If you miss the first time startup time window, You can press restart button at the bottom right to start the dimmer and add to HomeKit. Also, the if you lost the little QR code, you can add the code manually from the code printed on the switch.
Cool! I've always avoided doing modifications to electrical wiring but the alternative is buying smart bulbs for each light which gets pricey.
You're not modifying wiring. You're installing a new switch. That's all.
is kasa app need it when using only apple products? I mean, HomeKit is enough right?
Thats simply dumb… thanks for the video, theres nothing wrong with it, but the way apple complicated the connection is just idiotic. Ive set all my kasa devices with the google home app right from my phone, without the need to scan anything or run around the house and switch the breakers on and off…. Really no wonder why nobody uses homekit…
You don't have to shut off breakers to replace google home smart switches?
if you want to replace a switch, obviously you have to switch off electricity... but not if you wanted to link an already mounted switch/device. All of my devices are set up in the Kasa app, so all I had to do is link the kasa account to Google home account and DONE. @@Cruz0083
@@Cruz0083 You don't have to shut off the breakers to replace anything at all ever, but if you're not surgically careful you'll get jolted by 120v.
