Most mature male bears are more solitary so the day will come when they are no longer bud's but to have the beginnings together is really cool. Great humans doing an amazing job of rescuse and release projects with wild life. Obvously the humans know what they need to do to insure bears are not dependent on people. Lets pray they never are as it usually means the end of the bear's life. And not just bears. So adorable to watch and stay safe everyone.

Black bears have a kinder demeanor than most bears! Grew up around them. They're like the dogs of the bear world. Pit bulls, but dogs nonetheless.
Rarely do black bears attack humans not as defensive action. If you get too close to their cubs or corner them, they'll act accordingly. But give them space, they'll just curiously sniff around and go about their business. Sometimes they'll waddle up to your campsite, seeing if you have food, but they don't see you as food (unless you are a salmon (are you a salmon? (how did you learn to use a computer???)))
If one approaches you in the wild - e.g. hiking - stand up tall, arms up, make loud noises and leave the area in a calm but expeditious manner. DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. This is a sign of aggression across all species, but especially bears. Especially grizzlies. Grizzlies are godless, marauding killing machines. Do not trust grizzlies. Do not let them borrow money. They will not pay you back.

For everyone who thinks animals don't feel, or have emotional bonds, they DO! Granted once they reach the "BIG" STAGE when they can eat you, things change. Same with all wild animals. As babies they are adorable and "NEED" us to survive. Once they become adults, instincts can kick in and then ?? Your love for these babies is so awesome! I'd do the same exact thing if I was in the same position. I tried to save a baby bird as a child, but it died, and the "guilt" I felt as a little kid was tough.
