Right!? I’m so happy not every is a speed reader I can read faster but I just don’t like it. I feel like I’m rushing I like to enjoy and marinate in what I’m reading.
oh gosh that is such a relief because yesterday i was beating myself up for reading like 50 pages of A Gathering of Shadows. i am just a really slow reader who gets distracted v e r y easily
Hii , a tip from me , what I do with long books like that , just as I did with the song of Ice and fire series , when they give you a list of characters at the end take the time before starting the book to make a large "family tree" or multiple ones for the kingdoms and families involved, and as the story progresses write down the ways that they are related and stuff it's really helpful ... A lot of work but honestly the only way for me to get through the beginning of such books ♥
I read this book and loved it so much! I actually personally found the pacing really good, there was always new and interesting information given so there wasn’t really any slow parts. Some characters I didn’t care about in the beginning but by the middle I was like omg I love all these characters!!!!
@@KK-jl8em that's the whole point of my main comment. I don't like reading bunch of stories at the same time, not that I'm not capable of reading them. Don't know why it bothered you so much. I think you might need to read some more books, seems like you can't understand what you read.
Omg that is so interesting! We had the complete opposite favourite characters/pov's In the beginning of The Priory of the Orange Tree! It's so interesting how different people like different things about books!
Hi. I just started to watch ur channel and it makes me feel good to know there are other people who adore books as much as I do. I am 12 and really want to read "priory of the orange tree" it sounds very interesting.
Keep up your motivation!! I’m almost 16 and the biggest thing I regret is losing my motivation to read and not doing it very much for like a year and a half😔 Thankfully I’m getting back into it though!
Such a lovely vlog! I have The Priory book sitting on my shelf, but I think I will pick it up in the summer time. Glad to hear you are enjoying it 😊 And well done getting so much read 👏
300 pages in 24 hrs, I’d say that’s dedication! 💛 Although I’ve never read a book with mature/older characters before so that may be a factor of the time spent reading besides the writing style.
this was awesome! this was my first video of yours and I had such a great time- you have such a calming and quirky presence! I'm glad you're enjoying Priory, it was one of my favorite books I read last year (and I love Sabran and Ead so much too!)
This was the perfect time for you to pop up in my recommended feed because I’m planning on reading Priory for a readathon in April. This was a fun video, thanks!!
I really liked this book especially the world and character building is probably the best I've read. I do agree that it took me around 150 pages to get into it, but it was worth the wait a slow read but an essential ones.
Very cool video! Loved the intro! I did a 24h readathon a few days ago and it was a struggle, it took my 6 hours to finish the last 200 pages that i had left of a book (i dont read fast at all, but i read faster than 200/6h lol)
had loads of fun participating in this readathon (even if I didn’t read that much oops)! Hope you do more live-streams with Sabine in the future, I’ll be tuning in again :)
I've been stuck in the middle of priory for about six months now (just too many characters) and you gave me the inspiration to try and keep reading it!
Alchemy? Girl , if you haven't read Name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss already, please do! That book is amazing and right up your alley based on what your tastes! I highly recommend it.
Priory is definitely a book I want to read but aw man I could never read half of it in a day! Props to you for trying though and getting as far as you did!!! That’s awesome
hey there! Not a lot of anatomy or alchemy but in The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, one of our main character, the one we actually see most of our main characters, was training to become a surgeon but ended up in the army! We do have a bunch of scenes that focus on the surgeon aspect! It is 1007 pages tho! I do recommend it! (Actually picked it up after Priory of the Orange tree!) - also loved your vlog!
Oh my! i have never done this, being a part of 24 hours readathon. Seems like this is something I should give it a try to. And Orange of the Priory Tree has been there on my TBR and I have a proof copy, gosh don’t know why I didn’t read it 😱
I love big thick books siting outside reading it when your half way through it and everyone looks at you like it make you feel intelligent as hell, books are like cloths only you don’t wear books.
I love the yellow aesthetic of this vlog and your editing style! And I definitely feel you on the slow reading pace of Priory. I got two chapters in and set it aside for now because it was such a dense read. I need to pick it back up again. I really want to read it but it's definitely an intimidating book. Have you finished it yet? Did you like it overall?
I neeeeed to upload my vlog asap omg, loved this vlog Leonie & loved hosting this read-athon together with you ❤️ can’t wait to host something together with you in the (near) future 🥰
I am so glad you said at the beginning your aim was to read half of Priory because I saw this thumbnail and was about to flip a table if you managed to read the entire thing in 24 HOURS ahahaha. It's one of my faves but nope, I cannot This was such a fab vlog!!
The Montegue siblings' books by Mackenzi Lee have a female character that is interested in alchemy and is mainly about late 1700 alchemy/medicine mixed with pirates and sarcasm. The books are on Storytel and the Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue is one of the funniest audiobooks I've listened to, great to listen to while doing chores/biking etc!
Any time I've done a 24 hour readathon it's never been on purpose so I honestly admire anyone who is able to keep it up for that long, especially with a physical book. I know I can't be the only one that feels guilty for just sitting down and reading when I know I could probably be doing "better" things with my time?
Ik heb jouw channel net ontdekt en ik wilde even zeggen dat ik het echt geweldig vind. Bedankt om jouw passie voor boeken te delen! Groetjes uit België 😘
My sister lives in the Netherlands and for Christmas in 2018 she got me some of the Tony Chocolonely bars and they are honestly AMAZING! It's sad you guys don't get Cadburys and things over there though.
Heuj Leiden (: Ik herkende het direct toen ik Molen de Valk zag in de preview, haha. Ik denk er ook aan om The priory of the orange tree op te pakken maar het is nogal intimiderend tbh
One one hand I'm glad I got this as an e-book and didn't realize it had a glossary and everything because that meant I just kept on pushing forward through the first 200 pages and just accepted being confused, but I really wish I could know what my experience would have been if I had read abt the characters when getting to know them or when they reappeared and I had no idea who they were haha
Your videos always make me miss my year in the Netherlands (Maastricht), which is weird bc you're like... mostly at home. Still, it feels cozy and I like it, lol.
