A couple of comments on this video: A) The iPad can interface directly with the lock via BlueTooth when they are within range of one another. If the user is offsite and the iPad is onsite, then the user can use HomeKit to tell the iPad, or anoother HomeKit hub that is connected to WIFI, to control the lock, and it will do so via BlueTooth. If a user doesn't have HomeKit and still wants to be able to control the lock remotely, then they will use the August Connect and the connection works in much the same way. When the user is offsite, they can communicate to the August Connect via WIFI, then it will communicate to the lock via BlueTooth. B) In every test we have done, the App always says that the network name is "Null" once connected. This seems to be a quirk of the Connect and/or the App.
Hey JP, If you have questions about connection to Samsung Smart Things, confirm with Samsungs Website. Have you checked compatibility? Also have you checked August Locks Website for Smart things connectivity and setup?
