I have not yet (except once I think) considered the cards entities or alive. I have always connected them with either a spiritual peer (like one of the fae for example) or a higher power (like Hekate or whatever entity I choose to ask questions of). Is there value in considering the deck an autonomous entity? It seems to me it would be unlikely to be helpful to take this view too seriously, but I would love to be corrected if there is a good reason for it. I have always seen the cards as opportunities for the numinous to reach out to us. What do you think?
I know that from an Animistic perspective, everything possesses a spiritual essence. I see the cards as tools where I can connect with my higher knowing or guides.
