Money
Get away
You get a good job with good pay and you're okay
Money
It's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team
Money
Well, get back
I'm all right Jack
Keep your hands off of my stack
Money
It's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set
I think I need a Lear jet
(amazing solos)
Money
It's a crime
Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my pie
Money
So they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a raise
It's no surprise that they're giving none away
"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely. It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"

I bought this album when it came out, 11 years old, and I still listen to the whole album, or certain tracks very often.
It is our illusion that’s all! Keeps us busy and keeps us focused on everything but true reality! We are one hell of a machine! Everything is designed to create a following of the masses! Everything!

I was lucky to be in my late teens when this album came out. We saw Pink Floyd perform it in it's entirety live at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. I will never forget that night. Incredible band. Surround sound before it was really much of a thing. We were literally inside the music! The lyrics went straight into my heart and remain there until this day. It makes me so happy that young people are open to giving older material a listen and appreciating great talent everywhere they find it.
was also in my late teens and saw this concert, 17 I think and also remember the surround sound effect, I drove a station wagon full of kids lol
I'm now 23 and my parents have had stuff like this on for as long I remember. From the 70's, 80's, 90's stuff.
Fallout led me to truly realize I adore doo-wop, big band, 20's thru the 60's
It is exceptionally rare to find modern artist's worth ears and time. The past is absolutely filled to the brim with treasure, gems, bangers, bops, and tunes galore!!
I love our young people getting ahold of the older songs. The songs make sense to us
Exploring all the good talents of music is the reason we live pardner 🫡
My first encounter was also in Quad, on my brother's deck. Spaced me out...
Wanna have a fun fact? When Pink Flyod made this song, they didn't have any stock sounds for the check out's "Kat$hing" noises, so the drummer made them all by himself.
Fun fact, you're actually wrong. Only one of those sounds was made with the drums.
Really? I heard it on the radio like 15 years ago and they said that they had to do every sound.
i'm pretty sure they can drop change in front of a mic, and ring up a cash register in front of one too.
It was Roger Waters that made the backing track.
Amazing how you're all wrong. Yet you seem to have 14 thumbs up.
Fun fact: this was the first song I played on my bus ride home after earning my first significant bit of money.

So I'm going to enjoy this generation that has UA-cam where I can just type in pink Floyd and have all the pink Floyd I want.
Got 'em.
Maybe they mean they wish they were born later where the technology to listen to more pink floyd is even better
CDs in the 70s & 80s? you're looking at Vinyl or Cassetes
I rather listen to Cassettes, VHS Tapes, or Vinyls if I was in the '70s and '80s. And back in the 80s MTV was still fresh and according to my old dad, that you only need to sit your ass in MTV channel to know the hits in Billboard Hot 100! I know that has a heck ton of effort than the internet but, who cares???
I think the kids who say that "They were bown in the wrong era" isn't just talking about music itself after all maybe it's also the different norms back then or fashion too. But hey, let's not forget racism and sexim was more common so.. yeah I think this generation is more chill. I'm okay here
Thank god there were CDs in 1973
Saw them in about '74 do the whole album, Cleveland Stadium. I'm 61 yrs old now.....best concert I ever saw and I've seen hundreds in my lifetime. THE BEST.

I saw FFDP in concert recently. The crowd devolved into a huge moshpit - it was the best damn thing.
I am envious Sharktooth Martin. But then, when I look back at the legends I have seen I think people would be envious of me too. Bo Diddley, Ennio Morricone, Leonard Cohen, Jan Garberek and the Hilliard Ensemble, Jimmy Cobb. We are all so incredibly lucky if we make the effort. I hope you have decades of thrilling live acts to experience sir.
I saw them in Hamilton Ontario...unbelievable. I’m 60 and have seen many great bands but this concert was over the top.,

Much prog
Why would anybody ask that
So dank man
I do love this song, especially covering it on the drums in 7/8 time. Or, is it 7/4? Still, it could be considered "different" than the rest of the album. For decades, I have heard people say Money spoils the continuity of Dark Side. While I of course understand, I have listened happily to the entire work since 1973. Money or not, Dark Side of the Moon remains one of the outstanding portions of the great tapestry of rock. (Let's not forget Alan Parsons's contributions!)

@@matthiascerebri3315 Gilmore would have been a nobody if it wasn't for Roger Waters. He made Pink Floyd into what we know and love and Gilmore wanted to change it (because he didn't want to be political anymore, but part of that is what makes PF so special) and thanks to that the band broke up.

1973! First time I heard this song, I had just turned the TV off from watching Interjections of Schoolhouse Rock, then turned on the stereo right on cue. The cash register and I thought I broke the stereo! I was only 5 and in those few seconds, I just knew I was getting my ass tore up for breaking the stereo. Then the bassline, and it was all over. I was captivated by this. Back then stereo speakers had that left, right thing going and I loved it! I waited about 3hours for it to come back on. My mom was like, what the hell are listening to boy? Rock music???? I'm black, and we listened to many genres, but it was always a grown-up who controlled the songs. I was like, there's this song that came on Mom, and I must hear it again, you're gonna love it. It cane back on, and she did! Then all kinds of great tunes. geemachine666 The same way it is now; dead.
Where would British bands be without rock and roll?
Yeah British bands rule the world, no one else comes close.
geemachine666 well where would rock and roll be without the blues
A masterpiece on many levels lyrically excellent every instrument played to perfection never grows old. Love the bass guitar and Nick's drumming is on point , sax and lead guitar both incredible and Rick putting just the right amount of keyboards off the lead guitar. The more I listen to it the more levels I discover.
Guys! I live in year 241 973 and have travelled back in time just to tell you how much I love this song, and that I was born in the wrong generation!
+LOLLYPOPPE Back to the 7th dimension with you. You may take a copy of this song.

Do you still listen to this song?
Bump
Solo is perfect
The baseline hooks you, no escape.
Yepppp
Yes it does
I love how after the big solo first words are: money, its a crime
Hearing that solo for free is a crime

funny how everything can be achieved if you take different paths towards your goal
Agreed they need royalties.
i remember when i was a little kid running around the house and my dad playing this album and my mom yelling at him to turn it down i guess you can say im a floyd fan for life
sounds like my dad haha
Your dad is my dad now.
Same :)
Dennis Wolf I
HA 😆
This album is so good to smoke and chill to!!
The lavishness of this song is just incredible...
what makes this song different from other Pink Floyd songs is that it's mostly Just raw blues which is awesome.
The name Pink Floyd comes from a blues artist I believe.
2 blues artists. Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
+Logan Collins yea thank ya
+Logan Collins great blues artists
+JJ Sanchez Also Floyd is my favorite band so I know a lot about them.
Floyd Council and Pink ANderson. Indeed they formed as a blues act
Just sold my car and i got cash... so the first thing i did was listening to this song while holding my money :D
k
When you're buying a new one don't forget the caviar!
Haha I already had a new one when i sold it so too late :/
lol nice what car did you have and whats your new one?
Donald Matheson I'm blue da ba dee da ba da!
The best band ever and the best music ever my first album was with 12 the wall 1979
Guys if you can listen to this song on your iphones it's definitely the right generation, except for the fact that we'll probably never go to a pink floyd concert

Hopefully xxxtentacion is dead

And?
Our generation is shit.
Liquid Prints go back in time where polio didn't have cure and i hope you'll get one
Grace Luna I saw pink Floyd last year :) one of the best concerts I've gone to
and now, fortnite as a whole has made their own utopia of 1v1 insults
pink Floyd is food for the soul!!
I won't exist until the entire universe has collapsed and expanded an infinite amount of times and I love this music.
Pardon?
+Pokemario Fan It was a poke at the people who say "I'm [however young] and I love this music". It wasn't worded that well though.
MrQuestion72 I thought you were one of those religious guys, but I get it now
These what’s real music of the 70s I love every album of Pink Floyd no doubt.
I once listened to the whole album of "Dark Side of The Moom"- completely sober. This is coming from me who doesn't get high on a regular basis.. So one time I listened to the album, I felt like I was in a trance; like I was inside of a kaleidoscope, if you will. I can only imagine how much more of an out- of -body -experience it would be if I was completely tweaking out. LOL
Stoned is best. Drunk doesn't do it. Underwater is great
I'm convinced this whole album was made to be listened to on acid. The whole album is a colorful trip from front to back with all its sounds effects blended into the music. It's honestly a surreal experience
I listened to it on ecstacy. Fucking hell. Amazing.
@@Equites279 nothing beats mushies and l$d good sound system or headphones are a must
You don't need drugs for
Pink Floyd.
NO DOUBT, 60's and 70's: golden age of music creativity, lived it, loved it, miss it.
Agreed
There still is much creativity in today's music. You just have to look harder

The bass during the guitar solo is so fat, yet overlooked.
