I’m Dave Chambers’ son, I just wanted to say thanks for keeping this out there and cleaning it up, I know it means a lot to my Dad that someone is keeping this out there. Also for what it’s worth, my Dad and George started jamming in college and then they came to Detroit in the late Sixties and that’s when they started Shadowfax at first as a Trio with Bill.
@Graffitiworkrob Yeah, absolutely! I hope you and Dave both know how for me, it's an honor to keep great music alive for good people to hear. It's funny how bands are connected, though, isn't it? I mean if I weren't a Steve Gaines/Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, I never would've heard of Shadowfax, or Cactus for that matter. I love discovering new bands/artists through bands/artists I'm already a big fan of. And keep an eye out on my channel. There might (keyword being, "Might,") be one more recording of Bill Hodgson coming soon, an from a very unlikely source! Not going to tell you what it is, other than how it involves Bill playing live on Christmas Day 1981 with a friend or of his. Stay tuned!
This recording featured Dave Opatik on vocals and rhythm guitar, Bill Hodgson on vocals and lead guitar, George Korinek on vocals and bass, Dave Chambers on drums and Tim Sparling on the Alvin's Grinnell Bros. upright piano. Thanks to Phil Kile for the original engineering and front of house audio at Alvin's.
@timsparling4521 Hello, Tim! It's an honor to meet ya here. Excellent keyboard playing on here, by the way! DO you know where (or if) I could find any other recordings of Bill Hodgson's Shadowfax out there? This is the only recording of that particular band I coiuld find anywhere. I seem to recall being told once about how they were originally formed around 1970 or so, before Bill joined the Detroit band with Cactus's Rusty Day and Skynyrd's Steve Gaines?
