    GORGEOUS! Maybe I don't need a relaxer to straighten my natural hair. Since I workout, I'm concerned about reversion. I prefer straighten hair instead of curly.

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  6 років тому +1

      +Anissha Blackwell it all depends on your hair texture and hair type. Of course with a relaxer your hair will be chemically straight but your natural hair with excessive flat ironing will start to kill your curl pattern.

    • @Annabee399
      @Annabee399 6 років тому

      Assunta Conyers Thanks for the advice... I've been wearing natural hair underneath a wig for a year. So I will commit to the flat press and avoid getting a relaxer.

    Very pretty. I can not stand to have my head wrapped up. I've been trying totrain myself by using my detangling comb and tying my satin cap on my head before I lie down to sleep and before I put on my caps. I put in a texturizer because my 4 double D hair, yes I made that up, lol, was looking like too much of a hot mess. Now, my hair looks like yours. I thought O was done buying hot tools, but I have to get that flat iron!!! The teeth are so much farther apart and better designed than my other root pressing iron.

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  7 років тому +1

      4 double d lol.....This flat iron is the truth huunnny! Just a heads up it is extremely hot on the highest setting so if your hair is anything like mine I would suggest using 350 or lower.

    I've struggled with my 3c 4a hair my whole life. most flat irons don't straighten enough and it frizzes back up because I sweat in my scalp. it's super soft with very little product but dries out fast but as soon as I add water to my hair it turns white with product raising to the surface. is that low or high porosity? I do the mini curly fro with the headband a lot since that's the only way my edges stay smooth. but when I put my eco gel to set my curls while brushing through with the Denman brush I'm noticing parts of it are straighter as its getting longer. I've never been natural this long before so keeping it moisturized but not wet so I can get a good sheen to it without wet setting has been so hard unless I pull it up. any advice since you are the closest to my texture that I've seen?

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  7 років тому +1

      +Virginia Charles Low porosity means your hair struggles to absorb. If your finding that conditioners are just coating and not penetrating your hair then I suggest you add heat from a hooded or hand held dryer or steam to your routine. The heat will help your hair absorb the product. Do you still have relaxer in your hair? When I decided to go natural I was afraid of my hair being so short that I kept some of my length however most of the length was relaxed. When I tried treating my hair as if it was completely natural it didn't work! So I cut off all the relaxer! It was like I was holding the life of my hair back by trying to keep dead ends!

    I don't care for perms because they burn my scalp...even the regular ones. So I need to be able to straighten my hair without perming it and burning my scalp. This is a good option. My crown is the most difficult part to staighten..so the flat iron and hot comb combo may just do it. Saran is needed-a plastic cap won't work with this would it? And afterwards I can just wrap my hair as usual...and be cute, right? My hair texture change because if the environment...humidity, moisture outside...idk what it's going to do. I just don't want to perm it to get it to lay down but still want the body if course

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry for this delayed response!
      It really depends on your hair texture and if you sweat easy! I have consistent hot flashes. Currently my hair is cut in a pixie I decided to leave the crown of my hair natural and just relax the sides. This keeps the thickest part of my hair healthy and helps with wrapping and keeping it straight because my sides are relaxed. I know it’s 3 months too late but I hope this helps!

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  7 років тому +2

      +Lashawn Morgan wrapping your hair with Saran Wrap seals the oil and then the heat of the dryer opens your cuticles scales so that those oils penetrate deeper giving you added moisture. All I did was comb it out of the wrap!

    does a silk press take away your curl pattern for good? can you still be a naturalist who is still growing their out? can you still wear protective styles?

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  7 років тому

      +Cristiana Grimm pressing your hair out consistently will cause heat damage! If you are natural and growing your hair out and want to keep your hair pressed you have to be prepared to alter your curl pattern. The heat will begin to train your hair to stay straight.

    • @kniiightro9740
      @kniiightro9740 7 років тому

      Assunta Wilson so then each time you get a silk press for the new growth I would need to keep doing a silk press or can just get one...once a year? how long does it last?

    • @AssuntaBrenewed
      @AssuntaBrenewed  7 років тому +2

      +Cristiana Grimm silk press is straightening your hair with a flat iron or pressing comb its not a chemical process so it will last according to your maintenance hair type texture humidity etc
