    Nice job. I have the same issue with my Coachmen. I replaced the headlights twice. The fog lights survived because they worked best. I too added a light bar. One thing I did when changing the lights is rewire them to a relay board and powered them directly from the chassis battery. The stock wiring was used to trip the relays. This made the lights much brighter because they were getting power directly from the battery.

    • @RVwithTito
      @RVwithTito  Рік тому

      Interesting solution. Thanks. I had the lightbar on the Class C wired to the house so I could turn them on if necessary with the engine off. I like the look of the new headlights on the Class A but had hoped for more light. I think I need to pull a relay as well. Mine won't let the high-beams and fog lights be on at the same time.

    • @Schwartzworld
      @Schwartzworld Рік тому

      @@RVwithTito One of the other reasons for the lack of light is due to the headlights being a knockoff of a genuine assembly. In my case, Coachmen used knockoff headlights from an Audi A6. I thought I'd hit the junkyards and find the real units to put in. Way too expensive. So I had to find what I though was a high quality aftermarket set. That took 2 tries and even that still wasn't very good. See if there are any numbers on the original headlights and see what car or truck they go to. You might get lucky and find an OEM set somewhere.

    You need to look at the box and your States vehicle code, in most states these lights are NOT legal, everyone say's I'll only use them when no other cars are around, but after driving with them on most people forget to turn them off, or start using them all the time because they say they can see better. Many states have a limit on the number of lights you can have on the front of your vehicle. After 45 years of driving a class8 truck, I have found many of my family and friends who have trouble seeing at night I turn their dash lights down to a dim setting, Not all the way off but dim, when on max setting it's like driving with a flashlight hitting you in the face, you can't see. If your Coach lights are inside your motorhome it produces glare on the windshield, you need to have a curtain behind the drivers seat to block the glare. Just a few things to check and a few things to try. Merry Christmas and Safe travels

    Is It Legal to Use Fog Lights When There’s No Fog?
    Technically, you can use your fog lights even without the presence of fog if the conditions you’re driving in entail a similar low-visibility setting. This may be the case if you’re driving in very heavy rain, for instance, or through a dust storm.
    It’s important to understand that there may be road rules covering the use of fog lights in your state. For example, there’s a law in Florida that disallows the use of fog lights and other auxiliary lights when other cars are on the road-except in foggy conditions.
    Meanwhile, in Oregon and a few other states, there is a law that prohibits the use of fog lights when you are within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle or within 350 feet if you are behind another car. This is to avoid the possibility of blinding other drivers with the glare.
    There are also states that regulate the color of your fog lights. For instance, in Washington and Colorado, fog lights must be limited to white or amber-or any color in between, in the case of the latter state.
    Always check your state or city laws about fog light usage to avoid any violations and untoward incidents.

      Definitely don't want to be that guy :) I only use it when nobody else is around and it's absolutely necessary. I think the last time I used it was when we were hunting for a turnout in the dark while driving down the Cassiar Highway on our way back from Alaska. No other souls insight. Hidden turn outs on the side of the road were almost impossible to find with just headlights.
