I think Kenneth Walker used his helmet to push off the ground for that second flip which should have made him down by contact, but it was still an awesome effort from a great player. In Anzalones defense, he didn't quit on that play or the Metcalf fumble play that only happened because Alex was holding him by his shirt strings.
I think the only guy that didn't have a good day for the Lions was James Houston IV. It doesn't look like he has much to offer this year. It's not uncommon for players to have a down year after a major injury, but I can't tell if that's the problem. All I know is he looks nothing like he did as a rookie and the Lions are between a rock and a hard place with him. They can't put him on the practice squad without someone scooping him up, yet he has no trade value.
Good call with the Walker run. Didn't think about that side of it but you're right. Still such an athletic move to attempt even. Shows his true drive!
Agreed 100% on Houston. They need to find another EDGE rusher!
I'm not sure I can quantify how angry I would be if Goff tore his ACL on that horse-collar tackle. I can't believe the QB is the one player allowed to be tackled by the collar, when all the rules that have been created to protect them. It's like Russian Roulette the QB edition. We all know they'll make it a penalty the moment a star QB gets taken out for the season because of it, so why wait? Sometimes the NFL is just dumb.
Yeah that doesn't make any sense. That is such a dangerous tackle that I feel should be outlawed all together!
