Definitely not one of the greatest EDM tracks at all. Pony Boy & HARD by SOPHIE are far better. Let alone other electronic artists that are better than SOPHIE like Machine Girl, Iglooghost, Flying Lotus & Death Grips on their records ‘Fashion Week’ & ‘Interview 2016’
@@Humannbeing Art is both subjective and objective. Amny would find your assertions subjective as well just as you have found mine. I like those artists you mentioned, but I know hundreds of others as well that have top tier work such as John Hopkins, Apex, and other big shots and even underground acts like Zes. THIS to me is one of the best electronic songs ever for the simple fact literally nothing (qt least that I'm aware of) sounds like it till today for its fashion of multiple genres.
@@emmanueloluga9770 Just because something is unique doesn’t make it good, and this song isn’t even unique i know songs that sound very similar. Also John Hopkins is the definition of mediocre calling him a big shot is embarrassing
@@Humannbeing Death grips are mediocre to me as well. You see how subjective opinions work. The needledrop and many other 'music critics' rate them high, but their sound is mediocre to me. This discussion can become long and exhaustive easily, but there isn't the time to full explicate one,s opinion here.
@@emmanueloluga9770 You will come to realise how minimal the subject aspect to music is. Death Grips seems mediocre to you as you lack the perspective to understand it, and overrate other less esoteric artists as you haven’t heard better. I’m sorry if that comes off as a but bitchy but, as someones who appreciates all genres of music including industrial, classical, EDM, Jazz, HipHop, Abstract, Rock & Math Rock, Hardcore Post Punk, Reggae, Disco, Funk & Pop; i see this as true. An opinion is just what you know to be true, its not a personal preference that cannot be changed its simply not knowing how to appreciate a certain work even if you love other works from the same genre.
This was the first Sophie song I had ever heard, and as soon as it was recommended me on Spotify, I was absolutely in love. It was actually my first exposure to hyperpop music, and there are so many different hyperpop musicians I listen to now, all because of this one song. I will never forget the legendary human behind all of this, and I feel so lucky to have been alive at the same time as her in time to hear everything she had created.
@@Humannbeing You say this as if we give a fuck lolzz leave Sophie fans alone I already saw you in other comments trying to bring this song down just shut the hell up wdgaf
Skull Songs i know she did :( but i gotta day justices album is fucking great too. but yeah sophie should’ve won. i think she’d be the first trans artist to win
wish she got to make more tracks like these. both songs remind me heavily of calvin harris’ early days esp his kylie minogue productions (ex: too much)
I simply cannot find an electronic song that is as perfect as this
Have you heard SOPHIE's remix of 'A Certain Person'? That slaps as well (imo)
i can, its this song
sam gellaitry - ulcer, body call. s. charles - all discography (this is the same guy btw). VERY similar vibe.
I love this song so much
Analogue Bubblebath by Aphex Twin is as good imo. Both songs definitely come from the same dimension.
Rest In Peace to this forever legend.
This is one of the greatest EDM tracks ever. For it to be part of a debut is just pure artistic/sonic perfection. RIP Sonic Legend

One of the best electronic/House songs I've ever heard
Well you haven’t heard Machine Girl or Iglooghost yet (Try ‘Nama’ by iglooghost & ‘Krystle - URL Cyber Palace Mix’ by Machine Girl)

Nothing about this is house lol
@@damienthorsson1500 … it is quite literally a house song 😐
I just shed tears of joy at how amazing this track is. Definitely the best in its respective genre.

This is such a simple little song, but the emotion it invokes is unvanquishable. Ly forever Sophie x
