@AlexisKingsley your videos are paradigm-shifting and reality-transformative, Alexis! I'd love to purchase the previous two versions as study and review material to supplement the 2024 version that I bought an hour ago. Could this be available for purchase please, Alexis? Thanks for all that you do. Ciao, Ciao.
I'm 66, have enjoyed a 20+ year career in marketing & communications, raised 3 children with emotional & mental disorders, and have been an avid planner and organizer for my home, business, and personal needs for about 55 years. I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am about your Intentional Planner. After watching several of your videos, I purchased your planner and have already hammered out some really solid, meaningful plans for 2024. Thank you for being so brave, stepping out of your comfort zone, and going for your dream. You're such an inspiration!
Quick suggestion: for "end of Q4 outcome", you can start measuring then instead of repeating your dream goal. For example, you could write "24-chapter fiction book edited and published" instead of "book is written." This would start the idea of making the goal measurable from the beginning.
THIS. IS. BRILLIANT. Thank you so much for sharing your process!!! I have ADHD and this process really jives with how my brain works! I love how you chunk things down starting with the end, and move all the way down to the actual daily to do's!! In my head it was so overwhelming, but you make is so doable!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
YES finally someone else - goals are actually projects! I came to this realisation a little while back and this helped me (someone who does not like fluffy words like goals, dreams, etc.) to get over the feeling something was missing from my planning. Thanks Alexis - new subscriber and looking forward to your content.
I got your 2024 planner, and while I've only done the general 2024 planning, I have a much clearer vision of how I want the year to go than I have in years past. Thank you for putting together such a comprehensive, easy-to-follow guide that seems to cover all the bases!

* larger time frame: backcasting (reverse engineering) => Y,Q,M,W outcome (lag measures) * smaller time frame: add next action tasks for the week (lead measures) thanks for keeping it post
Absolutely remarkable approach!!! I am a newby in a planning world and bought your planner to start learning about it. It already helped me a lot! Thank you so much for you time, effort, for your inspirational personality! Thank you for every video! Your work is a life changer! ❤
Hello again, your method really resonates with me. Funny after years of working planning and setting goals, this approach somehow makes sense to me. I am over 60 so I am going to make it work. This month is to focus on your videos. Cheers from Vancouver Island Canada. Will give feedback on your planner once I used for a few days. 😊
Interesting approach. I love breaking things downs into lots of smaller tasks, but then I usually fail at the whole planning it out on the calendar part 😢 The whole habit of planning is a super important component of consistency
I totally get it! Staying consistent with the habit of planning is my one goal for the year. It feels like if I do that one thing then I can do everything. We can do it!

This system works so well for projects but what if your dream isn't a project and it's more of a concept like living more mindfully. Let's say we quantify that, score 6 on the mindfulness attention awareness scale. You could break it down until you're at a weekly level of let's say you want your outcome to be having a mindful morning. That then involves building a habit so each day you would just be repeating the exact same thing? Is it worth writing down the same thing daily? How would you adapt this for habit based goals?
I have a word for the year which is "live intentionally." So I use a way-of-life goal more in that way than a project. So I have a project for the year which is the Mountain, then the routines/habits/goals which are the "24 Goals for 2024" and then the word for the year which denotes how you do it. The planner has you rewrite the word for the year weekly and write down action steps related to it. :)
When exactly do you plan in detail for each week? As in, for month of Jan with 4 weeks, do you plan all 4 weeks at the beginning of the month OR you take 1 week at a time? Similarly, for goals setting for each month and quarter, is that something you do at the very beginning or just at the beginning or the month and quarter?
any chance you could do an example for a weight lifter? I'm finding it hard to do this breaking down when a lot resides on habit and routine. Not just scheduling to do one thing to complete.
You can control showing up more than you can control the weight you can lift. I might make a routine that consists of lifting 3x/week or whatever you choose and meal planning every week. Then my goal would be to do the weekly routine 52 times. I would also make yearly, quarterly, quarterly, monthly lifting goals for each body part, but take them with a grain of salt since you don't have 100% control of the results, just the actions. :)
💡question!! How do I create a goal like yours (write a book) when my goal is for example, building a community on social media? It's not really a "quantifiable" goal or rather, I have that number I want to hit in mind, but it's something OUTSIDE of my control. What would you do if you were me? I really wanna get the planner so I'm testing this, but can't seem to get over this hump.
I used to be in that exact position. I no longer set subscriber goals because that's somewhat outside my control. So a better goal was "104 videos in a year" which broke down to 2 videos per week. Then I broke down my weekly system into actions. I go into that process in depth in my building a side hustle video: ua-cam.com/video/_7j9wNUweRw/v-deo.html especially toward the end.
@@AlexisKingsley Thank you! I asked you because I knew you definitely dealt with this in the beginning of your journey! Thank you I'm watching it right away, thank you for being so specific with it too!! And I bought your planner! xx
@alexiskingsley - Hi! Purchased the planner yesterday. Just watching this video and I'm a bit confused. I see nowhere in the planner where you put Dream Goals/actions in the weekly section. Mine just has Gratitude, Insight, and making today intentional. I really like putting in the intentional steps to the goal on a weekly basis. Am I missing something? Thanks!
Hi! Yes! There is a disclaimer next to the link in the description box: "**Notes: the actual planner is not a fillable PDF, it is a standard PDF; and also, the weekly spread questions on this are on the monthly spread of the actual planner. See product photos on my website for specific differences." For this video it was not necessary to have a monthly calendar (and I didn't want to give away the whole monthly template and weekly template for free) so I deleted the monthly page and put the questions in different locations. But the intentional steps on a weekly basis are still there, but they are on the monthly spread of the actual calendar. For specific instructions you can read pages 9 and 11 on the ipad version of the planner about "dream action items" or watch my Plan With Me playlist (specifically the monthly video): ua-cam.com/play/PLo0hph_vdC9MOkR54ARGaoD83_l4q6rAN.html
I bought the 2024 planner and look forward to goal planning using this system. Hoping to be consistently working on my goals all year. Thanks for the video and the planner!
I purchased the planner and printed the first quarter, so far seems not to work in goodnotes will try again. However I am following along the video and seven minutes inserting into the weekly planner. The titles on you tube do not match the titles in the PDF. For example Monday January 1 I see gratitude 123, then I site then what would make today intentional. However in the video January 1 5. dream day 1 and then below 6 dream action plans. What I am doing wrong.
Hi! Thanks for purchasing the planner!! The sample PDF is slightly different (there is a disclaimer in the description box of this video next to the link). The action steps are still there like on the sample, but they are on the monthly spread. Page 9 of the planner (on the ipad version) details how to use the monthly spread and where/how to break down your week into action steps. What about it doesn't work in Goodnotes? Note: it is a standard PDF (not a fillable PDF) and I use the Notability app on my ipad and write with an apple pencil.
I need to include the fact that future me will likely learn along the way that I don't actually want half those things. And that's ok. This is an experiment!
Hi there, the planner is a standard PDF not a fillable one. It's designed for importing into a note-taking app like Notability on a tablet and writing with a digital pencil. The product video and the product description on the website have more info too.
Does everyone else want to write a book? All of your videos use the writing a book example. It seems like all the goal setting videos I watch use the example of writing a book. I don't want to write a book and am having a hard time translating these examples to other goals like landscape my yard or keep my house clean.
The exercise of taking a big goal and chunking it backward in smaller and smaller chunks is specifically designed for a large passion project with an end date - like writing a book, making an album, launching a product, home remodel - something with a start and end date that will take a good chunk of time. Then the section "24 goals for 2024" is best used for routines/habits like keeping a house clean or regularly landscaping.
What about a goal like becoming financially free or becoming your own boss? Is there a better way to word that goal? Also, thank you so much for this free worksheet. Love the way you can simplify complex ideas!
