Christmas stuff in ,miss wilkos for that kind of stuff xxx

I did a Buffett too and took your advise and prepped a lot of it so just had to reheat the sausage rolls and spring rolls . Yeah my fridge did go down a lot with 6 grand children and 6 adults xxx

Yes Hayley is a great mum , specially when she remarked, they don’t let their girls out of their sight. When mine were small they played outside, I wouldn’t let them do so now, they literally went to school under 20 yards from home .

I grabbed a jar of tikka curry sauce and made a turkey curry (was only the 2 of us) so we had that Boxing Day…. I weren’t doing anything complicated after cooking Christmas Day lol… made your pigs ears Christmas Eve I really liked them! You buffet looked yummy thanks for all the content this year! I have olso never cooked on Boxing Day just done a salad plate with Itialian bread cold cuts a got to have a pork pie. But olso put some chips in oven when hubby was here but I love a buffet like your this is how I would havedone the same irene 🐝🐝🐝

Marks and Spencer Pulled Pork sausage rolls are delicious , they are quite small .
I've tried something similar to that but not marks and sparks, wasn't keen, but then, that's not to say I wouldn't like the marks ones xx
Boxing day we have bubble and sweek with cold meats the kids have macorni & cheese.

Looks lovely. I like a buffet with lots to choose from. Unfortunately dodbt do ours this year cos I will ill, so still have stuff to use. But all fit good dates on them so won't go to waste . Yeah good job you dod all your sausage rolls / quiches etc beforehand you woukd Ave berm exhausted if you had to make thise on boxing day

hi julie 😁 thankyou and no they don't, but that's because I wouldn't be able to go. anyway hunni, unfortunately I don't leave the house anymore, I can't stand or walk for very long, I also don't tolerate a car due to my spine and legs hun.
But if circumstances were different, the in-laws would be fab about inviting us over and I would be able to travel to see my own family. we make the best of what we're given I guess. thankyou so much for watching hunni appreciate it very much x

no, no party just the usual 6 of us, what wasn't eaten went in the fridge and got eaten the next day x
I didn't realise Americans don't do boxing day. Is it just us Brits then? What's that savers mayonnaise like? I get plenty of savers stuff, but I usually splash a bit more when it comes to mayonnaise, ideally Hellman's. I only had some jacket potatoes on boxing day. I just didn't feel like eating much, lol.
PS: Don't think I've ever had a salad with a boxing day buffet. You're better than me. 😂
hey I didn't say I ate it lol the savers ain't bad, I refuse to pay for the branded when we can use a large jar a week. Canada, Australia, Ireland do boxing day, not sure about anyone else tbh
