Great video! I finished this certificate and ended up getting a job as an analyst. I can't recommend this certificate enough!

@@oyetundetinuoye5047 you can start without programming background but as you progress in the course you will understand that you have to start learning programming. Great review! I started this course just under a month ago applying 1-3 hours a day and it’s great for beginners. It doesn’t cover excel outside of the readings which is kind of sad, so I often need to take extra time memorizing the excel patterns along with Google sheets. Modules 4 and 5 are also a tad repetitive if you actually do the readings and a little of the outside practice they give. In 2-3 days I’ll be at module 6, since you said it was the best (tableu and R are a nice change of pace and later I hope to learn powerquery and power pivot) I very much look forward to it.
dope! great work!
Glad 2 C someone who actually completed the program give a review. We need more of this & less of the opinion (those who didn't successfully complete it...) reviews. Congrats The Work Life Man on your achievement⭐!

I actually noticed the enrollees reducing as you progressed through the program too. There are 2 many ppl lacking the drive & discipline 2 complete the program aside from personal obligations/distractions. Then some complain later because THEY lack the focus. Some still complain after completion because they assume a degree or certificate supposed 2 get them a job which is a false motive & expectation. They don't realize that those things are a PART of landing a job. Not a requirement or prerequisite. They have to market or effectively communicate those hard skills they've learn - soft skills included.

if you can get an entry level job cleaning data, that's great. I graduated with a statistics degree years ago. The stuff I learned like minitab and SAS at the time in 1990 was so antiquated, it was useless. You needed lots of SAS experience to be even considered for a stats job regardless of any stats training you had. My profs probably had no idea how far back the training had fallen compared to the market because they were professors and not in the field.

around 7:55 You mentioned something about the career help center only applies to candidates that are US residents. what exactly is 'the career help center and what's the job offer you speak of?
Google and a few other tech companies have pledged to treat this certificate the same as a 4-year degree. The career help center matches graduates of the certificate with those employers.

@@sarahetsesaiguilles Hi! I’m currently on course 7 which is the penultimate course. Personally, I would say it’s has been a great learning experience for me. As someone that is learning some of the tools e.g SQL for the very first time, I’ve definitely encountered lots of challenges, but I’ve got a great community of likeminded individuals helping me through every difficulty. Besides, the courses are well structured and broken down to the lowest level for adequate understanding. Nothing good comes easy, learning anything new is never easy at first but with time, you’ll definitely become good at it. So if you’re thinking of taking the GDA certificate, I highly recommend.

if we suspend the course for a while, and want to continue again, after a few months, will we able to do that wihtout having to pay for the suspended period?
My understanding is you are paying $39/month subscription. You can pause at any time. Your subscription ends the last day you paid for. You can restart any time. Not sure if this is correct, so verify. Did you check the FAQ?
Hello, thank you for this video! about to enrol on this course next week. Once you have completed the certificate do you still have access to the material provided or can you not access it when your subscription ends? Also the certificate uses google sheets but I was wondering if I could go through the course using excel instead since I feel learning that would be more beneficial.
As long as you have a subscription, you can access the course materials regardless of if you completed the certificate or not. I believe you can follow on using excel, they are very much same in the terms of formulas and calculations
@@walegbads Ah right, shame about that but its good I can go through the course with excel. Thank you!

Big bonus of this certificate is that 130 companies accept it after you finish it and doors open up straight away to get hired and begin on working for someone.
Plus the salary at data science and machine learning is astronomical lol 😆

This certification touches on machine learning as well? What’s a good starting salary you think for someone with a certificate like this?
@@TheGr8-1 with the certificate and a good portfolio of Projects to back you up its around 70k a year starting salary. But when you get the experience in from working for someone for a year or two its around 160-270k. You pick up gradually as you work so experience comes naturally.
And 180-250k plus bonuses from company stocks around 30-50k a year.
But i have seen people get a good starting salary of 180+ with this certificate and basic knowledge.

Omo Naija big ups man.
Do you think someone could find an entry level job with this certification?
Yes. How i see it is, the google certificate should be used to supplement your degree or whatever pre-existing skills you had before earning the certificate. So as an entry level, you want to have more than one subject area of knowledge so as to increase your chances of securing a job. This means to word your resume to tell a narrative that sounds credible and believable, something along the lines of "in addition to my pre-existing skills and knowledge i also have proficiency in data analysis where i have done xyz..., within x-time period, see below link to my portfolio". Hope this answers your question.
