You could have the most pro-black parent in the world, but if you dont grow up in a black household how can you really understand black culture. 42:08 area, I wanna say that I don’t believe that darker skinned women get less hate now and are more accepted. I actually think darker skinned women were more “accepted” in black/hiphop culture in the 90s than now (if we’re going off music videos, the black women who were popular in that time period, etc). Most of what we see now about loving black women is performative and really only exists on Twitter or Tik To- and the “dark-skin” is only acceptable if it’s a certain body type/hair texture, and they’re oiled up. I think today, black women of all complexions are just learning to love themselves, regardless of how society sees them (because I don’t think society sees us any “better” than they have historically).

42:08 area, I wanna say that I don’t believe that darker skinned women get less hate now and are more accepted. I actually think darker skinned women were more “accepted” in black/hiphop culture in the 90s than now (if we’re going off music videos, the black women who were popular in that time period, etc). Most of what we see now about loving black women is performative and really only exists on Twitter or Tik To- and the “dark-skin” is only acceptable if it’s a certain body type/hair texture, and they’re oiled up. I think today, black women of all complexions are just learning to love themselves, regardless of how society sees them (because I don’t think society sees us any “better” than they have historically).
Just made me love Tee even more, she has such a fun personality. I really hope those three get what’s coming to them, I can’t help but think about it because it was just so wrong and extra asf.

There’s def a big difference between having a black mom or white mom when biracial. To have been carried in the womb then raised by a black mom is what unites all of the black community. Most black households are ran by a black mom, while unfortunately the fathers aren’t around as often as the women. So having that black mom experience is literally the one thing we all have in common and connects us. It’s also a rule that’s gone back since the beginning of time in a plethora of different cultures, that you are what your mom is. So… yeah 🤷🏻♀️😭
I also always felt that the biracial children born of white moms should absolutely be on the spectrum of white skin shades. Does this spectrum even exist? Lol you know when they line all the black women of Hollywood up on an Ebony magazine. They have Halle berry as the lighter one and Lupita at the other end as the darkest shade. How is Halle born & raised from a white woman and not considered one of the shades of white ppl? 🤔🤔 why one ounce of black still makes a person fully black, as if we’re still in slave times?
