Materials
• Pillow filling for stuffing out your form - we used an old pillow
• Scissors
• 2-3 rolls of duct tape
• Cardboard
• An old hip-length T-shirt
• Foil or saran wrap (for the neck)
• Metal base (Optional if you’d like a standing dress form)
TIPS FROM LESLIE
• Try to tape as tight as you can without hurting your model/friend
• Try to keep the tape as straight as you can and avoid bumps and bubbles
• Make sure your model ties up her hair so it doesn’t get stuck in the tape
• Make sure you have enough stuffing, you want to stuff the dress form till it’s firm

I used newspaper for stuffing, worked great!
use a expanding foam after you sealed off the neck and shoulders with a wood plank cut to the width of the shoulders and from the neck down that way you get more of a solid feel
Good idea
This is fantastic! This looks like one of the more successful Duct Tape Donnas I've seen. I do have one idea. My observation is that, with this technique, the shape, size, and separation of "the girls" are diminished, or sometimes even flattened out altogether. This is a concern for me: my girls are considerable. I have thought about, when it's time for me to make my own Donna, I'll sacrifice a well-fitting bra, wearing it *outside* the T-shirt. Instead of cutting it in the back, cut just the tape over the hook & eye closure. Anyone have any feedback on this?
I've seen a duct tape build pad out the breasts afterwards, using shoulder pads or stick-on "chicken cutlets", then duct tape over that again. Seemed to work well!
Thanks for this! Definitely has merit, but I will say (as a former costumer) that I don't see how one could stuff enough fluff in there for it to be functional. The expanding foam suggestion might work well, or a combination? You really have to be able to pin, hang pieces, and draw/write on fabric it while on the form, so the more firm the better. I do appreciate seeing it done, though. Helps troubleshoot before I try it!! I'm definitely all for not paying for a form- $$$$!
It looks like the stuffing is not full enough, it may change the measurements.
Thank you so much! My sister and I just made mine!
This is exactly what we’re doing in theatre arts
What a disappointing ending.
Awesome vid and 1st comment yeyyyy!
jack hutton Woo hoo!!!
How much tape did you use?
Where do I begin. Just started viewing tutorials on DIY dress forms. The very, very best one of these is found on the Threads channel. A 20 min two parter, seriously and professionally done. After you view it, doing a five minute video just does not cut it.
That comment at the end.😮
Caveat Emptor - the Tshirt can NOT be stretch or have viscose or you won't know the right give after taking it off.
Thank you

Thank you FunkyFrog575!!
You need cardboard to make it sturdier.
is it just me or does anyone else feel like this is really weird?
This is great. But I can't tell if one should wear a bra or not? What do you advise?
I would think you should wear a bra. If you are making clothes where you mainly need to wear a bra. But it's all your preference.
i would suggest wearing one as well.
1knowUknow yes
wear bra or it won't shaped in the correct place, just wear the same bra with the dress
doin it
Hi
Meh.
They could stuff it more, but duct tape *does* stretch (part of how it seals so well), so, I guess I'm not so impressed.
Такую работу наазывают - "Одной левой " , стыдно было бы и показывать это ...
I bet that was not comfy
