  • Here are some upgrades that I made to my SWAG Off Road press brake kit. Hopefully these tips and tricks will help you get more from your tool. Swag makes another great tool to maximize harbor freight tools.
    Here is a link to an air over hydraulic cylinder you can use to upgrade your press: amzn.to/3DHRUFA

    Great tips that I'll be using on my SWAG press brake, thanks Mike! New subscriber here, as I just saw a link to it via the Pro Cycle blog about you.

    great one, never thought about the round rod depth stops!!

  • @DJtheDad
    @DJtheDad 24 дні тому

    For more finite options for the dowels used to limit the depth, you can use cheap drill bits. Buy a couple of "48pc" drill bit sets so you've got pairs of each size, and you'll have a near-infinite selection of stops for various angles.

    Pretty interesting for sure, last shop I was in we had a prototype precision sheet metal area and the last 6 months or so that the shop was open I worked in that area on top of being a modelmaker overall, and it is interesting to learn all that stuff and challenging as well, most of our stuff was about 16-18 gauge but did work on stuff as thick as 1/8", mostly aluminum, and it was on a accupress cnc pressbrake sat up manually and also a way older hydro-mechanical press brake as well. Now I am a tool maker for a well known company in Milwaukie that went originally with the last part of its name as industries until 2017 and now goes by automotive and industries is over in Clackamas. Mainly running a CNC mill larger than the one you had in your old home shop lol.

    Your Amazon link is broken for the hydraulic ram.
    Would you please provide the specs on the entire system, including the hydraulic pump that you’re using, please.

    Hey man! Thanks for the tips....Love the pins trick, that's a new one for me and I'm gonna try it for sure! I made myself a 40 ton press a few years ago (got a video on it on my channel if you..) and I made the same setup of multiple angles to have different bend radius, but I made my angles with flatbars at 80° to counter the spring back and be able to bend past that 90°. But you're using only 90° angle right? Do you have to make a lot of plasma notches on the parts to reduce the spring back? I'm curious to know how you achieved a nice 90° ?! Hey sorry for the long comment, I'm not a big fan when poeple writes to me long comments and now I wrinting one! 😅

    • @motomule

      😂 I actually have to be careful, somehow the 90 deg angle with bend past 90 sometimes, which doesn't make any sense...

    • @motomule
      @motomule  Рік тому +1

      @@motomule if thats the case you should consider only doing one relief cut per bend, to cut down on pierces. those wear our your consumables faster
