A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his UA-cam channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.
That was a really good lesson for someone like me who really plays guitar, but wants to play bass and doesn't know where to begin. Thanks!
Imagine bassline without "b"
Totally different feel.
You couldn’t play Cmaj7 😭
Assline
@@positivefingers1321 how?!😅
@@robinsonmalale6148 it’s the 7th haha, didn’t know I posted this
Good tutorial! Thanks for your video efforts.
No prob Terry!
I just came here to feed on the tears of angry jazz bass players
Feed away!
That was a good quick lesson on bass basics. I switch back and forth between my guitar and bass, master of neither, but enjoy both. Keep the bass lessons coming 🎼🎶😎
Thanks so much Frank! I'll keep em coming!
Same here haha!
Sean have you heard angelo badalamenti's work on Twin Peaks? Amazing stuff, haunting with great walking bass lines.
I haven't! I'll check it out !
This video was awesome. Clear, straight forward, right to the point, with only the necessary information presented. So many instructors on UA-cam have their heads so far up their a$$es in music theory you need to be a music major to understand them. It's almost as if they make instructional videos just to impress their professional musician friends. I'm glad I found this video. I'll definitely check out the others.
Thanks so much! I'll keep em coming!
Damn bro, you hit it right on the head. They make it way too complicated for no reason.
You missed a prime opportunity to do the "all about that bass" bass line.. the kids love that Meghan Trainor 😜🤘
The regret is real.
Here are my thoughts about your bass guitar tutorials.
What's the difference between a vacuum cleaner and a bassist??
The vacuum cleaner has to be plugged in to suck🤣😃😄😂
Ooof
finally, i can walk A Minor
Excellent lesson Sean! It's a great lesson for guitarists too. I've often had students do this (I do it myself!) to get a feel for how to get from A to B. It forces you to think of where you're going to end up and the time it takes to get there.
Van Halen said playing a guitar solo was like falling down stairs and somehow landing on your feet. This is like "Falling Down Stars and Landing on Your Feet 101" ... or maybe 201. Very nice!
My guy Mark! Thanks so much for watching! And that definitely makes sense that Van Halen would say that :)
Excellent beginner lesson; subscribed!
Welcome to the party!
You are the best ever e-mentor of mine.. loads of love and respect from INDIA ♥️
Thanks so much! Cheers from the US!
Nice! I mainly play guitar but dabble in bass, keyboard, drums, and ukulele. I really like that you show stuff on other instruments as it adds to my understanding of guitar. Thanks!
Always happy to help! Thanks for watching!
As a beginner, I really enjoy it. Many thanks, and I subscribed.
Very easy to follow and well articulated. Subbed. Walking jazz bass is my favorite and my goal is to become proficient enough to improv with a band.
the 3rd FRAT on the A string
the 2nd FRAT on the D string
edit: this was actually a really helpful vid tho
I am a beginner. Best explanation of walking bass lines I have seen. And something I can practice and understand. Thank you so very much.
Happy to help!
Coming back to this after actually playing bass for several months and it's really useful, thanks!
Your opening comment was brutally true :D Nice song to demonstrate the lesson by . Good choice .
Haha, happy to help ;)
Thanks dude I legit learnt a lot in this lesson... Thank you🙂
happy to help!
Cool Sean! I'm a guitar player begining to bass. Thanks and regards
Happy to help!
I have so much great stuff you have given me to practice on that when i listen to a new video.. i hope it is not that great....but it is!! Thx! Another two weeks of practice added to my list.
Hope you're not getting overloaded :)
Cool info. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Always happy to Lee!
Very cool. This makes obvious sense when you spell it out like this. makes me want to learn bass! And I see below that Mark Zabel stopped by--he's an excelelnt YT guitar instructor--you and I an should team up with him for a video or two!
Great idea! Mark seems like an awesome dude!
Explained very well.
Great lesson!
Hey dude good lesson for me, I have been trying to figure out how to play walking bass lien's on my bass guitar, but haven't seen anyone who gives a good lesson on yet, can you do a few more lessons on the walking Bass lines, and also can you please do a video on how to play the 9/10/11/12/13 note on the Bass, or how ever that goes? And explain how to play them and we're they come from, thank you so much for your help
Thanks for watching! I'll definitely have some more bass lessons soon!
@@seandaniel23 thank you so much for that, and I love how you keep it very simple and easy to get and understand even for very beginning people. That means a lot to people! If they can't understand it it is very easy to quit and give up. Thank you so much
Great video! Thank you for this.
Happy to help!
Gold!
Extremely helpful for what I’ve been trying to do! Thanks!
Thanks. I learnt something from this!
Your bass tutorials are so great and easy to understand! Thanks!!!
i closed out within the first five seconds 🙄
Yeah, we bass players are having a lot things to think about while we playing that cool and sexy what makes the crowd dance ;-)
What is a chord tone, what is a passing tone and where to place it. It's more than shifting shapes. It's a Kind of magic ;-) Good tutorial!
Dude you are awesome man!
First!
Champion!
BASS PEWDS LMAO
The steez on that opening line mmmm
What is the best app for drum and guitar or piano accompaniment while I play the bass line?
i think the best way to get that is to make up your own chord progressions. i use garage band and i start playing with my bass along the track i made
Well i dont have a bass guitar.
...yet
Ove that line a walk is something that women use to push you!
Can't hear the bass over the instruction
Thanks for the feedback, I'll get it right.
you move too fast for beginners.....slow down
