I made mangonels and hit the ground of the castle barracks etc which i found to be more time and resource effincient as you never fight him at all in the end
Yeah but that sort feels pretty cheap to me (personally). Obviously anyone can play the campaigns however they want, but I at least try to avoid things like mangonel-ing allies or trading with enemy markets. That's just me though :)
Can we get an updated version of this campaign? I've been playing it again recently and there's a lot of civ swaps! For instance, the Polish are now the Poles. You also have the Burgundians in the first level..
I would always add 5-10 fishing ships to keep the eco running on my own. And then use the tributed wood to make fish traps once fishes ran out. No time limit and 75 pop limit. Never faced issues with the economy.
actually I stationed 3 galleys and 2 fire ships next to the docks and Poland never bothered me until Henry was dead :) I ended up not attacking poland, and building up until I was pop capped with all the blacksmith upgrades. Then I sent a few knights to the top right of the map next to their workshop + barracks, Henry declared war on me and was easy pickings for my rams + TK's just beyond his castle. Before I'd get whooped as all my army was to the East, by the time I got them back my rams were gone, my res were gone and my army died. So for me best strategy is to not attack poland and build up with carts and fishing.
I tend to record campaign videos 2-3 at a time, so I already have the rest of Barbarossa done and ready to go. However, I recorded the first two Saladin scenarios and started to raise the in-game volume for the cutscenes :)
luckily i completed this scenario during HD time lmfao. I used to cr8 a mangonel and just attack ground at Henry castle. Then I cr8 many rams and just park them at Henry castle, so the moment he became enemy, down his castle goes and his pretty weak after that. Then I create many pikemens and finish off his knights and siege weapons
How can i get towncenter people cause my siege building got destroy and im stuck cause i dont whant to use infantry against a castle that suicide level god any way to get villagers to help build stuff or is a level with only what you have for the mission?
Other than changing your desktop resolution/changing the ingame resolution in the options section, I'm afraid I don't know of any other way you could get a custom resolution :( I just use 1920x1080 at default zoom level
Hahahaha. Wow. This mission was sadly, anti climactic and to easy. Heres how i won on hard. The enemy doesnt have cavalry anymore, they use the dudes with the scythes instead, plus swords n occasional siege units. Do exactly what ornlu does except, wait. Once youve destroyed the docks and can just focus on the stream of blue units, as you keep getting tributes, keep getting upgrades, and cavalry and rams, i also had 10 or so crossbowmen. There comes a point when the blue stops sending units and henry the lion begins sending out units, once i noticed this, i began preparing to betray henry. Like in the video except without being a dumbass. I was waiting until i was satisfied or orange started betrayal on his own, i got around 29 minute mark, with all upgrades for castle purchased, minus the barracks and some that you obviously dont need, if you can get the upgrade the castle offers it makes your rams super tough, with 10-12 rams put into place, 10 crossbowmen + the remaining spearmen out of castle range but ready to assist n 20-25 cavalry situated, just spread them out so your rams can kill all the production buildings in 1 go. I melted henrys base, freed the villagers n proceeded to make my base.....but i never needed too. I had 7 rams left over and i sent them around the map destroying blue, blue never made another unit. I didnt need to make a base or another unit after beating henry. I was looking forward to it but alas, ill take easy wins where i can get them. P.s. if your units get low on hp, garrison in your castle or henrys and theyll heal quickly.
I just beat this on moderate difficulty so not sure if i'ts possible on hard but i put all my starting troops at Henry's castle with a couple of rams before he turns on me. Then sent 4 knights over to destroy the docks and then i walled off the top entry of the river and build a castle. Then the AI doesn't do anything to stop you and it's free win.
Or train lots of Mangonels to destroy every of the Henry the Lion'a building until there is no military building left. When Henry changes allegiance, Henry instantly surrender and the rest of the mission becomes easier.

@@BassRukarioGuerreroPoland being Poles civ is actually easy. To counter Obuch, train Crossbowman/Cavalry Archer, to counter Mangonels train Knights
I much prefer to send him stones of peace with my mangonels of friendship!
I wonder how I managed these missions when I was a kid. Incredible videos!
"howdoyouturnthison" goes brrrrrrrrrrr
And nowadays Poland is actually Poland, and sends Obuch against you.
I like garrisoning some petards on Henry's castle 11
Poland: *Exists*
Germany: Knock, Knock, Howdy Neighbor!

@@OrnLu_AoE What's wrong with trading with enemy markets? Don't you generate double gold that way?
@@zena2239That was not considered chivalrous back in the days of Frederick Barbarossa.
Aaand now we have Obuchs for Poles.
There used to be a trick when you turn on green and destroy its town towncenter you automatically win
What I did in this scenario:
*Cannon Galleons*
Old AOE 2 Poland = Goths | AOE 2 DE Poland = Slav nice remaster!
@guitar_jeroi love these changes
Im playing this edition on xbox one and sadly this is not the way it goes 😕 anyone know if theres an updated vid on the new style?
Just put ur troops at Henry's castle with like 2-3 rams before he turns on you. Then wall off the top entry of the river and build a castle there

For instance, the Polish are now the Poles. You also have the Burgundians in the first level..
So in the first mission saxony is the most hardest and here they can't even train units
Henry's troops might hide in a ram somewhere so be aware of that. If he is undefeted.
I would always add 5-10 fishing ships to keep the eco running on my own. And then use the tributed wood to make fish traps once fishes ran out. No time limit and 75 pop limit. Never faced issues with the economy.
Poland always sends ships to ruin my fishing operation :( and I never have enough wood to build ships

Hey Bro! As always amazing videos..in this scenario can we just attack ground the Rams with mangonels before turning on them?
Thanks!
I just tried this thanks for the tip
Now we have polish
The cutscenes are really quiet

My brother used to say Jewbonic Knights and I never corrected him, good times!

how you made fire ships there??
Forget stupid things question! 😅
Help! How to add custom resolution? Any idea?

Splendid
This trick doesn't work anymore. Henry declares war on you after a little while without attacking Poland.
Yep it's a lot harder now
easy and fun campaign!

You can beat it on hard using this strategy of ramming orange once you have plenty of them. Once his military buildings are gone, it is gg
