Saw the Tams live in college in 1968 just when this song became a hit. My favorite group, their shows were amazing.

The Atlanta Tams...Fall semester '77. Worked in a frat bar--to see what I had missed. (Bar got a line or two in Rolling Stone once). Played almost exclusively Beach Music. Heard that song at least 3 times, every night. Still love it.

Like I said on another page, this is "Beach Music Meets Northern Soul." I used to watch Joe Pope and the Tams do this at shows in 1968. You don't look like Joe, Sarah, but I like it nonetheless. Wish you could see the Tams with their original choreography--they were as much fun to watch on stage as to listen and dance to. I think all the original members are gone now...there is a new generation of Tams, but they are a southern and Beach Music institution still. Amazing how a phenomenon of the American South, Beach Music, has entered the realm of British Northern Soul.

Outstanding cover Sarah!! I have never heard this song but with you singing it is great! Was "You Don't Love Me" No, No, No your first cover?? You are chilling and jamming to some Reggae. A beautiful young Sarah with dark brown hair and pony tail. The early beginning of a mega star!! You are like a fine wine. You get better with age. Little did you know then you would have over 10 million views a few years later!
