@@connwoolridge2077 There is no instruction on how to do the triplet on that video. In fact, there is literally LESS "detail" on how to play ANY of this lick, than there is in the video on THIS page. All they do in the new video is play. There is NO instruction on how to play the triplet. (But you already knew that when you suggested I watch -- didn't you?) So thanks for nuthin' asshole.

@@Igaveyoumyfakename Omg, I was just trying to be helpful! She DOES go into detail: right at the start mentions the flam, then around 20 seconds slows down triplet, showing she's using the left hand too.

@@connwoolridge2077 and no kidding... the vids can be slowed down... we're damn lucky to just have good camera angle and actually see it or I'd never figure this out... its kind of amazing how she gets that really consistent sound between muted slap and a counter on the left hand...

A good tutorial. I like the slapping style. You thump and pluck the right way, not staying too close to the neck. Keep funkin'!

Love Ida’s playing! But as far as this being an instructional video? Uhmmm not too helpful. The bass/fretboard is mostly in shadow -and turned away from the camera. It’s not just her left hand that’s important to see but her plucking hand creates a great deal of the percussive sound. I wish Ida would do a whole series of tutorials for us.

IDK if this helps but slowing it down on YT helps... this one at about 1:00 also shows ua-cam.com/video/AFzKBQx_MFA/v-deo.html ... what is wild is it looks like it's just two muted slaps with a left hand hit in the middle... still hard to get it consistent like her though

@MrDiscordinated: not knowing her well at all, I would still strongly disagree, what an ugly accusation! Maybe she is a little jetlagged here but what do we know? I met Ida in Frankfurt once and I was totally amazed by her energy and sheer joy of playing, I missed half the Messe but watching her play was more fun. A great spirit and no sign of being stoned. Frankly I think she enjoys playing too much to diminish it, I don´t think she needs drugs. Love and music is all it takes sometimes. Go Ida!

@MrDiscordinated: ok, I dig, peace :-). Damn she´s cool though, I just saw her doing a bass-duel with Prince last wednesday, they both stepped out on the speaker wings in front of a pretty massive L´Acoustics rig at Forum and duelled beautifully, and it was seriously funky. Also she looked like "check this out, I´m playing with Prince and the guys and it is is better than sex!" (or maybe that´s precisely what it was ;-). Way to go grrl.
