Folks, heres how you play this tune:
    One--- play the 6ths here
    Two--- Play E to Am
    Three--- Play the kicker
    Four--- Play the clash chord
    Five--- The walkdown
If ever I believe my work is done, then I start back at one

I’ve always wanted to know how to play this intro... never thought you would actually take the time to break it down for us. Can’t put into words how great this is...thank you sir you are great and the music you have shared over the years is timeless. I’ll probably never meet you and I doubt you’ll read this but you have always been a great inspiration to me. Thank you 👍🏾

This helped a lot. Made it sound so much more dynamic. Thank you.
For those of you having trouble following this, try and learn a simplified version first. It's much easier to pick up the nuances after you got the basic chords down first.

It's good to play, but it is far more important to analyse what Brian is playing to use this patterns in other songs and to build your own vocabulary! I've learned some new chords) Thanks a lot, Brian!

Mind blowing concert, but I was so guttered that I never got to meet you due to all the cd's & teez that were sold out that night that everyone needed to have in order to meet you. I'm put'n together a medley with your songs that I hope you can check out when it's ready & I hope you come back again soon! Much love & God bless... D

This was obviously aimed at more advanced players, not for "note-for-note" readers. As an "advanced" pianist myself, It even took me a good 10mins to finally understand the full thing! Anyway here's my take on the chord structures:
Emaj7, F#/G#, C#m7 - F#9, then the whole 69 chord progression on the first inversion (RH: F#-G-F-F# & LH: D#-E-D-D#, adding the 6 & 9 notes below the RH notes)....
....C#m7 (with the dissonant D on LH too), chromatic down to D# into a D#7(#9), G#m7 - G#m7/F#, F7(#9b5) with the arpeggio on that chord......
    ......C#m7, Bsus2/D#, E6/7, C#m7/F#.....then the last beauty: F#7(b9)
    Hope this makes sense!
Thanks Brian McKnight for creating such a beautiful lil jazzy ballad intro!! Love it!

"advanced'...ok JAMTASM if this took you 10 min, you obviously are not advanced. There's nothing difficult about what he is doing. It's just his choice of votings and arrangement that he personally likes.

Man! I am so glad that, it might have taken for over, buuuut I fell in my love my voice and my talent because dude... just watching you play a tutorial is intimidating as hell.. lol... Oh... Background... I am still jamming your first album like it just came out and yes, I was so excited that I was able to attend your concert when you performed in Houston last year! It is the simple things in life... lol... I did try to learn to play piano, but I do not have the passion and disciplined to learn the instrument so now I do just enough to create my own music projects. But enough about me... You make me proud to be an artist as not to be overly critical of today's artists and truth be told, it is likely true of past artists as you are uniquely you..... buuuut... Not many can do what you do and just grab a guitar or sit at the nearest piano and not only play a song, but play your own work and it sounds like what is on the recording.... In either case, happy holidays, and bro-ham continue to what you do!

Amazing! I absolutely love this song, and the piano is unreal. On minor favor though, If you could possible move the camera directly above the piano that would be great! I get a little mixed up on keys with the left hand. I just can't quite see where all your fingers are. But other than that, outstanding job Brian. Keep it up!

The first time i transcribed this piece i fell into the many "quirkiness" like most people doXD. Figure out the 4th time or so alot of it was easier for me with adding and understanding the vocals. It made the all more balanced to the ear.

Awesome, this tutorial helped me not just on this song but now my approach has been elevated. Still sure I'm not playing it perfectly but close enough to create my interpretation. Cracked me up how when you hit those last few shreds, you block the view of your hands and don't repeat em then says....Happy shredding!! I swear I could hear the words...good luck sucka!!!! LOL Awesome video sir, hope I can do this song justice!
