Apparently Kohei is a guy that suffers from crippling depression since he was a child. He went to live in this apartment complex with his dog. Due to his condition, he couldnt maintain a job, so he was living from welfare checks. For some reason, everyone in the apartment complex was rude to him and rejected him, seeing him as a parasite and a weirdo. The guy ended up killing himself. What i got from this, is that the landlord found him dead in his apartment, and instead of calling the police, he put the body inside a refrigerator, probably to keep getting the welfare checks for him. Messed up stuff. The delivery man found the clues to what happen, guided by the ghost of Kohei. So in the ending 1, probably the bad ending, the delivery man couldnt find all the clues and gets killed by the ghost of Kohei, then the landlord also gets killed, haunting the appartments for good. In the ending 2, probably the good ending, the delivery man manages to find all the clues and leaves the place after finding the true and calls the police, later they find the body of Kohei in the fridge and arrest the landlord, lifting the haunting.
You got the endings wrong. Ending 1 is the good ending where the deliveryman calls the police and the landlord gets arrested. Ending 2 is the one where the deliveryman is killed by Kohei's ghost followed by the landlord who went to his apartment for some reason and also gets killed. Note End 2 shows a man's legs walking into frame with a fridge seemingly stuck from his back.
Wait a sec, in ending 1, Kohei killed himself, the delivery man and the landlord. What about the rest of the tenants? Who killed them? I'm having trouble understanding this. Lol.
@@mischievousalien8873 The rest of the people in the apartment didnt died, they were just rude and weird. But since the ghost of Kohei settled there to haunt in the bad ending, i supposed a similar fate awaits them.

if you are a pet owner, this is why you should keep going.
It’s most likely based on the story of Hachiko, a loyal dog that sat and waited at a train station for his owner after he told it stay. A little while later the owner suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital and died. However unbeknownst to this, Hachiko stayed put. The dog didn’t accept any food or water and later died.

Theres the one were a person fell really bad because a woman yelled him to stay away from she and her baby, this make fell like everyone look at you as a parasyte.
Another person only wanted to help a man carry some beers, but his kindness has been rejected, this make you think that maybe its true that nobody cares of you even its just the opinion of one person.
Then there was a person who only wanted to exchange greetings with a girl who called him stalker without a reason.
Then theres the one of arrogant and cruel priest who didn't show any confidence.

That part with the lady looking around the corner was exactly like the experience I had while delivering packages. With the exception that in my case the lady had a fricken triangle mouth because she didn't have teeth. Yeah, sorry ma'am, I'm not helping you build the bed.

The second the first guy demanded the package to be checked by a priest i would've said "Fuck this" and left it at his door, i'm not getting paid minimum wage to give more than a minimum damn about your order.
Damn. He closes the back of the van each time he takes a package, but it always ends up being mysteriously open again every time he comes back.

Still, they both are awesome

I like how this manages to be a creepy horror game just through the depressing and foreboding atmosphere (and subject matter) without there being an actual threat 99% of the time. No random monsters here, just the ones already in humanity fostered by (Japanese) society.
I do have to wonder, however, who the "I" at the end is given it's clearly neither the delivery man nor the old landlord. Given that same "I" is presumably the new landlord & seems to have already been on the property when this went down but most of the characters we met were assholes, it's a bit unclear.

So this game is about a disabled young man name Kohei who tried to greet his new apartment's residents but got rejected because everyone are assholes; despite his supportive loving parents and a cute shiba inu, he got very depressed and later died. I still not make out what's with his death and ending 2. Assuming he killed himself with a knife, and the landlord seems to go to his room to collect late rent, but what happened to landlord afterward? Is that Kohei walking in 33:25 and what is he doing? What's with the refrigerator?
And who is "I" in ending 1 epilogue text? Delivery man is referred in 3rd person here.
It seems to me that the landlord killed him and put it in the fridge, people around him might not notice at all or knew but decided not to do anything.
The person who’s been told the story from the delivery man?
I think Kohei killed himself and the landlord hid his body in the fridge to keep collecting rent. As for ending 2, I think Kohei eventually gets revenge on the landlord. In ending 1 you prevent this from happening by going to the police and have the find Kohei.
Either Kohei committed suicide or the landlord killed him, my guess is the landlord kept his body hidden in the fridge so he can keep taking rent from his welfare benefits. I guess 'I' in the epilogue is the government bureaucrat who was assigned to deal with the case.
Still not sure about the girl's dead body though.

Chilla's Art nailed the creepy atmosphere once again. That jumpscare at 28:11 got me. XD
As for the 2 endings, this is how I understood it. With Ending 2, since the delivery man didn't get the key from the fallen pot, he ends up with an incomplete information on Kouhei's situation. And while your character had been busy with delivering packages (and doing other things that I never thought he'd do), the landlady happens to go into Kouhei's room to check if there's any welfare cheques that she can leech out of..... but she never expected the man's ghost to come after her. (I assume he killed her not only for revenge, but also for the fact that no one will ever understand the pain he's felt, not even the man whom he hoped would help him reveal the truth.) Hence, by the time the delivery man went into his apartment, he finds both the fridge where the body's kept and the landlady's corpse. With incomplete information in your hands + seeing the landlady's dead body, it distorts your notion of the real truth and therefore, the ghost kills your character.
In Ending 1, since you've read the letter, it gives you a better understanding of Kouhei's situation. Not only did the ghost gave you hints here & there of his murder, but the packages you deliver may also be a setup to ensure that you meet the tenants he had met. Having a complete information this time, you encountered nothing but the fridge. He doesn't need to kill the landlady knowing that he can trust your judgement on the matter. He even doubly made sure that you'd fully grasped what has occurred in his apartment, by locking you in for a small period of time.... before finally opening the door for you. You reported everything and therefore, both the landlady and the tenants were held accountable for his death.

Since Kouhei's murder was exposed, nobody wants to use that place anymore, even after it was rebuilt and renamed.

Man Japanese horror games are probably some of the few horror games that actually manage to scare the hell out of me. Always so unique and always terrifying.

Well with the groundwork in place, all they need are more environments. The "gameplay" is always the same, and there isn't a lot of story or dialogue either.
I still like the games (or at least I like watching the playthroughs on this channel), but I believe a bit more polishing would benefit them greatly.

i love this channel but bro in both endings you didn't actually look at what you were supposed to look at lmao, in the first one when that girl's dead body appears if you look around other bodies appeared too all around the apartment (they're the residents bodies), and in the second ending you have to look at the fridge because it slowly opens and reveals kohei's body inside but you left the apartment right as the fridge was opening up lol

Okay, I was watching this when it was late at night and I was starting to get a bit sleepy. My eyes felt heavy at around 11:40 but, I tried to stay awake so I could watch the rest of this video. Before closing, nobody was on the screen but, when they opened back up, the weird lady from the thumbnail bending her neck slightly just suddenly appeared. That legitimately got me and shocked me awake.

I know everyone probably has their own version of what happened but ill try to summarize best i can on my theory.
Kouhei actually did not kill anyone despite everyone being a giant asshole to him. Diary entries indicated he showed no malice at all to the people who hated him, and the letters from the mom constantly emphasized he was an extremely kind person, especially the final letter. So what happened was that sadly the depression from everyone hating him, his disability, and etc was too great and he killed himself. The landlord knew this but he did not call police. instead he hid his body in a fridge in his room in order to keep collecting his welfare checks. At some point the girl in room 305 figured out kouhei was dead or she saw what the landlord did and the landlord killed her too and kept her body in his room. This way, if cops ever found out, it would look like a murder suicide with kouhei or the girl being framed. The ghost of kouhei could be seen a few times with his dog and on the balcony, perhaps to guide the deliveryman.
The stranger jump scare at the elevator was infact the landlord trying to kill the delivery man because he was getting too close to finding out the truth. in the bad ending kouhei kills deliveryman and landlord and haunts the apartments because no one would ever know what happened to him. People, including his own parents, would continue to think he was alive when he wasnt. However in the good ending, the landlord was caught and Kouhei's spirit was put at ease. Whats really sad however is that since Kouhei was dead, he never received his moms letters. The landlord threw them all away which is why they were found in the dumpster or still locked in his postbox. The ending narrator is anyone's guess, but it was someone who still stays at the apartments that is neither the deliveryman nor landlord. I would like to think it was the dog, as its stated that no residents nor landlord reside there anymore. its completely abandoned, with only the dog is left there missing his master Kouhei. Or maybe, on the brighter side of things, he still remains there playing and chilling with the spirit of his master as the swings can be seen moving as he sits next to it in the end credits.
i like games like this that can be interpreted in many different ways.
When it comes to horror movies and games, japan is really good at it
I used to be a UPS driver during peak season when all drivers would most likely be out till 10 pm and this is what I had to go through. I would deliver packages to areas/apartment complexes that would be sketchy asf at night and you would just have to drop your balls and deliver the package no matter what. New Ups drivers deal with this on the daily basis with routes they don’t normally do.

Japan / Japanese has this special haunting aesthetic, the areas there and the doll like faces of ghosts is creepy af. Almost all the horror games from Japan that I've played is nightmare fuel.

I'm pretty sure Kohei suffered from depression (and possibly other psychological issues). All the neighbors in the apartment block were awful to him and he ended up killing himself. The landlord covered up the suicide (because it would have been bad for business) and hid his body in the refrigerator. The first ending in the video sees the delivery person getting killed by the spirit of Kohei, then the landlord goes to check on the apartment and is killed too. The second ending in the video is the good ending where everyone lives.
