hint don't shrink the heat-shrink too much around the soldred joint - any sharp edge/wire can cut through
as well you can squeeze the joint with pliers to flatten sharp edges

soldering to the bottom of a pot can be difficult. Try using some flux or rough the surface with an ink eraser
