I very recently added in a Mackie mixer I bought a few years ago, just because I had it and wanted to add reverb...but this Bose speaker is so clean that I hardly missed it and got many compliments on how well and clearly I could be heard in performance. There is nothing like Bose for top sound quality. I know it could fill larger venues than I have played.
I have played with this unit, using tracks, to audiences up to 80 people and it filled the fairly large room with sound. I also have the L1 1S larger brother for larger gigs, but for lounges, bars and even medium size halls, the compact is sufficient.
Love my compact. Note that you have all 3 inputs (on the right) going at the same time. But for the 1/8 and RCA inputs it is best if they have their own volume control so you use the r channel volume just for the guitar, and then adjust the external devices volume via the remote device volume control.
Here's the quote from page 5 of the manual: "Note: The two L1® Compact Extensions are identical to each other. Either one can be used on the top or bottom, but if one extension is used, both must be used. "
I read in the manual that you are supposed to use both extensions or none: but not use only one. I wonder why Bose says this if it seems to work for you and others.
Some people love it, to rent a truck and to carry about 30 or 40 kg. Not me. Since Bose L1 compact, the speaker systems have to be light weighted and good sounding like this.
Thanks for your informative videos. I have a Bose L1Compact with a Tonematch mixer, a Fender Princeton Chorus DSP amp, an SM57 mic and an MXL R80 Ribbon mic. I play a Fender strat with pedals (electric blues) and sing at a small venue, using my iPod loaded with backing tracks. I've been told to either mic up the amp directly with the MXL or ditch the amp and get an amp modeler instead (Line 6 Spider or Fender Mustang). Any ideas on a setup to get the best sound (comments welcome)?
Would this be ok to rum my Nord synthesizer in stereo? I don't understand how a single speaker pole can provide stereo separation the way two speakers would.
I prefer my two powered 1990's JBL EON 15 PAKS with built in four band eq, four 1/4" inputs for guitars etc..., an XLR for mic 800 watts of power and your done! perfect for my solo gigs!
i don't get this statment, why wouldn't there be lows? there is a sub that pruduces the low frequenzies and the highs are produced by the fullrange elements.
isn't the pod XT designed to work with the BOSE L1 ? Seems so , i might check the user manual about it . Could be a possible way to amplify my POD XT @ home , and my acoustic ... still , i don't like the look , and i'm not sure about the tone . I will give it a think anyway .
When you mean a karaoke machine, use the line out or headphone out and plug it in the cinch ins. But in general you could connect the mike to the XLR in and the player to the cinch ins.
awesome video just wanted to say i tried phoning Bows to ask them a question i regards to the ...bose l1 compact.. so i went through 4 operators before i could ask my question finally got through to someone then i asked her my question and she wasn't sure and this all took 20 minutes then the phone disconnects if this is how its gonna be if something should go wrong with the system no thank you!!!!
Sorry, maybe a good product, but poor presentation. Showing a black product with a black background; showing how portable it is without actually lifting it within camera range... and not showing the overall size or giving a volume and sound example more than a guitar stroke and a couple of words through it at the same time as using your recording microphone. Someone should go back to school.
If you wanna show your hardware off on stage it's simple. Buy a bigger pa system. As a acoustic guitarist and singer, this is perfect for my types of gigs, as most pubs don't have that much room for a big ass sound system that you seem to need for visual effects. I'm imagining you with long hair, cargo shorts, faded System of the down t-shirt and worn out Doc Martin's and a fakeass Eddie Vedder voice? But I could be wrong lol
I knew the great BOSE era, the 802, the made in the USA, really fabulous and legendary. Here it breathes, it stinks of made in china. Research done, BOSE does not have a factory in China, it is all under contract and really too much expensive compared to the cost of labor. In addition sound side ... it is not JBL (the brand of musicians for more than 50 years) brand at the origin of this bass cabinet + column configuration (JBL EON one / pro) , a concept copied by everyone lacking creativity.
What a demo. Bro plays a D and can't even be bothered to get a mic stand. No EQ or effects! 🤢 Be ready to pay another couple hundred on a decent guitar pre-amp and probably another pedal for your vocal so you don't sound like your stepdad singing along to Heart Radio.

im thinking of getting the bose L1 to play worship at my church on my acoustic guitar would it be great for playing with a full band?
i have two of these for dj setup fantastic, cant wait till i can afford model 2

Sorry I can't understand you. Why do you don't love it? If you said that is light and compact.
My mate's got one ... it's awesome outside as well !!!
Thanks man. My favourite part was when your were like "you can play" and then u pulled out the microphone "and sing" lol nice
Sarcasm? 😂😂
In which case the manual is wrong. I have one, and I use one extension and the mid/high speaker head all the time.
Big Ron
How do you connect left & right jacks from Stereo mixer if there's only 1 input ?
Answers on a postcard please.

Uno de los mejores equipos d sonido del. Mundo inigualable
Can I used it with a mixer? So i can connect more inputs for Band practice??
Esse equipamento é show de bola!

David Watson I.
i have this system too and its great!!
could you use one as a speaker for a 18w guitar tube head? does the speaker have 8ohms and where do you have to plug the amp in?
Can you use this system in combination with a keyboard or stage piano?
Yes. Works great!
how many watt is the L1
How about Lemmy' from "Motorhead" do an honest assessment???
hahahaha, i love how Paul takes out the microphone of his ass or something
i don't get this statment, why wouldn't there be lows? there is a sub that pruduces the low frequenzies and the highs are produced by the fullrange elements.
Paul should be a hand model, those are some nice hands, haha.
how much taller can it need to be?
@lamecasuelas2 He does it with that knowing smile, too...

I wonder how this would sound running off my eleven rack.
can you hook up a USB microphone?
No, only normal microphones. The best results I got with a Shure SM 58 and an acoustic guitar with magnetic pick up.
How do you connect a karaoke to it
When you mean a karaoke machine, use the line out or headphone out and plug it in the cinch ins.

No Highs, No Lows, Its Bose
@lamecasuelas2 Not to forget that he smiles awkwardly right after :D

Hmmmmm, considering.......but ill just stick to a tube or solid state amp^^
It looks silly, but sounds great.

It is about 11 kg. I can carry it
Get a life... I was looking for information, which was give, rather than an Oscar performance
Sorry, Someone needs to get laid lol.

@carbonj123 he plays 1 chord...
12" Powered Speaker over these tinny bose thingie's!
LMAO Yeeaaa.... about that.... Paul, You have something to tell us???
1 8" stereo input ehh? hahahahah!!
there is no way this thing dosent suck..line array my arse!
@lamecasuelas2 Now I'm ready to play *shits a microphone* and sing.
ha, that bose L1 dont have any tweeter or compression driver and uses 5 1/4 drivers 4 bass. id rather use that peavey portable system than this
YJM cables
Horrible for any outside gig, your better of buying 2 10" powered speakers of your choice...
lol a mobile loud speaker that you can carry in two hands. so like most speakers
total false: lot of highs, lot of lows, pure midrange!

@WalrusDoom ajjajajaja,suspicious
6 drivers is hardly a line array, more like a glorified point source
@Ningirsutyr hhahahahahahahahahahaha
À
@drspin155 muahahah
last
Camera man sucks! Mostly we are looking at the dude..not the product.
Sorry you can't afford one

Stop calling this thing a line array.
Don't be so picky. When you go away from the system, you can't notice a lower sound level.
Oh give me a break.
