I am really pleased to see you back. Congratulations to the new workshop which looks great. Its difficult to find more skilled "machining people" in the web. You are one of the best! Can't wait seeing more scraping, casting, CNC milling, etc. videos!!

    What a wonderful shop!
The capture of your ride was quite nice and makes me wonder if your bike is electric. Very lovely commute!

    • @MuellerNick
      @MuellerNick  6 років тому +1

Electric?! That would be too slow. Electric bikes are limited to 27 km/h (I think) here and that is too slow for me. I have a really bad day, if I can't take over any (legal) electric bike.
The commute would be more pleasant if I'd take it slow. I can't!

That is also my thought on electric bikes. Especially the MTB:s with electric assistance. It is easy to tease those youngsters. I do a 25 kilometer tour every day around Frankfurt. Almost every day there is at least one e-bike approaching me from the back. Then just add up the pace until the distinctive sound is a little bit farther away. Keep that pace and at some point there is a VERY tired youngster behind :)

Actually, this something "sharing with a friend", is a major advantage. I really envy You. I hope You stay friends despite the little setbacks which always become in play when two or more humans share something. At the end of the day, it usually adds up in a positive way.
It is sort of funny when I watched this video. I found myself in it. Not really but in a certain mechanical way:
    - having electronics as a hobby from 7 year old kid - more than 50 years now
    - done a lot of embedded software in the past as well as c++, pascal, fortran and whatnot
    - doing some datawarehousing for my living now
    - bicycling no matter the weather. Try to keep my weight down and spirit up. I assume the weather can get quite challenging in München area, in Finland it certainly does
    - keen on machining - especially manual machining. Latest investment is a Schaublin SV-51 milling monument
    - asperger
I usually live in Finland with my swedish talking wife. At the moment I am in an assignment here in Frankfurt and have learned some german. I probably could write this in german but since You preferred the english I decided to get social.
I am looking forward to get back to finland and start restoring that Schaublin. It will involve quite some scraping as I suspect the machine has some wear on it. After all, it is two years older than me being manufactured back in 1955. The spindle variator is shot and there is quite a lot of play in all directions. So that means taking it apart, doing some straightening (scraping) and whatnot. I especially wait to get my hands on the scraping part as I usually find repetitive work (brainless work) quite relaxing ... asperger :)
I also look forward to see the rest of Your videos. Looks really promising so far - Your english is excellent and something in Your humour touches my fenno-ugric roots.
In case You want to see more of my work with the Schaublin, I will present that work in Zerspannungsbude where I also try to get a better german writer.

      Hi!
Thanks for the encouraging words (I/we are not alone). Hope to see your work sometime on YT. I decided to no longer hang around in forums, that eats up too much time.
All the best and a big thank you again!
