Any idea how to merge animated layers or apply the same path to both? I can’t seem to merge animated layers, and when I copy a paste a path, even a simple one, they don’t line up.
I use both Procreate and Fresco. It's a bit of an awkward workflow, but I like the quickness of Procreate for sketches. It's easy to just pull up a canvas and sketch out an idea in Procreate. I'm probably just more used to the layout, but the interface is really easy to use for drawing. I'll then save the file as a pdf and send it to Fresco where I'll use Vector brushes to ink it. When I want to do my best line work though I use Clip Studio Paint. Its brush engine is just superior to any other program I've used. For commercial stuff I always finish it in CSP, and if it needs to be vectorized, I'll do an image trace of my line work.
@@GodisGood941 not at all. I think they each have their advantages. I like the modifier tool in Fresco. It makes a lot of sense, especially for Vector work. I like CSP's brush engine the best. It feels the most natural to how I draw and ink. But I primarily do graphic style ink work. For painterly work, I haven't really explored the differences between the three of them to make a judgement. But Procreate is by far the easiest "get out of your way and just draw/paint" interface between the three of them. I will say, the layers limitation can be annoying, where CSP handles many more layers without issue. For a very large piece for print, CSP or Fresco are going to be much better due to the lesser limitations and the ability to scale vectors.
I do love Fresco, but I also like Procreate. I think Procreate is great for just lose sketching and lose digital painting because of how easy it is to use. Fresco is very good for more professional stuff because of it's connection to the Adobe CC. You should really do a Adobe Fresco/Illustrator class from zero to hero type thing. @@chris-piascikTry 9.99 a month! I love playing in fresco and was ready to switch until I figured out I can’t use the photoshop brushes I already own unless I pay $80/year. This is a great video. Thank you. My undergrad degree is in figure drawing (!) but I became a graphic designer to make a living. Im now a teacher of both design and drawing. So I always think that vector art is superior to pixel art for scaling reasons. It’s taken a few months to break down my resistance to the pixel brushes. I appreciate your channel because you always talk about the applicable uses of both kinds of brushes. I recommend your channel to all of my students. I only spend a semester w them but your videos can be useful for years after my class. Thanks again.
The "live" water and oil brush systems in Fresco are _amazing_ in my opinion. I haven't used Corel Painter in many years, it may have gotten really good in recent times, but man.. The water colour in Fresco is insane. After some practice you can really push those pigments around in a way that feels very natural.
I am a die hard corel fan. I have the most recent one and I am upgrading my computer to run it. but then I found rebelle 7, and omg its amazing. the water effects, the metallic paint. and the oils! its making me switch. (I got my copy of corel off of humble bundle so I dont feel bad about how much I paid for it)
I bought Corel Painter in 2020 as someone that had used it a lot previously. The next week they released Corel Painter 2021 (or whatever) and it bricked the version I had just bought. I never went back to it.
I started using Fresco because of your videos, and I haven't gone back to Procreate since. Procreate is a great program, but the experience in Fresco combined with easy compatiblity with both Photoshop and Illustrator is just so good and makes for easier workflows. And oh my god you're right that vector trimming is *chef's kiss* Oh, and smoothing > streamline by a mile.
Yep, gotta agree on the smoothing bit. I tried recreating a handwritten logo sketch in Procreate and spent upwards of half an hour trying to get the brush dynamics to give me the same flow that Fresco's vector brush with tapering on both sides has. They seem to have smoothing locked in better whereas Procreate gives almost too much customization which makes it harder to get right.
I am going to have to look into Fresco...at least for my PC(my tablet is still really good and don't wanna get an ipad). This may be my perfect place between Ai, Ps, and An. I'm glad this video popped up. I get my value out of CC but forget to explore everything I have access to.
Have always used procreate and have only recently been trying out adobe fresco and so far I’m liking it especially the vector as I always found it annoying having jagged edges to my art when I zoomed in. Very helpful and useful video
I'm a Procreate stan from way back. to the point where I barely even clocked Fresco's existence. But I somehow found myself watching this video, and before it was even finished, had Fresco downloading and ready to trial out since I use the Adobe suite for my day to day photo and video editing already. Thanks for the heads up and the simple breakdown of the fascinating features mate!
I have both Photoshop and Fresco, and I hate them both for the same reason. I can’t stand the UI 🤷🏾 As far as I’m concerned, NOTHING beats Procreate’s user interface!❤️🔥 I only use Photoshop, when I absolutely HAVE to! But I’ve been using Illustrator for my vectors, because I didn’t know about fresco. So next time I need vector lines, I will definitely give fresco a try!
To each their own - I can’t get used to Procreate UI. 😅 I have been using Procreate for years and found this video and immediately felt at home. I’ll still use both as competition keeps Adobe on their heels.
@@anagrahn That’s what I say. To each his reach💫 Procreate used to be over my head as well. Now, for some krazy reason, Procreate makes me feel like I’m sketching in my sketchbook. I can’t explain it.🤷🏾 And Procreate Dreams makes me feel super relaxed, like I’m ANIMATING in my sketchbook! But you’re right, Procreate is ONLY for those that “get” the massive power of its interface. There’s a zillion other apps out there everyone else. Many are even FREE!
i just buy (2 days ago) ipad pro 13" m4 and i think i will start learning with Adobe Fresco, because i need learn all stuff. And i dont wanna waste time for Procreate. When i will learn basic stuff i can do more with adobe illiustrator or everyting i need later.
I use procreate almost daily as just kind of my digital sketchbook... but I used fresco for a specific project when I was asked to do an illustration for a beer can. I wasn't as used to it as i am procreate, but that vector sketch stuff was what I've been wishing was a thing for years! After that project I went back to procreate just for comforts sake, but this video has me thinking why not give fresco a bit more of my time. Great vid man! You have a new fan!
Procreate interface is really intuitive and simple to use and I love it. However, due to your videos I gave Fresco another look and love it also. They are both great programs. I use both and I am consistently blown away by the functionality and experience provided by both. Great vid, your channel has grown a ton since I subbed and I knew it would happen. Awesome content as usual. 👍
CHRIS! THANK YOUUU!! You’re guidance has been key in my job as a graphic designer for DTF printed t-shirts; your recommendations are the best and the way you teach takes the stress out allowing creativity to flood my half roasted brain cells; thank you thank you you’re an amazing teacher 🙏🏽
I use both and like both. I used to only use Procreate, but after watching your videos I started messing around with Fresco, now I use it when I do tattoo stencils. Works great because of the vector scaling. I can blow up or shrink a stencil and not loose any quality 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much for this. I am learning/improving my drawing and have been struggling to know which program to use... so far I prefer fresco so I will definitely be sticking with it after learning the differences. thanks so much for your help
Love your videos and personality! I’ve been a loyal procreate user since 2018, but continuously find a need for vector. Not being formally trained with vector points and the awkward flow of mouse click drawing, I love the ability to simply draw in vector with Fresco and my Apple Pencil. I have you to thank for sharing your knowledge on UA-cam…it’s what caught my attention on Fresco. Thank you Chris🤘
I love Procreate I have been using it for a month short of seven years. I am interested in fresco because it’s vector and there are times that’s needed. After watching your video I think I am definitely going to have to try Fresco
The vector trimming is life!! Also, just as note on the fresco cost... I'm a photographer who also started playing with graphics recently and my kids are learning adobe products so we have the student Adobe membership (same stuff just cheaper) and it covers every single Adobe app, which means fresco was a perk already included when I discovered it even existed!
I'm a professional designer and I settled into using fresco for work related projects, but procreate for fun and practice. I used to only use Fresco, until a few months ago. Procreate just feels more fun to me, for some reason.
As a hobbyist and someone who wants to learn more, Procreate has been awesome but you’ve totally sold me, especially since I can start for free. Great video, bless the algorithm
I saw the title and was like "nope not switching, I love procreate, I have brushes, I know what I'm doing" but I also keep an open mind because my current workflow is TRASH. I end up using 5 or 6 apps. VectorizeAI is better than auto trace, Affinity Designer is better for live pattern editing, sketching is better in Procreate. Illustrator is great but I prefer working on an iPad that sitting at a computer desk. So I tried Fresco I love the vector drawing and ability to trim and send files to Illustrator I may have to switch.
Unrelated but Vector Magic is the absolute king of auto-trace. It has a hefty pricetag though and if you're only using it to vectorize your art, may as well go with Fresco. Designer sure is a beautiful software for some things, I really love their efforts though it's obviously not yet there, having a much smaller team than AI's (pun intended seeing the new shennanigans Adobe is pulling with their Terms of Service.. ugh). Brand loyalty should not be a thing, or at least be rational. Use what you end up liking most, and have most fun with
I haven’t watched this yet (except for your first sentence), but it’s so great to see this! I have been trying to use Procreate for a while, but when I actually need to get something done, I always find myself opening up Fresco. I wish more people used it, because it’s amazing, and the more people are using it, the more new features and updates there will be. I’m sad there are so few tutorials on it. Maybe I need to make some myself. 💗
@@chris-piascik Wow! Good to know! I haven’t noticed that, but I’m also not asking for a lot. It’s a beautiful app. I just notice that when I try to find resources to improve my skills, I find very little.
I’ve just started with Procreate, 4 weeks. I am so amazed at the ease of drawing on glass! But you have caught my attention. I have struggled for years with saving, exporting, importing, unzipping, etc. The time alone I would save with Fresco is attractive. The motion layers, the color change to all not just each layer, and the unlimited layers. I`m sorry, but for what I do, I’m heading over to Fresco today! Thanks so much for a very clear review of the differences.
One thing that make fresco way better in my opinion is compatiblity. I have a lenovo yoga laptop that is use for work, and it supports the lenovo active pen 2, so i wanted to try digital art without spending money, and fresco was the best digital art app that i found that works and looks well on a 2 in 1 laptop.
Glad I came across this at the beginning of my journey to add my iPad to my design flow. I think this will be a more efficient tool to learn than Procreate right now.
Awesome video, especially when your head floated across the screen. I love all of the effort, detail and humor you put into your videos. Inspired as per usual!!!
Haha thank you so much! I complain all the time about being stressed due to time and yet I find myself making things like that for my videos. Lol. I’m glad you appreciate it!
That has nothing to do with the stuff I talked about in this video. There’s a lot of confusion about what is actually going away. It has nothing to do with fresco files and the ability to go back and forth with the other apps, it’s just the supplemental file storage system Adobe included for sharing files with others, etc. Many people didn’t even use this feature.
i remember donwloading fresco to just ’draw for fun’ back in 2020 because it was free! four years later, and still using the free version lol, i’ve done several paid illustration projects and hoping for more in the future :) wish more people know about this! i do feel the procreate fomo though HAHA :’)
IMO vector trimming and the animation (motion) workflow blows Procreate out of the water! I literally had no idea Fresco existed until last month when a coworker suggested I use it on a project (have had Creative Cloud for years). I was able to easily replicate a fully rasterized Procreate scene with Fresco vector brushes, along with your gritty presets! Thanks to your channel, I was able to incorporate Fresco into my workflow flawlessly, and now it's my go-to drawing/frame-by-frame animation app. Thanks for all the help!
Thank you for a balanced video. You didn’t bash Procreate, which I currently use, but instead tell why Fresco works best for you. I have both (I’m a photographer by trade, so I have the full Adobe suite), so I’ll have to give Fresco a try.
I am trying to get into drawing again, and Procreate has been sort of frustrating for me. I haven’t been opening the app as much as I’d like to say I have been. I was an Adobe suite user way back in the ol college days, and after watching this video I think Fresco sounds like it’ll work better with my previous knowledge. I just downloaded it and I’m excited to try it out! Thank you for this informative and well thought out video. I’m sorry to hear that you catch a lot of flack from some, but equally I admire how you seem to process it through humor. I look forward to learning more from you about Fresco!
@@chris-piascik I can live without it. My workflow is blender plus procreate/procreate dreams and that is more than adequate. Adobe blew it with me when they promised a fully operational Photoshop for iPad Pro and never delivered. Originally that was the main reason I got an iPad Pro. Adobe is a paid standard that people think they need but really don’t.
@@jsunsherman72 Oof, yeah that's an asshole tactic. All their mobile apps, even on beefy iPads which can go toe to toe with actual desktops, are feature starved and should be titled as such e.g. Photoshop Lite, Lightroom Lite. I too was let down when seeing how much stuff is missing, Photoshop especially is laughably generic.
@@jsunsherman72Just curious what apps you use instead of Adobe apps? I’m using a mix of RawPower as my first stop to do LR stuff, Photomator if needed, and Affinity Photo for PS type stuff (rarely).
I understand your point and i guess you are right. Especially for Professionals like you. I think for the most people works Procreate still well. Its easy to learn and maybe better for beginners. The most features you speak about are not that important for people who want to draw from time to time.
Other than Procreate I love ArtStudio Pro. It has a lot of the stuff Procreate is missing like adjustment layers. You can import .abr brushes and unlike in Procreate the brushes work like they’re supposed to. Also ArtStudio Pro’s new pigment engine allows you to paint like you would in real life, mixing different colors together to make new ones.
I'm going to try Fresco; you had me at the animation features. I started in Procreate and often struggled with adding little things in the background. It was unsatisfying, and I believe it hindered my creative potential due to the awkwardness of including elements afterward. I was excited about Dreams, but my workflow heavily relies on reference layers and the selection tool, making my first experience challenging. Also, managing the timeline and moving multiple elements is something I'm struggling with. Perhaps with future updates, I'll revisit Dreams, as the features in your videos align with what I'm currently seeking for smaller animations. So thanks!
I never used Procreate until recently beccause I just got an iPad 10th gen, last one was 1st gen iPad Mini. But these days I used Photoshop for sketch and Illustrator to clean up, then used Clip Pro Paint for the razter and vector combination and now I learning Freco can do this too, it could speed up my productive.
I'm a comic book artist and have been using Procreate exclusively for a bit now to do all my panel art. I may give Fresco a go. As a graphic designer as well, the incorporation of vector and raster work within the same program intrigues me.
Thank you for the education! I am shopping around for the best digital art app and didn’t even come across Fresco subscription until your video. I was ready to pay 5x more for the other adobe apps but when you mentioned fresco has great animation feature, im sold! So thanks for sharing! 💕😊
Thanks for this. I’m starting out and have been using Procreate but used Fresco prior to this. I’m not confident with Adobe but think I may give it a go as the pixelation in Procreate is driving me crazy. Lots to learn!
This was a helpful video. As someone who wants to make larger pieces, I'm limited by Procreate. Will definitely will check out Fresco! Thanks for creating an updated version
Honestly? I'm stoked to try out Fresco. Being able to use "blob brushes" in Illustrator (circa 2010's) with something pressure sensitive is something I miss desperately since I switched away from Wacom tablets. I've used Procreate for years, and I'd love to just go back to something vector-based and fun like this.

I do a lot of animation with procreate and the thing that really piss me off is the layers limitation. I have to merge layers, split my animations … it’s really annoying, boring, time consuming… I was considering buying the ipad pro wit 1T for the extra amount of ram allowing to increase this number of layers… And for this very reason but also for the timelines and the vector power even if I hate adobe your video convinced me to give it a try ! A little bit. It seems like a great app, just doesn’t seem like enough to make me switch from Fresco. It also doesn’t have the great motion features Fresco has.

Man am I glad I happened across your videos. I’m super stoked to try Fr. Thank you. Also, your videos are a riot, subtle hilarity, well done.
I will be trying fresco! Thanks for the video for I think the layer problem and adjustment layer issue in procreate is a big one since I've been a photoshop user for 10 years of my life
BAM! And just like that your thumbnail was undeniable. Showed up as the most attention grabbing among the top 6 suggestions on my homepage. I saw your instagram post. You made the right call. Wish I could show you a screenshot. Great content.
Great video! I did not know how better Fresco got in the last year! I'll be getting it for sure! Pricing is not bad at all! Thanks for sharing this info!
Procreate is still very nice despite a lot of things missing in many departments. Main things that annoy me are layer management being VERY basic and the lack of any non destructive adjustments. Main reason I still use it is the amount of brushes that have become go to brushes to archieve a specific look, plus the easy of use and lack of clutter. Fresco is very good and I have used it now and then, but the familiarity or lack there of as well as the less familiar brushes keeps me jumping to Procreate. If I were to start from scratch I would probably lean towards Fresco for its more advanced layer management stuff and the more user friendly anaimation things. I do wish there was a desktop Mac version though, as I can not get along with Photoshop and don't want to spend a lot of money on a CC sub.
I have used Fresco for some time and it’s nowhere compared to Procreate as it’s laggy like other Adobe products. Procreate is buttery smooth and feature rich! And it’s one time payment and that includes future updates as well!
Fresco is definitely not laggy. It doesn’t even lag with complex files on my iPad mini. I’m assuming maybe you had the smoothing turned all the way up and weren’t used to how Fresco corrects as you draw which appears as a lag if it’s maxed out.
Great review! Folks got so much emotion over an app?! I'm a designer/animator 1/3 Branding, 1/3 illustration, 1/3 animation. I never rocked with Procreate, as it seemed to be a solid drawing and animation app but clunky integration for my pro workflow. I use like 3-4 adobe apps daily. We've worked for some of the same brands and overlap stylistically, so I'm very glad I came across your breakdowns. Probably the most relevant breakdown I've watched. Nothing wrong with pointing out the Pros and promoting what you think is the better app. I've been waiting for Adobe to drop something like this. I think it's going to take my work up a notch.

Try Rebelle 7. The live watercolor and oils are amazing beyond belief.
I am a die hard corel fan. I have the most recent one and I am upgrading my computer to run it. but then I found rebelle 7, and omg its amazing. the water effects, the metallic paint. and the oils! its making me switch. (I got my copy of corel off of humble bundle so I dont feel bad about how much I paid for it)
@@InkandPaintMagik I've seen that one, hope they make an iPad version of it. Sold my Cintiq ages ago, sadly...
And oh my god you're right that vector trimming is *chef's kiss*
Oh, and smoothing > streamline by a mile.
Thanks Chad-you're definitely the good one!
What is the holder you have your iPad in? I want one. That looks way easier and natural to draw on holding the iPad.
I also like the vector capability of fresco for screen printing
Glad this was helpful!
Have always used procreate and have only recently been trying out adobe fresco and so far I’m liking it especially the vector as I always found it annoying having jagged edges to my art when I zoomed in. Very helpful and useful video
Great to hear!
I have CC but never heard of Fresco until I started watching your videos. I've learned so much... thank you!
Happy to help!
Happy to help! Still love Procreate, I just don’t find myself using it much since Fresco just does everything I need.
I have both Photoshop and Fresco, and I hate them both for the same reason. I can’t stand the UI 🤷🏾
As far as I’m concerned, NOTHING beats Procreate’s user interface!❤️🔥
I only use Photoshop, when I absolutely HAVE to!
To each his reach💫
Procreate used to be over my head as well. Now, for some krazy reason, Procreate makes me feel like I’m sketching in my sketchbook. I can’t explain it.🤷🏾
And Procreate Dreams makes me feel super relaxed, like I’m ANIMATING in my sketchbook!
Thank you!!!!
Makes me wanna switch immediately - thanks a lot!
Glad it was informative!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much!!
I use both and like both. I used to only use Procreate, but after watching your videos I started messing around with Fresco, now I use it when I do tattoo stencils. Works great because of the vector scaling. I can blow up or shrink a stencil and not loose any quality 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this. I am learning/improving my drawing and have been struggling to know which program to use... so far I prefer fresco so I will definitely be sticking with it after learning the differences. thanks so much for your help
Glad I could help! 😊
That’s nice to hear, thank you!
I love Procreate I have been using it for a month short of seven years. I am interested in fresco because it’s vector and there are times that’s needed. After watching your video I think I am definitely going to have to try Fresco
Cool, glad this was informative!
Thank you! I’m a current Procreate user/professional artist as my career. I’m starting to learn Fresco for many of the reasons you mention here.
Glad it was helpful!
Yes Fresco has become the main tool for my drawing, pen sensivity and other features are much more similar to Photoshop.
Aweseome perspective. thanks! Ill try out fresco
Thanks!
Flash trimmed vectors better than any app in existence and they killed it.
I don’t think I knew that! Ty!
@@chris-piascik yw! It's a great deal!
I'm a professional designer and I settled into using fresco for work related projects, but procreate for fun and practice. I used to only use Fresco, until a few months ago. Procreate just feels more fun to me, for some reason.
Thanks reasonable, fun is a very important aspect!
As a hobbyist and someone who wants to learn more, Procreate has been awesome but you’ve totally sold me, especially since I can start for free. Great video, bless the algorithm
I'm sold. I'll try it out.
👍👍
Use what you end up liking most, and have most fun with
Adobe Illustrator for iPad is Trash
the vector stuff blows my mind! so great
Agreed!
They actually update it very often! It’s been every 6 weeks for a while now.
@@chris-piascik Wow! Good to know! I haven’t noticed that, but I’m also not asking for a lot. It’s a beautiful app. I just notice that when I try to find resources to improve my skills, I find very little.
@@chris-piascik I just saved your playlist, looking forward to watching! ❤️
You are so welcome!
One thing that make fresco way better in my opinion is compatiblity. I have a lenovo yoga laptop that is use for work, and it supports the lenovo active pen 2, so i wanted to try digital art without spending money, and fresco was the best digital art app that i found that works and looks well on a 2 in 1 laptop.
oh nice!
Glad I came across this at the beginning of my journey to add my iPad to my design flow. I think this will be a more efficient tool to learn than Procreate right now.
Glad it was helpful!
I love Fresco. My big thing is I can use it on my workstation, my 2 in 1 laptop, etc. I had an ipad for procreate only and now it collects dust.
👍
I too know the pain of having an old video be my most popular. Swords, demons, pizza... I trust these things. You have earned my trust!
Haha thanks! 🤝
Adobe Creative Cloud Sync will be discontinued on February 1st
Hah nice!
Is Fresco have symetry drawing fiture?
Thank you for a balanced video. You didn’t bash Procreate, which I currently use, but instead tell why Fresco works best for you. I have both (I’m a photographer by trade, so I have the full Adobe suite), so I’ll have to give Fresco a try.
Of course! I think Procreate is a fantastic app, just wanted to share this stuff about Fresco because a lot of people don’t know about it.
Im not paying one cent for Adobe products, period.
Well it is free for 90% of the features.
That’s reasonable!
Agreed. I especially love how snappy Fresco is. Procreate is weirdly slow with many brushes, with the stroke lagging behind your stylus.
Oh cool, you can mix colors like that in Fresco too. It gives the ability to maintain the new color you made or reload upon lift.
Vector art rocks !!!!
So thanks!
You’re welcome!!
I just want/need Adobe to make symmetry available. That’s all. I’m just a girl begging a giant company to do this ONE THING.
Haha it’s coming very soon! Kyle Webster has been testing it!
👍👍👍
EXACTLY the video I needed to see! Subscribed and totally stoked!
Thanks!
10 bucks a month:(
Nope, Free for most features. 9.99 per year for Premium version. I talk about this in the video.
@@chris-piascik oh my bad . Must of missed that .. cool ! Multi taking not a good idea .. you miss things lol
We in Germany have to pay every month. So for us fresco is much more expensive (12x!) than for you in the US.😢
Procreate is a one shot deal 😊
@@anneneumann3727 sucks
I'm a comic book artist and have been using Procreate exclusively for a bit now to do all my panel art. I may give Fresco a go. As a graphic designer as well, the incorporation of vector and raster work within the same program intrigues me.
Glad this was helpful!
Thank you for the education! I am shopping around for the best digital art app and didn’t even come across Fresco subscription until your video. I was ready to pay 5x more for the other adobe apps but when you mentioned fresco has great animation feature, im sold! So thanks for sharing! 💕😊
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely going to check out Fresco. Do use procreate currently but I’m curious about the features you proposed. Thanks! 👍🏻
I own both and was a diehard procreate fan, but this video sold me on trying out Fresco. Much appreciated!
Glad you liked it!
Holy moly, thanks for this video. The animation section got me
No worries, glad it was informative!
Cool! It is such a fun way to work in vector.
God, this just saved me money! I was planning to buy procreate dreams just to do simple motion graphics… but knowing that it’s possible to do the stuff i’m planning to do on fresco made me want to invest learning fresco!! thank you so much for this 🤘
Glad I could help!
I just downloaded FR and I am a HUGE lover of Procreate dreams and procreate, I downloaded this today because I have all of the adobe programs and though "hey if I have all the programs and this can make workflow better between all of them I am going to give it a shot!" I will let yea know how it goes!
I'm always wondered why procreate doesn't have vector version! But I found this video! Thank you buddy for amazing explanation and video! I haven't used fresco still downloading but now I'm sure It's amazing app. Again Thank you so much you're amazing!
Glad I could help!
Im a die-hard Procreate user. BUT, I do need to get better at using vectors. I'll be trying out Fresco and seeing how it goes. I can't see myself every giving up Procreate, but i'm always wanting more tools in my artist toolbox!
Cool! More tools is always a good thing!
I'm just starting my creative adventure, with an old Wacom Bamboo, and I'm quite glad to have found your channel. I've only been usin' Photoshop some years ago for digital art for forum avatars and such, but Fresco sounds exactly what I want right now. Lookin' forward to all your videos about it!
Not too big on subscription models for apps, but c'mon, 10/year? At times, I had 3x the price for my phone a month! I might just give it a shot to start with already.
Thanks for the comment, glad my channel has been helpful!
Thank you! Youve convinced me to try it. Especially since photoshop is fhe industry standard, i figure this is a good one to be comfortable with.
Happy to help!
I do a lot of animation with procreate and the thing that really piss me off is the layers limitation. I have to merge layers, split my animations … it’s really annoying, boring, time consuming…
I was considering buying the ipad pro wit 1T for the extra amount of ram allowing to increase this number of layers…
And for this very reason but also for the timelines and the vector power even if I hate adobe your video convinced me to give it a try ! Thx a lot !
Happy to help! Even my iPad mini seems to have no problem with some of my Fresco files with 10-20 layers with motion.
Watched this video after the first procreate v fresco and was immediately blown away by the upgrade in recording quality. The background suits you and all your jokes and animations landed perfectly on me 😂 you got my sub from this one alone.
p.s. there was a LOT of good info from the previous breakdown video.
Oh cool thanks so much!
I have a Dell Inspiron convertible laptop - so I have no chance at Procreate anyway! I can't thank you enough for introducing me to Fresco!
Happy to help!
@3:15 you have no idea how excited I am for that after logos and digital art in AL for the last 19 years that is a huge time saver lmao. Glad I found your video
I’m going to check out Fresco again. It was underwhelming some years back but the vector part really interests me.
Yeah, it’s come a long way since it launched.
This channel is brilliant! Really enjoy the content you put out.
Thank you!
Your video has a professional look with that lighting! Also very informative.
hey Chris, this is a great review and you sold me on fresco but have you tried affinity designer for iPad? if so, what are your thoughts on it?
A little bit. It seems like a great app, just doesn’t seem like enough to make me switch from Fresco. It also doesn’t have the great motion features Fresco has.
I'm sold, or rather, I'm going to use it as part of my adobe suite. Had no idea how awesome it was. Many thanks
Great to hear!
I like and use Fresco more because the tilt is much more effective and natural and it allows me to do more with just one brush.
👍
Your videos saved my design career. Adobe Fresco made it easier for me to design and put my imagination into digital masterpiece.
I don't know why my friends aren't familiar with Adobe Fresco.
Wow, thanks so much! Happy I could help!
Thank you, I use Procreate for my illustrations but the lack of vectors can be annoying. I might give fresco a go.
Have fun! 😎
I dip into Fresco every month or so when I need to do vector illustration or want to do animation on motion path etc and pleasantly surprised to see certain basic features added in. Today i noticed you can actually do skew transforms now
👍👍
Oh wow. I never knew Fresco had vector capabilities. That’s a game changer. And being able to use motion paths is great too.
agreed!
Super informative, thanks for the video
Glad you think so!
UHM HELLOO - I'm totally convinced! Always a little scared of the learning curve with a new program (esp cuz I'm feeling quite comfortable with Procreate and Dreams now) BUT absolutely want to get into Fresco - mostly for the vector brushes but lots of the things you mentioned sound amazing! And also really looking forward to exploring your videos - just found you when searching for Fresco but I find the way you explain things really helpful AND I love your designs!
Thanks so much! I can definitely relate but was ultimately glad I took the leap when I started exploring Fresco (before it was even called fresco 😅). I’m glad this was helpful.
I love procreate however, I did get Fr once but I did not use it but after watching your video I may pulled from my cloud and take the time to check it out. Thanks.
Glad I could help!
Holy crap! I had no idea Fr even existed. I’ve been stuck in Procreate world for years now, just figured it was the best so why bother looking at anything else. Man am I glad I happened across your videos. I’m super stoked to try Fr. Thank you. Also, your videos are a riot, subtle hilarity, well done.
Thank you 😎😊
I will be trying fresco! Thanks for the video for I think the layer problem and adjustment layer issue in procreate is a big one since I've been a photoshop user for 10 years of my life
Glad it was helpful!
The fact that fresco has motion paths (which is something I’ve asked for procreate dreams) is enough to get me to download it.
It’s such a handy feature
BAM! And just like that your thumbnail was undeniable. Showed up as the most attention grabbing among the top 6 suggestions on my homepage. I saw your instagram post. You made the right call. Wish I could show you a screenshot. Great content.
Oh cool, thank you so much!
Great video! I did not know how better Fresco got in the last year! I'll be getting it for sure! Pricing is not bad at all! Thanks for sharing this info!
thank you!
Happy to help!
Thank's for this video. I tried fresco a while ago when it released, might give it another go after watching this
Ah yeah it’s come a long way.
That all makes a lot of sense.
I use procreate and affinity designer, I’m definitely going to try fresco.
Cool, hope it works out for you!
Thanks for the comment, glad this was helpful. It is wild how upset people get about this stuff, lol. 🤝
Ok I’m sold!
Glad this was useful!
