I’m an sp404 mk2 user, I switched from mpc+ which is also dope but you made this machine look like a gem. It’s never the equipment, always the user. Dope vid!
The way you explain stuff and what you're doing rules so much. Got so much groove and reeeeaaally got that character down with the chops, thanks forever!!
I'm really digging these Lofi 12 XT tutorials you're making. Any chance you could make a video focusing on the master compressor? Like optimal settings for drum breaks and maybe how to use the side chain properly. I'm a little lost when it comes to this. Anyway, keep up the good work, your videos have helped me a lot and your beats are pure fire. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment 🍻 I haven't yet explored either of those. I'll consider it, but I've been trying to refocus lately back to songwriting rather than videos and tutorials. Can't promise anything now but I have my phases. Truly appreciate the viewership and comment 🙏
@@LiftedNoise …collecting dust together 🤣🤣🤣 yeah that’s why it has to wait. Making beats still is in the backseat to my other hobbies and responsibilities. Watching your videos keeps me relevant. 🤣
Great Job! Nice little machine with a lot of cool features. I will stick with my mk2 & mpc. Im not a fan of chopping on the mk2 prefer the sx & mpc way.
Tutorial was levels!! Preciate the share!! Also loving the knob replacement mods you got going on. Can I ask where you got those? They really make the machine look complete.. Subscribed 🙏🏾
That semi tone tip is not true. 12 semitones is double the speed. So one halfstep is double speed divided by 2 and then by 12. So if your sample is 70 bpm one semitone is 5.83 bpm. In this case it worked cause you are in the range of 70 bpm. But if your sample is 90 bpm a semitone is 7.5 bpm.
@@LiftedNoise its a trick I use all the time. One octave up or down ist the same bpm and key. you can create interesting new chops with this method. But also 3, 6 and 9 will keep the rhythm in most cases even it is another bpm.
yeah as soon as i heard it was like... um - no way is that true. i make a few genres of music and some of them (especially industrial) can cover a wide range of BPM. i'll do anything from like 60bpm to 190.
I’m new and I’m starting to make dawless beats but I’m stuck between getting sp404 mkii or lofi 12 xt. what do you think is best choice for me as a beginner?
You know I was currently thinking about putting together an SP-404 MKII vs Lofi-12 XT video/stream outline. I think I'd rather do it live. It's easier to answer these types of questions for people when I get more of your perspective.
@christianthompson1473 hmm..I haven't done a slice save. I do have a beat saved that I only saves the project and pattern and that seems to open fine with all the proper settings..

That 1 semi tone 5 bpm tip is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Definitely 👌 thanks for the drop in!! 🍻
What?! 🤯 Did not know that 😄
@@ChrisLodyMusic wish I KNEW years ago! 🤦♂️
Also not true.
@@jimmyfandago3211 you're right but having done some working out, it's close enough as a rule of thumb around the 90bpm so still useful

where you bought those knobs?
Dude, I swear... Every time I get *the* piece of gear, another doodad comes along and triggers my G.A.S.
I'm curious.. What did you just get? It's fun to try new pieces, but it's better to master one.
@@LiftedNoise The Woovebox lol
@thecolorcomputer hmm the thing doesn't look too interesting to me but does sound powerful for what it looks like.

Nice sample bro. The beat is fire
This is gold! Just what I needed. I'm still getting into the Lofi-12 XT, but was tediously trying to beatmatch samples. Dope!
It's definitely doing a lot of the work you behind the scenes. Makes it super easy 👌 🍻

Great tutorial. I'll have to snag one of these once go back to work and have some spare cash.
No doubt! 😎 it'll sit nicely next to the Smpltrek!

I prefer chopping in the sp mk2 over the mpc but I also prefer to copy pad and chop manually.

Wow, you can cut samples without saving drumkits. Much faster than smpltrek.
Yes and you can copy samples between tracks very easily as well. Workflow smooth 👌

Did you not need to save your slices using ftn/ok. ?
Yea. Patterns seemed to need to be saved as well. Would be a good request to make everything save under project in one instance.
@@LiftedNoise yes I mentioned the slice save because they must be saved separately... pattern save loses the slices
@christianthompson1473 hmm..I haven't done a slice save. I do have a beat saved that I only saves the project and pattern and that seems to open fine with all the proper settings..
Slice saving if you want to use the slice settings in another pattern or even project
No one tells that it cant reverse samples. Even simple one shots. Basic sampler function is missing. So lame)))
@ahteha8010 i hadn't thought about it. Not really a feature i use a whole lot. Do you reverse often?
Yeah. Reversed crashes, kicks and vocals all the time. Hope they will add it in future updates.
@ahteha8010 i do the crashes for sure! Thought maybe rev was in there but yea definitely shouldn't be too difficult to add.
