    I'm sorry it took me so long to make the next video. The end of August was pretty crazy and I didn't have much free time. I had to postpone the next video from the "How Netflix butchered The Witcher books" series but I'm still doing it, I just need to finish it. Right now I'm working on another video that's also about The Witcher but that's focused on the books and the games so it's more positive and that should hopefully come out next week.

    Great video! It's always better to learn about folklore from natives. I'm Brazilian and every time I tried to research our folklore in other languages I found it quite inaccurate

      Thank you, I'm glad you like it 🙂 Sharing our culture with the rest of the world was my goal with this channel from the beginning so I'm really glad the videos are reaching people so far away ❤️ Yeah, you have to do these cultural things yourself usually if you want the result to really have the original spirit.

    This music from Witcher 1 works so well with this topic. The atmosphere on the fields was so creepy. I like the soundtrack from W3 and W2, but in W1 it was the least noticeble and at the same time worked the best with the world.

    • @FolkWalkCZ
      @FolkWalkCZ  Рік тому +1

      Yep 🙂 As even the developers from CDPR say the atmosphere in The Witcher 1 was most similar to the books. That's why it fits even this topic from the rustic setting of a countryside I think. ua-cam.com/video/fzRhycpMDbk/v-deo.htmlsi=Izgm6CjaxK8QF2Oo

    Moc se mi líbí vaše příběhy. V Polsku se říká Południca. A já se stále modlím polední modlitbu Anioł Pański, když slyším zvony, i když žiji ve velkém městě. Je legrační, že Polednici zná každý díky básni z doby romantismu. V Polsku všichni vědí, co je to Świtezianka, kvůli romantické básni od Mickiewicze. ua-cam.com/video/p2OaIBkLKn8/v-deo.html

    I really like how at its core, this creepy monster myth is mostly a tale and tradition to normalize taking a break from manual work when the sun and heat are at their peak.

    Elements of the "triple goddess" otherwise represented by the maiden, the mother & the crone. Passed down from our common ancestors if i had to guess.

    Really nice art for the Video👍. I have to say while i like how the Monsters are incoperated in the Games and the few stories in the Books i read with them, i think the original are even better/scarier in many cases(as in this one). I run a TRPGame with The Witcher and often i am undesided in how i want to portray the monsters.(between the more rational/grim portrail in the Games and the original Folky portrail)

      Yeah, it's crazy how morbid and creepy the old folk tales were compared to how sanitized some fairy tales have become to be more kid friendly like in the case of Disney fairy tales. That's also something I want to make video about because I always loved the older creepy versions and it's a shame they don't make them like that anymore.
