  • Doug describes a press brake that he built for his shop around 35 years ago and has been in service since. The machine was designed by Paul DeLorenzo.

    Great machine! I built a 50" wide 40 ton press brake last year. Not near as hulking as yours, but works perfectly well for full width bends up to 3/8" mild steel. It's surprising how much I end up using it and wonder how I ever got by without it!

    That thing is sweet you should show the linear rails and how did you make the tang or hole for the top punch holder.

    Do you have trouble keeping larger sheets positioned with the up vs the standard down stroke?

      We haven't had any trouble, occasionally we support larger material with sawhorses
