Thanks so much! Paris should never be sugar coated and if you don't have ridiculous expectations to the city, you will likely have a great experience. Enjoy your trip!
Awe, great video guys! I have been to Paris once, and look forward to visiting again. I rented a very small studio AirBnB in The Marais and walked all over the city for 5 days… and absolutely loved every moment of it.
Next time can try La Maison d’Isabelle croissant in the 5th arrondissememt. Flaky and buttery. For NYC, try Russ and Daughters lox bagels in Lower East! 😊
Thank you so much for your recommendation. We will keep that in mind for our next trip to Paris. As for New York, we have already returned but if we ever return, we will try Russ and Daughters. Thank you.😅🥲
You can do much better then Russ and Daughters for a bagel. They don't even bake their own bagels. They are brought in from other bakeries. Now if you are about smoked fishes and lox it's worth going. Also across the street is Joey Batz, the only pasteis da nada that I've had in NYC that even comes close to having one in Lisbon
Note that Hanoï Cà Phê is a chain restaurant. There are several in Paris especially in shopping malls. You go there more for the experience and drinking out with coworkers after workday (the area where this one is located is mainly office buildings). Hanoï Cà Phê is not where I would go to eat good vietnamese food. I would be more in outer areas of Central Paris (13th arrondissements for southeastern asian restaurants, even if you can find good ones in many other areas). That's the issue with Paris, most of the areas with the best restaurants are not where the tourists go.
Haha, interesting! We will likely go there too. The idea is to make these videos from alll the big cities in Europe like London, Rome, Budapest, Berlin etc.
@stayclassyvlog you will find it is true, all of the best French restuarants are in the UK. I believe that it is due to the fact that there are, or at least were, rules in France to how many hours you can work each week, and as you know, it takes time to prep and cook good food, and therefore chefs were never allowed the time to be creative and so moved to London and the home counties. Even Nuno Mendes, the great Portuguese chef, has or has had many restaurants in London, although he now also has one in Porto, which you must try next time you're up here. When in London you must try and get a booking into St. John run by Fergus Henderson, the man has inspired so many international chefs throughout the years despite his own personal difficulties! Keep up the works and take care the two of you!
Thanks for being honest! I agree that Paris had bland boring food and way overpriced for small portions. In my opinion, a very overrated place. I guess because you guys live in Portugal it will be hard to find any place better in Europe 😅 the food is incomparable! ❤
Paris. Loved the center with the lovely architecture. Used the bus to get around. Didn't visit the museums, just sightseeing. The suburbs we saw from the train were ugly. There are indeed tons of tourits in some spots, but it's expected. Got scared of the prices to eat. Ended up discovering an out of the way buffet place for office workers. We would take the bus from the other side of the city to go eat there. I want to visit Paris again to look at the streets and buildings.
Paris is certainly the most beautiful city in the world, I know that because I've lived there 5 years and half in the 70's. As for the fact the french were in Vietnam it's not quite that because at that time they called Indochine.
@@joenandamalie It was indeed. The young generation of that time didn't have cell Phone but we communicate quite well at Soir de Vergalant on the edge of Cité Island close to Pont-Neuf or at the Jardin du Luxembourg playing guitar and talking to People from all over the World. No fake profiles.
We went to Paris for the first time a few weeks ago and were blown away by the lovely Parisians! I miss them. The food that we enjoyed the most was from the boulangeries, the falafel wraps, and the galettes we got from the farmer's market after seeing Parisians line up for them at lunch time. We also travelled similarly in that we did not have any museums booked in advance and we stumbled upon so many amazing places... but we may have walked a little too much lol.
What a great video of Paris!! I was born in Marseille, France. I now live in southwestern Ontario, Canada. I told my parents, why would you take me away from the Mediterranean Sea and bring me to snow land lol?
Paris is several cities in one. The one we all want to visit is for the rich and those without financial worries. But there are other Parises that are less romantic. Paris of immigrants from former French colonies. The Paris of poor workers and servants of the rich, barely getting by from month to month. Paris of black taxi drivers, city bus drivers, garbage collectors. Pick your Paris - if you can...
Hi Joen and Amelie, could you please link the "two French women critiquing Emily in Paris" video? I can't find it anywhere. I'd love to watch it. Thanks!
Back from Paris 4 months ago. Tourists are not the problem. The streets are filled with African and Middle Eastern immigrants who will not assimilate. They seem to have no where to go and stand on the side walk all day. Get out of Paris and see the small towns which represent true French culture. Paris was shut down from protesters most days I was there.

Hi. Beautiful video, as always. You created a new series, on your channel, to see if mass tourism, or what they show in the information media, in general is true, or not, or what? Keep going. Now, go to London, and compare it with Paris.
