Excellent instructional video. One update for 2021. For the Samsung s9 I received an error that my phone has "Smart Network Switch" enabled, and would stop the setup and cause problems. To temporarily disable "Smart Network Switch" do the following: 1. Open SETTINGS on phone 2. Tap CONNECTIONS 3. Tap Wi-Fi 4 Tap the MENU icon ((top right.| 3 dots on top of one another) 5. Tap ADVANCED 6. Tap "SWITCH TO MOBILE DATA" to turn OFF (if on) 7. Continue setup. 8. DON'T FOR GET TO SWITCH IT BACK!!!!

This device came with my Yale Assure lock, yet it does not connect and instead says "it looks like we need a stronger bluetooth connection to your smart lock." It is 5 ft away without even drywall in the way (it's new construction). I'm pretty sure it's just not detecting the module in the smart lock at all, yet there are no instructions I can find about how to remedy this issue. Do I need to do something additional to get the lock module to pair with the bridge?
Oh I found it in their interactive instruction app. I had to type in my code, press the gear button, press 7, press the gear button, press 1, press the gear button, and then the lock is paired with the module. It would have been nice if these instructions had been in the box.

In your video, you've turned off Bluetooth. Then the bridge is connected via wifi. Now, if you leave your house, you are no longer connected to Bluetooth or wifi. That is the scenario I am experiencing difficulty with. With reliable 4G, I lose connection to the bridge. What am I doing wrong? Thank you
Hello Charles, Are you in your home recreating the scenario as I did in the video by turning off your phone's bluetooth and wifi to simulate being away from your network when losing connection to the bridge? Or, is this loss of connection happening when you are actually away from your home, on 4G?

Which is the problem I'm experiencing. The problem is when I step away from the geofence, or out into only 4G I will try it again on the weekend and uninstall and reinstall if necessary Thank you !!
So turning off the phone wifi doesn’t disable the wifi connection of the bridge. Sounds like the issue is not a strong enough cell signal when away from home network. When away from the house, the phone connects to the August cloud, establishes a connection to your device. The bridge connects to the lock over your internal wifi. So, it seems as though the weak link is the 4G connection to the August cloud. Unless I’m totally misunderstanding what you’re asking.

Good video, but from my experience the wifi on these is very unreliable. Amazon replaced it twice and each time they told me the Connect was broken. LoLz.
The bridge is a PoS. I have owned it for all of a day and can’t get it to set up with many different things tried on iOS and Android, iPad, and iPhone.

I went through the set up but when I click on my house to control whether it's locked or unlocked the large circle just says connecting. Any suggestions?
Hi Monet, check the status light on the front of the August Connect. What color is it? If green, it should be working. If red, then something went wrong during the setup process. Go through setup again.

Reset it to factory default and try again. Make sure you follow the steps in the app. They may have changed from when this video was recorded.
