An Arabic manuscript of about A.D. 1500 “Book on the Excellence of the Bow and Arrow” and the Description thereof.
Translated by N.A. Faris and R.P. Elmer, 1945.
Another way to do this stunt is by placing the arrows between the fingers of the right hand thus: the nock of each arrow between two fingers when the arrows are only three; if they be six, then place two arrows between each two fingers, or if they be nine, three arrows between each two fingers; or more as you are able. Then follow the rest of the operation as described in the previous paragraphs:
“It’s not that fast” I have been shooting for 3 years and my reload is an ordeal. This is like black magic to me
so make it not an ordeal ....the technique used by the masters for blind nocking is written right there in both books Arab and Saracen archery.....it is a very fast technique for use with thumb draw......and the really strange thing is....nobody fricken uses it .....except me that is
@@jareth7456that would be cool if you show us that
Have you heard of lars Anderson? Ancient texts say to be an at her you have to be able to shoot 3 arrows in 1.5 seconds and 10 arrows in rapid succession. Most modern archers say the texts are wrong and it’s impossible. Lars Anderson can shoot 3 arrows in 1.5 seconds, 10 arrows in 4.9 seconds and 3 arrows in 1.2 seconds while running backwards or jumping.
And shoot arrow pas Key hole 7 times in second😅😅😅@@DreadEnder

This is really interesting technique. Thank you very much for sharing your research and application.
So Lars made his method up
Yes
That makes it even more impressive
in lars's vid, he shows same technique(and other 5 mtehods) and it still so much fast.
@@HistoricalWeapons sry but he can reply his skill with 100lbs(not hight as you..he is 58).. ur technique is even much better than me and any normar archers. but just see lars's million view vid again. 4:05 third move is same with yours. so what i want to mean is - first mention "So Lars made his method up" is not correct.
@@HistoricalWeapons his well-known form is not same looks with it. but thoes it? lars already traind arab tech and variate as perpose so in video he changes arab archery and his other techniques by situation and targets and it's main concepts based on arab archery. it still just made-up?
korean trad archery have same argue about technique and some people says "not correct technique with old script is WRONG and must fix it!"
but later, old pictures show us thats just script, they draw just they want. -hitting target without injury is important and any other things(release position, draw angle, draw hand angle, and any other techniques) are just minor thing. - so pic and video shows variaty moves. even each oldest trad archers has different techniques.
The real one is so much slower
Unlike what lars state
oh wow that looks awesome, I will definitely give this a go.
No imagine the rate of fire with a dozen archers
The historical description is a bit vague but there is one obvious clue that indicates the arrows are held in the forward position...not point down as you are doing here . The text reads for the second method the arrow nocks are held between the fingers either 3 , 6 , or 9 arrows then to proceed like the first method....and the first method is a point down technique however it's referencing what to do after the arrows are gripped ....it says to SLAM THE ARROW SHAFT AGAINST THE GRIP OF THE BOW AND THEN AT THE SAME TIME PUSH THE NOCK FORWARD TO THE STRING.
the way your doing it doesn't allow for the shaft to be slammed against the grip of the bow nor are you able to push the nock forward with your palm . Both are very easily done with the arrows held in the forward position.
One must read the historical description very carefully and when attempting to reconstruct the method it is important to make sure all parameters given in the description are met ....and another glaring reason Jack's version is incorrect......this is a description of shower shooting...in other words speed archery.....and Jack's version in my opinion is slow and clumsy....furthermore the position of his arrows won't allow the use of the blind nocking technique used by the medeaval middle Eastern archers
In summary...he's wrong
Interesting interpretation. But pay attention to my technique which also allows the shafts to be slammed on the bow grip. I would have to see what the original Arab word is for slam. If the case is based on your interpretation it would still be a thumb draw so faster than this but not the stereotypical Lars draw. There’s no Slavic + this magazine method combo written in Arab archery, only from the Theban tomb
So L*** slaps a book title and calls it historical
that used be some archers' medeival ak47
Scythians, Huns, Kazakhs, and Mongols who shoot 20 arrows per minute: are we jokes to you?
From which time is this manual?
1500
What I wonder about how much strain that's putting on the nocks and fletching of the arrows. Wouldn't want to re-fletch and re-nock arrows, but I want to try this out hahaha
Is that that $80 bow from Amazon? How do you like it?
It’s good
Is that the Genghis Khan bow form Alibow? What poundage is it?
No Turkish 50lb
Traning it and using it whole life is kay to it. Its OP
incredible! would you show us the target while shooting while using this method? Thank you for sharing!
i can but im not a particularly accurate archer and it was never my strong suit
Good video! What bow are you using?
Lars, Comache, asian, arab, mongolian
I prefer the six shooter method, you can lead with two slowly and end with 4, or was it the other way around? But slowly, you have to pick your targets with your right hands, and finish them with your left hand, or it could be the opposite.
I know nothing seriously, I really don't
This is how Canadians defend their homes now.😂
Yes
Wonder how many new ruby ridges happens
Legally not allowed
@@nerhaci2074 seriously?
@@wiking3520no joke, you're just supposed to bend over
What have you found to be most helpful when you’re shooting off of the right side of the bow to keep the arrow from torquing and falling off?
Maybe we weren't just as good as ancient archer, the stakes are just different
Thumb draw? Ain't nobody drawing a high poundage war bow with a thumb draw.
Nice dude! I 3dprinted a bow recently and I am now using a very similar way to speed shoot thanks to you! (the arrow guide made have the arrow facing up when I am holding them)
you can see front quiver fast shooting from turkish
Very cool I heard they work a Thumb Ring 💍 😊
soon they going to ban bows and arrows and slings too lol
😍
Thanks Jack...👍🏻🙏🏻
Nicee.....good video
I have wondered the same thing during my own reading of the book. Thanks for the video, great demo.
Keep it up bud
Where do you get your bows from?
Nice turkish bow
Yo wutup, I was wondering about the way you grab the arrows in this video, im new into archery (well, kinda bcause im making my own bows and practicing with them) is it correct to grab the arrows like that? Because i’ve been shooting the arrows like that, i’ve tries the traditional way to grab and arrow and i feel really uncomfortable while grabbing the arrow
Well slow there's a guy that can shoot 10 arrows in 10 seconds
There we go again. This is a technique based on the book. That guys technique has no textual evidence
Name of manuscript?
Arab archery
@@HistoricalWeapons I appreciate it brother.
Any idea where I can find a Persian bow? And what weight the draw should be for a female with not much muscle (I have been sick for a long time and lost some muscle)
Put them all together in one video please ! !
Nicely done - Thanks ! !
🙂😎👍
Great feature, I hope we see a heavier bow with that technique. While on a horse, oooh, or a chariot full of quivers.
You’re amazing
Put the nock forward on the first move
Can you show us your target after these different methods?
- 9 arrows in 26,8 second = 2.8 second per arrow,
slowly
- MIhai shoot 10 arrows in 10 second,
1 second per arrow,
faster
This is the “fastest technique” according to the book in their opinion. Written on paper. I’m not here to compare other techniques, I’m introducing a technique that the 16th century author state is the fastest technique in his opinion. If I use Lars Anderson method I shoot faster than mihai
9 arrows in 13 seconds, mastery!
Whats the strength of the bow?
Is that count as a machine bow now?
Arabs !!!
VERY COOL!!!
Can you try shooting 2 to 3 arrows in the same time?
Can you try sucking boffa deez nuts at the same time?
@@FatHalibutz32 😐😑😐
just letting you know, force exerted by a bow would be split among those arrows and would be inefficient
@@elee9056 What if they were just 2?
@@jos-is-a-bot still would mean the force would be split evenly between two. the force would be pushing twice the weight of one arrow. towing another car using one engine would not make it as fast as a single car.
No fancy stuff
I got that same bow. Same color too. Mine is 40lbs.
What bow? Ali?
Where do you get your bows I love your channel by the way
u can buy them off me
This bow looks very similar to the ones the Mongolian hordes used, they were really deadly on horseback
Please check Lajos Kassai.
Hungarian archer.
@Gabor Molnar lajos kassai made it an art, thanks for the tip
Try to do this with sharp broadheads.
Can be done just not allowrd at range
@@HistoricalWeapons it was the Q to check the feasibility
@@Burboss it was done historically
@@DeMac10 Can you demo it?
Yeah Lars, he the man
You're slow, the technique is for fast shooting.
Do it faster then
This is the technique from the book Arab archery
@HistoricalArchery Are you kidding me!!! This is a Turkish Ottoman bow. And İt's Turkic high speed shoot. Not Arab!!! Every man who know little bit history can say this. I know that book which written by Memluks state which established by Turkic Memluk soldiers in Egypt. Looks like you don't have any information about that. After the IX. Century Turkic Memluk (which mean Slave soldier) soldiers had used in whole middle east including Egypt, Syria and Irak. And this elite soldiers ruled this area until the Ottoman Empire. Please Read history!!!
Lol I’m talking about Arab archery technique not the bow I use
@@HistoricalWeapons technique is Turkic too. Memuk army and military elites were mostly Turkic.
@@selmanaskn462 whether or not they used it is irrelevant. I’m talking about the technique described in the Arab Archery book. Yes the Arabs were influenced by Persian and Turkic archers but that doesn’t change the fact that my primary source comes from the Arab archery book that survived for us modern humans to read
@@HistoricalWeapons Just because this information is written in an Arabic book does not make this an Arabic technique. This is a Turkic technique.
@@HistoricalWeapons After the 10th century, the Arab, Persian and Indian geography was completely ruled by Turkic commanders and Turkic armies. This is the point that foreign UA-camrs constantly overlook.
