as a gauss main, no, not really. gauss has the 2nd highest base sprint speed already, second only to gauss prime, and he comes with 2 built-in polarities for the best sprint speed mods. redline affects stats dynamically based on your battery meter, so if it affected sprint speed then your sprint speed would be changing with the battery and it would mess with your muscle memory for movement. if his already insane sprint speed isn't enough, you can just tap or hold his 1.

if you go on overframe and use the new build tool and click on apply conditional it gives you the calculation for critical chance without the need to calculate it

This build allowed me to break the wall ice been hitting for so long. I can do netracells and stuff solo now allowing me to get archon shards and more arcanes.
I came up with a good idea for a dagath build: 1. Use whatever mods you feel are good for your style 2. Replace her 4th with lycaths hunt for better energy regen, use equilibrium for this 3. Use 2 emerald shards for armor striping, the rest of the slots can be used for any other shard Lastly use good weapons, kuva Nukor, tenet cycron, or Torid is great for hitting and striping there armor quite fast

@@kyaii I don't understand your point about TS grouping. You don't have to build it any differently for it to work for grouping, it would just save you the slot for the mach rush augment. It doesn't prevent you from killing. Yeah I understand how magus anomly works, that's why i recommend it as an option. it has higher range than anything you showed in the video and doesn't require you to build your weapon and companion around it. Also you can still use nautilus as a primer. It may not be as good at priming as diriga, but it provides more value since it can also be used for grouping, and there are diminishing returns on how many status effects you inflict.
@@Always.Smarter When it comes to thermal sunder grouping he’s saying that you might as just kill the enemies since TS is so strong (since if the enemies are in range for the TS group, they’re range to just die by it) and he already did showcase a replacement for using Mach Crash in the video. He probably mentioned magnus anomaly having to go into operator mode meaning that it slows or interferes with his gameplay loop as Gauss (yeah it doesn’t take up that much time and is easy to do, but he can’t play what he’s not comfortable with). And lastly that’s the reason he uses Diriga over Nautilus because Diriga is the better primer and with Duplex Bond is a great grouper as well.
I’m trying to think what would be solid archon shards just for a little extra OOMPH. Extra strength from reds, melee crit damage, casting speed from yellow, many possibilities!
what did you end up replacing natural talent with? ik it doesnt matter but i cant think of something for the life of me so was just going to run like adaptation or rolling guard
So I run something along these lines as my gauss but I lean into melee Influence on my melee since the red crits just kind of come with wrathful. I red crit consistently and blast everything with status.
one gauss weakness I keep coming upon is how hard it is to build defense stripping. Armor stripping is great if you fighting Grin but everything else its only going to help so much. There are helmint methods of defense stripping but they all scale of ability strength, which outside of a very small collection of builds, is the least stat you want to build for.
Its like armor stripping but takes shield along with armor. Its superior to armor stripping but usually affects less of the stat in question and is harder to increase with power strength. Pillage is a example.@@PAGRlO
I'm not sure if there are any "perfect" warframes, but Gauss is one of the few that is at least in the discussion. Kullervo, Xaku, Voruna, and Hydroid would also seem to be candidates. They are all immensely strong, have only good abilities, and are very versatile.

Something about Gauss just doesn't click with me, he feels like a walking contradiction. You are fast, but if u want to generate energy u have to stand still so enemies can actually hit you. Unless u are playing solo, gl with getting enemies to hit u before someone kills them. You are fast, yet u gotta wait like 20 seconds for Redline to kick in, and u have to wait for it every time u cast it. He almost fully scales with duration, which doesn't leave that many options for helminth, unless u want to mod ur whole build around the helminth ability, at that point might as well play the frame that has that helminth ability... Idk, he just doesn't feel like a frame that would help me with anything, there isn't a single mission type where i feel like Gauss is the frame to pick, and i feel like making a loadout for every type of content is important part of the game, it's what makes the grind enjoyable, having just the right frame for every task the game throws at you, i don't think there's a single task i'd prefer to do with Gauss... There are frames that kill bosses faster, there are frames that kill hordes of enemies faster, there are frames that tank better, there are frames that defend better, frames that nuke better, even frames that can navigate through tilesets faster and more precisely. Idk, if he generated Energy by moving and had a way to maintain 100% Redline, he'd be a sick frame, like this his Redline feels like an old man's boner, and the way his 2 generates energy contradicts with the rest of his kit...
You’re probably not playing steel path or something cuz I generate energy like crazy when the enemies shoot me, you don’t have to wait for redline? Idk what you mean by that you always have to move with him. And yea there r other frames that can do that but gauss by himself can do all of that at once jack of all trades
there are literally frames/builds that are borderline unviable in SP and the sole reason for that is that they have dated and bad casting animations there is a reason people use fused reservoirs on wisp even though at face value it doesnt offer anything except convinience so yeah, casting speed is definitely a key aspect of wf, as speed is generally important in this game, but not just speed in literal sense but almost any sense, the less downtime you have the more fluid and practical your build is in the actually challenging content atleast, in your base starchart you can run 10 seconds reload weapons with mirage/nekros like 4th ability casting speeds, and with banshee-like squishiness and youll still be fine. but in any remotely challenging content, casting speed is definitely a huge factor
since this is full on melee should we be running Dexterity arcanes on our weapons? Then also on those missions that dont have hardly aoe wouldn't it better to run melee dupl on the melee wepaons for more damge?

I went through a Gauss phase when he came out I enjoyed him for a while. I think hes cool. BUT. His DR doesint scale well because he isint at 100% all the time so automatically that makes him a mid levelcap frame. His gameplay loop while fun at first, can get old after a while. His 2 and 4 are passive abilites, his 1 is a obnoxious movement ability that you feel pressured into constantly casing, his 3 is a obnoxiously spammy nuking ability with ok range that feels kinda out of place on a speedster weapons specialist frame. There are tankyer frames, there are beter nukers, there are better weapon buffers, there are better melee frames, there are more versitile frames, there are more fun frames, there are faster frames. I wouldint change him personally but at the same time I wouldint call him perfect, if that makes sense. Also, wrathfull advance isint that good, atleast compared to roar. Roar double dips on slash procs and TRIPLE dips on melee influence (which is what you should be using in 2024), worst case scenario if you arent using influence and you are using a primed faction mod roar is just barelly worse (probably not, im just being generous) other wise its better or i your using influence (you should be using influence cause its just too good) its actually a no brainer. I guess if you are using a low crit weapon then wrathfull advance pretty good.
Ah damn it man, I literally refuse to helminth gauss. Yeah, his first is kind of useless, but it's also the most fun ability to use in game. Still trying to find a now helminth gauss build, the search continues!

@@justinfrench8358 nah it's so weird because I haven't seen anybody else with this problem lol Mine actually works now, the last time I went to feed and gav it resources it prompted me to confirm it with the right trigger on the bottom right of the screen. Which it never did before. Maybe check for that? There might be prerequisites that aren't stated I really am not sure
When I use Wrathful on my gauss (I replaced Thermal Sunder) it resets my Nikana’s combo. This has to be a bug. I don’t recall it resetting when I used Kullervo. Warframe devs please please fix this ASAP
@kyaii I point at an enemy, tap the Wrathful Advance ability, and it resets my combo to 0 when the enemy is hit by it every time. What do you mean tp at ground? If you aim wrathful at the ground it won’t do anything. I copied the same setup you have in the video. Did I do something wrong or is it bugged? What’s going on here?
Also maining him since release but still don't have Thermal Sunder because i use ALL 3 OF THEM! 1 for Speed, 1 for Normal missions and now Prime is out! And i need 2 of them! Why? Gauss is eh, most warframes have jobs and niches they stick too. Gauss is fun but the burnout is real once you get tired of being a weapon platform and pressing 1 to keep your Battery Up. General Warframe gameplay loop he is a solid A tier, you use him to feel OP not to play the game for its relevant content. The perfect frames are the frames that do their jobs exceptionally well. Xaku/Saryn, Nekros/Khora, Kullervo/Equinox, Frost, Wukong/Nova, Citrine/Protea. Ranging from DPS, farming, Nuke potential, Defense, Speed running, Support. Guass is in the same place Voruna is amazing for weapon platforming but him being the perfect frame is eh, a stretch imo. Citrine might be the perfect frame, infinite energy regen, Damage Reduction and Healing + Crit Status buffs making her a support Weapons platform. Guass is kit is the best designed but his functionality goes out the relevant/efficient category quick asf. Volt is better at moving then him, maybe with prime base sprint speed not as much. But volt feels like button mashy as Gauss does. But i guess personal opinion. I do feel like part of the charm is that Gauss is just cool.

L take Gauss sunder nuking is if not the fastest one of the fastest way to clear any mission that requires moving and killing. Its a non-line of sight, armor strip, mobile nuke with exponential scaling. You can easily get upwards of 200KPM with a good build all while being mobile
I just can't get into his playstyle. He seems like the perfect frame for me, I find movement speed and DR to be some of the best feeling warframe kits... Except I just CAN'T like gauss. I've tried, I even forced myself to put forma into him and to really narrow down on the aspects I like.... but I just can't I don't like constantly having to move at mach 2, I'd rather use volt for mach 10 when I wanna move fast, I don't like how his thermal sunder is a mostly stationary ability that is counter intuitive to his entire kit. "SO we have a movement based frame right? and the rest of the kit is based on constantly being in motion right? lets give him a completely stationary ability that does absolutely nothing WHILE HE'S MOVING THROUGH A MAP." it's completely contrary. Volts shield can be picked up for exterminate style missions, they need to add an augment for thermal sunder that reduces effectiveness but you can pick it up and it acts like the duviri Decrees. That would make Melee even better on him, but it would also help with aiming and moving with the aoe slow following him. I just can't like him. People keep talking him up but... god damn does it frustrate me to play that way. Power meter based on distance moved? that's even worse for when you are using ANY weapon that you actually need to aim with. It brings back the AOE meta. I actually enjoy garuda more than Gauss, and I only built her because I randomly got the prime parts.
Garuda comparison is funny, as she even has a meter that goes to 100% to make you better at killing things, but unlike Gauss you raise the meter by... killing things. Older less complex frames for older less complex people like myself, I guess.
TS is not counter to his kit. using cold will build his battery, and it has enough damage/duration that you can cast it while moving and just keep moving if you need to. casting heat then cold will pull in enemies for easier melee, which also builds battery for each melee hit. if you are having trouble building battery, then just spam his cold 3, or his 1, or hit enemies with melee.
Redline not increasing the sprint speed is honestly a sin.

I once did With Acceltra Prime and invigoration buff on him last week. 😂 Sunder build but unlike him. My nikana Prime did 20M red crits.

How exactly? You lose out on Condition Overload priming then and Vortex is better

Something about Gauss just doesn't click with me, he feels like a walking contradiction.
You are fast, but if u want to generate energy u have to stand still so enemies can actually hit you. Unless u are playing solo, gl with getting enemies to hit u before someone kills them.
You are fast, yet u gotta wait like 20 seconds for Redline to kick in, and u have to wait for it every time u cast it.
He almost fully scales with duration, which doesn't leave that many options for helminth, unless u want to mod ur whole build around the helminth ability, at that point might as well play the frame that has that helminth ability...
Idk, he just doesn't feel like a frame that would help me with anything, there isn't a single mission type where i feel like Gauss is the frame to pick, and i feel like making a loadout for every type of content is important part of the game, it's what makes the grind enjoyable, having just the right frame for every task the game throws at you, i don't think there's a single task i'd prefer to do with Gauss...
There are frames that kill bosses faster, there are frames that kill hordes of enemies faster, there are frames that tank better, there are frames that defend better, frames that nuke better, even frames that can navigate through tilesets faster and more precisely.
Idk, if he generated Energy by moving and had a way to maintain 100% Redline, he'd be a sick frame, like this his Redline feels like an old man's boner, and the way his 2 generates energy contradicts with the rest of his kit...
You’re probably not playing steel path or something cuz I generate energy like crazy when the enemies shoot me, you don’t have to wait for redline? Idk what you mean by that you always have to move with him. And yea there r other frames that can do that but gauss by himself can do all of that at once jack of all trades

I didnt realize that was a key aspect of a warframes toolset.
It is a very nice stat to have.
It's not key to his kit as it was just recently added but it is on the long list of things he provides
there are literally frames/builds that are borderline unviable in SP and the sole reason for that is that they have dated and bad casting animations
there is a reason people use fused reservoirs on wisp even though at face value it doesnt offer anything except convinience
so yeah, casting speed is definitely a key aspect of wf, as speed is generally important in this game, but not just speed in literal sense but almost any sense, the less downtime you have the more fluid and practical your build is
in the actually challenging content atleast, in your base starchart you can run 10 seconds reload weapons with mirage/nekros like 4th ability casting speeds, and with banshee-like squishiness and youll still be fine. but in any remotely challenging content, casting speed is definitely a huge factor
Keep in mind normal gauss can shieldgate more easily

since this is full on melee should we be running Dexterity arcanes on our weapons? Then also on those missions that dont have hardly aoe wouldn't it better to run melee dupl on the melee wepaons for more damge?
well melee dup doesn't work with wrathful and if you're constantly using the melee you don't need dex aecanes

I went through a Gauss phase when he came out I enjoyed him for a while. I think hes cool. BUT. His DR doesint scale well because he isint at 100% all the time so automatically that makes him a mid levelcap frame. His gameplay loop while fun at first, can get old after a while. His 2 and 4 are passive abilites, his 1 is a obnoxious movement ability that you feel pressured into constantly casing, his 3 is a obnoxiously spammy nuking ability with ok range that feels kinda out of place on a speedster weapons specialist frame. There are tankyer frames, there are beter nukers, there are better weapon buffers, there are better melee frames, there are more versitile frames, there are more fun frames, there are faster frames. I wouldint change him personally but at the same time I wouldint call him perfect, if that makes sense.
Also, wrathfull advance isint that good, atleast compared to roar. Roar double dips on slash procs and TRIPLE dips on melee influence (which is what you should be using in 2024), worst case scenario if you arent using influence and you are using a primed faction mod roar is just barelly worse (probably not, im just being generous) other wise its better or i your using influence (you should be using influence cause its just too good) its actually a no brainer. I guess if you are using a low crit weapon then wrathfull advance pretty good.

Ah damn it man, I literally refuse to helminth gauss. Yeah, his first is kind of useless, but it's also the most fun ability to use in game. Still trying to find a now helminth gauss build, the search continues!

Mine actually works now, the last time I went to feed and gav it resources it prompted me to confirm it with the right trigger on the bottom right of the screen. Which it never did before. Maybe check for that? There might be prerequisites that aren't stated I really am not sure

When I use Wrathful on my gauss (I replaced Thermal Sunder) it resets my Nikana’s combo. This has to be a bug. I don’t recall it resetting when I used Kullervo. Warframe devs please please fix this ASAP
are you teleporting onto enemies to proc it? that's a heavy attack and will drain combo

@kyaii I point at an enemy, tap the Wrathful Advance ability, and it resets my combo to 0 when the enemy is hit by it every time. What do you mean tp at ground? If you aim wrathful at the ground it won’t do anything. I copied the same setup you have in the video. Did I do something wrong or is it bugged? What’s going on here?
you need to hold cast to ONLY teleport at ground

Also maining him since release but still don't have Thermal Sunder because i use ALL 3 OF THEM! 1 for Speed, 1 for Normal missions and now Prime is out! And i need 2 of them! Why? Gauss is eh, most warframes have jobs and niches they stick too. Gauss is fun but the burnout is real once you get tired of being a weapon platform and pressing 1 to keep your Battery Up. General Warframe gameplay loop he is a solid A tier, you use him to feel OP not to play the game for its relevant content. The perfect frames are the frames that do their jobs exceptionally well. Xaku/Saryn, Nekros/Khora, Kullervo/Equinox, Frost, Wukong/Nova, Citrine/Protea. Ranging from DPS, farming, Nuke potential, Defense, Speed running, Support. Guass is in the same place Voruna is amazing for weapon platforming but him being the perfect frame is eh, a stretch imo. Citrine might be the perfect frame, infinite energy regen, Damage Reduction and Healing + Crit Status buffs making her a support Weapons platform. Guass is kit is the best designed but his functionality goes out the relevant/efficient category quick asf. Volt is better at moving then him, maybe with prime base sprint speed not as much. But volt feels like button mashy as Gauss does. But i guess personal opinion. I do feel like part of the charm is that Gauss is just cool.

Gauss sunder nuking is if not the fastest one of the fastest way to clear any mission that requires moving and killing. Its a non-line of sight, armor strip, mobile nuke with exponential scaling. You can easily get upwards of 200KPM with a good build all while being mobile
No one uses adaptation anymore :(
why use that when you have 100% DR alrdy

I just can't get into his playstyle. He seems like the perfect frame for me, I find movement speed and DR to be some of the best feeling warframe kits...
Except I just CAN'T like gauss. I've tried, I even forced myself to put forma into him and to really narrow down on the aspects I like.... but I just can't I don't like constantly having to move at mach 2, I'd rather use volt for mach 10 when I wanna move fast, I don't like how his thermal sunder is a mostly stationary ability that is counter intuitive to his entire kit.
"SO we have a movement based frame right? and the rest of the kit is based on constantly being in motion right? lets give him a completely stationary ability that does absolutely nothing WHILE HE'S MOVING THROUGH A MAP."
it's completely contrary. Volts shield can be picked up for exterminate style missions, they need to add an augment for thermal sunder that reduces effectiveness but you can pick it up and it acts like the duviri Decrees. That would make Melee even better on him, but it would also help with aiming and moving with the aoe slow following him.
I just can't like him. People keep talking him up but... god damn does it frustrate me to play that way. Power meter based on distance moved? that's even worse for when you are using ANY weapon that you actually need to aim with. It brings back the AOE meta. I actually enjoy garuda more than Gauss, and I only built her because I randomly got the prime parts.
Garuda comparison is funny, as she even has a meter that goes to 100% to make you better at killing things, but unlike Gauss you raise the meter by... killing things. Older less complex frames for older less complex people like myself, I guess.
TS is not counter to his kit. using cold will build his battery, and it has enough damage/duration that you can cast it while moving and just keep moving if you need to. casting heat then cold will pull in enemies for easier melee, which also builds battery for each melee hit. if you are having trouble building battery, then just spam his cold 3, or his 1, or hit enemies with melee.
