Excellent! You guys do good work there. So much fun. “ I swear I’m going to start landing these consistently one day” I get it, lol we used to “count coup” by getting a foot hit without getting whacked ( free stuff is always the best stuff ).
The constant circling is smart, I’m short, fat, and have T. rex arms, the main guy I spar with has much more reach. I have found it’s easier for me to enter by circling because people lose track of that fine line of safe distance if you keep shifting it around constantly.
    Good stuff. Thanks!

      Thank you so much.
Circling is sooo important. I just get overly competitive sometimes when the big guys try to bully me 😂😂😂

    Thank you for the video!
Is it maybe possible for you guys to demonstrate unarmed FMA techniques in sparring, as well? Like the trapping, locks, takedowns and destructions?

    Amazing video!!
Is it possible for you guys to demonstrate other weapon-based FMA techniques in sparring as well, such as the sash/scarf, knife and stick, and short/long spear?
Also, can your tutorial playlist benefit all types of weapons besides the stick/blade? I am wanting to use it with the spear/staff of any length but am unsure if the movements will benefit the type of weapon I have in mind

      Thank you so much.
Can definitely make a video on double stick, knife and stick and knife. I'm not sure we have enough space to properly spar with long spears or staffs. Not in class with other people around for sure.
Also the basic principles behind the tutorials will apply to the spear. Footwork strategies, how to enter etc
Even the basic strikes could work if you hold the staff in the middle and use the two ends to strike.
But in Pekiti the staff is it's own subsystem.
There is a lot of cross over from the other weapons but it's very hard to explain those over text. You're honestly better off training the staff as a seperate thing in the beginning and then later coming back and using the principle of Pekiti to help refine your movements.

@@lighthavenindia thank you so much! Do you have any recommendations on where to start staff/spear training before converting to Pekiti movements?

Let me do some research and get back to you. If you can send us an email at lighthavengoa@gmail.com then I can send you links directly.
Just give me a few days to look through UA-cam for some good sources, cause there are alot of really bad sources out there as well.

the way the second guy was sparing is almost the exact way how a street fight will happen , mostly more aggresivly cutting the range and closing in the opponent , lot of grappling and hitting will be ther . rest of the opponents its good for practice but real life events will be different . also i notice no one is intercepting the opponent, they are just roaming in circles . If one is preparing for a real fight and wants to use the techniques in real life senario the practice should include more angles . there will be no equal matches in real fight .
but the positive point is actual contact exercise are must so that the fear of a hit goes off . even sanjiv who is a practisener is afraid of strikes .
