Hey 👋 Caleb, I have to admit this is a hard video to watch but as I said I totally want people to be aware!! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️ for all the help you gave me. You have so much knowledge about Coach and gosh have I learned a lot in the last few days. Thank you for all the help. And thanks for the collaboration although I wish our first collaboration would have been on a different subject I’m still extremely honored. Thanks for sharing and being there for me. 👛🛍️🚢🙏🦆🤦♀️
Hi Dee Dee! I'm glad you were up for sharing your experience on this- hopefully your story will help someone else in the future. I'm glad that Yota and I were there to help you out. That's what I love about our community, we're always there to help each other out. Our next collaboration will be on a much more fun topic, I'm sure!
How awful. Poor Dee Dee! I will be more cautious in future though it is a long time since I have bought a luxury bag on eBay, even from Japan. I had a bad experience which was my blunder, not the seller. Even so, I now like to see what I am buying even at a lower price point. Thank you for the video.
If they are coming from Japan it’s highly unlikely the items are fake. Unless it’s obviously fake and shopping from somewhere other than Japan, I wouldn’t worry. I’ve seen some sellers say they are from Japan but the bag ships from somewhere else. Japans laws are very strict about counterfeit items. Sellers would be stupid to sell and ship from Japan.
The timing is wild! I was JUST looking at some Rogues on eBay, all from “Japan”, and all suuuuuper sus. Glad I listened to my instincts. I thought the same thing about stuff coming from Japan usually being solid, so that’s a bummer.
Hi Joe! That really is wild! I'm glad we got this video out in time. I'm starting to wonder if these sellers are truly in Japan or not- maybe they're sellers from elsewhere who've set their profiles up to look like they're in Japan.

Ugh! I also see these all over ebay and mercari since the tabby became popular. I am very detail oriented so I've learned how to pick up on these over time. Another red flag I notice is when the C has plastic on it - I've never seen Coach actually do this. Thank you for supporting DeeDee Bean with this and sharing this information with the community! ❤
OH wow. This was just a fantastic video. The time you took to really show why/how things are fake is so important to get out there and help us consumers not get a fake bag. Thank you for sharing this.
I feel so bad that this happened to Dee Dee, but it could happen to absolutely anyone! Thanks so much for continuing the conversation on this and for posting this helpful video to help us learning and careful! ❣
Me too, Dee Dee is such a great person, and I hated seeing this happen to her. But I'm glad her story is having a happy ending, and hopeful this helps others stay safe in the future!
It pains me to see Japan based resellers who have worked so hard to gain the reputations that they have to be on the verge of losing them due to new variables coming into the market. Reputation is everything in business. I recently had to break the bad news to a long standing reputable Japan based reseller who has been in business for a very long time that her item might be one of those which slipped into her inventory from overseas. Third party professional authenticators further complicates the equation albeit another layer of safety net not available to us 20 or so years ago. I suspect this is one element of a bubble that’s about to burst. The so called “luxury” market is so saturated now that every system we had in the past which helped us guard a delicate balance in the pre-love market seems to be finally bursting at the seams. Thank you for your video.
Hi 👋 Orangeels… absolutely what I am sadden about as well that this is so bad for those legitimate Japanese sellers on eBay and that this will damage their business. I personally have unfollowed all my favorites from Japanese sellers, I thought my bag was the exception but 😳 once Caleb said he found several it shocked me. Not that US only vendors will be perfect but it’s closer to home and it feels a bit safer. I have been so excited to be opened up to a new market where they receive different inventory at times than we do, or vintage items so now for my collection I won’t have this avenue. 😔 I’m so sorry about this news. I’m so glad though that Caleb and @yotastyles were there to help me
Hello Dee Dee....! The Japanese reseller I dealt with has been in business for decades and they have a brick and mortar shop in Japan and a police license number such as mentioned by one of the comments here. They have been absolutely amazing in all this and I would definitely return to them if I see an item I like. Something else to mention: Caleb is clearly an authority on Coach given his history with Coach, plus he gave us blow by blow argument based on the facts as he knows them, to conclude why some of these bags are not authentic. My "fake" verdict on hand was obtained from a paid third party professional authentication service which "authenticate" multiple brands. As we all know none of them can have 100% accuracy rate. Some often got it wrong. Because my authenticator could not explain clearly whey they decided mine was a fake, I have my doubts. You can see how misjudgements in "authenticating" can affect legitimate businesses. Thank you so much once again for sharing your experience! Both of you! 🌷
Yorkdale Mall is my neighborhood mall! 😀 I can't believe that they used a fake receipt stating Yorkdale! That is so crazy! And you've shopped there, Caleb! That's awesome! They continue to renovate and add more high-end stores, so you will be very impressed the next time that you visit! Great video! Very informative! ✌🏾

Thanks Caleb for the detailed deep dive video. As a handbag lover and this is a great video for many of us in the community. I agreed with another person who commented earlier : these are not originally from Japan , they are posting as they are ( which eBay should have been more strict on location listing ). Most of these are listed as pre- owned & if buyers look into all their items listed should realize: can seller have that much quantity as pre-owned in new conditions. There’s even a fake Japanese seller listed as “ all their goods are bought from North America Outlets “. If that’s the case why are they selling and shipping from Japan ? These are completely red flags 🚩 😂for Coach lovers. This can happened to anyone, especially since Coach made a comeback from the tabby’s line & the soft tabby’s messenger bags. If anyone else have different points on red flags … let’s share it. **PS : Coach also have engraved Coach on their hardwares such as on the zipper tabs, connector rings and on magnetic closures.
This is totally scary.. I don’t buy coach but I buy a lot of second hand luxury bags from Japanese resellers so seeing this really puts me off.. luckily I’ve had everything authenticated afterwards anyway
Was the shipping label actually postmarked from Japan? There are Chinese sellers that list items as shipping from Japan because it has a better reputation for only selling authentic items.
That's a very good point. I think Dee Dee said that it wasn't actually postmarked from Japan, so I suspect maybe sellers from other countries are taking advantage of Japan's reputation and listing their profiles as being in Japan.
Caleb, what a great collab I watched DeeDee Beans video and I felt so bad for her... However, this is a great educational video for us all out here. Appreciate y'all
I am sorry about what happened to DeeDee. Buying anything preloved or from sites that are no reputable one runs the risk of being taken advantage of. I once bought what I thought was a cartier necklace from ebay and then the seller sent me some random email about not contacting him and that he had to go get the necklace from the store and it would take a while so don't cancel. It was seriously sketchy so I contacted ebay and they refunded me my money.

I've also seen fake quilted Coach heart bags from these sellers. The bags look ridiculous and they usually have plastic or scotch tape on top of the hardware. Like Coach does that--no way! Thank you, Caleb, for this info. It should help unsuspecting buyers.
Thank you for making this video! I bought a fake Chanel bag from Japan via a 3rd party website because I thought it was safe to purchase from Japan sellers given their “strict counterfeit laws.” Boy was I wrong to assume! Is it the same seller with multiple accounts? I asked the one seller, did your photos get stolen because why is there two listings with the same pics. Didn’t get an answer, 🚩 red flag! eBay I think is still sketchy, I bought one item in December but it was a numbered limited edition, I was worried til I received it even though it passed authentication, thank goodness it was an honest listing.
When I was in my very early twenties in 2005 I was a eBay LV buyer thinking it was real. I was so upset when they would show wear so quickly and the straps would break. Embarrassing. During that time I also had an issue with a person who lived with me that had a stealing property problem and would steal EVERYTHING from me. No way! I didn't check other brands, but I'll have to do that and see if it goes beyond Coach. Good catch!
I'm too afraid to buy from ebay or online. Only from my local consigment stores 😊
We have some great consignment stores in my area too!
It so sad but with coach you never miss out they always come out with rerealse or cool outlet how many Denim collecation has coach relase as super Dacob says dont do it
You're right, Hamid! There's always something new coming out from Coach!
and if wait you get a coach rouge from oulet @@CalebSnell
I received 3 fakes from 3 different Japanese sellers
Nooo- I'm sorry to hear that Donna!
Not surprising. I am skeptical of purchasing products, except for Companies I buy from. I also must say I ordered a Dooney and Bourke from Poshmark. Paid for it and NEVER received it. Scary, you don't know who your really dealing with. 😢
I had that same thing happen to me on Poshmark a year ago- it was the worst experience!
Thanks for sharing
Thank you, Shirley!
They’re faking Coach bags!?!?
Yup! You can't be too careful!
Wow, this is why I always get things double checked to make sure of it's authenticity, feel bad for DeeDee ❤!
That's a smart plan, Kaylhee!
@@CalebSnell well when we are spending as much on these bags similar to a car 🚗, house 🏠 or a vacation 🤔, I don't want to get screwed over!!
The devil is always in the details

You’re so welcome! Happy to help in any way I can.
Such a fun video and I learned a lot. thanks for your tips. I used to have a lot of trust on Japanese resellers but I recently noticed some of them are a little bit dodgy so I try to stay away from them.👻 You are so knowledgeable about bags and I love these contents!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
