It's so fortunate that we had the exact same pen with literally the exact same issue. You are a godsend and just saved me $50 from having to buy a new pen. That may not seem like much but for a broke student like me, it's the world. Thank you so much man!
Haha that's awesome! Haha yeah, I'm super careful with it now. I haven't dropped it once since I fixed it, although there have been some close calls haha
oh my Lord I can’t tell you how much grateful I am, I just had a relief breakdown which I’ve never had before in my 23 years old life, like u saved my job and my career, srs thank you sm
I was extremely sad yesterday after my pen stopped working properly and my warranty already expired...then I found this video, tried to go through your instructions and holy crap, it's working!! You saved 60€ from my wallet and I can not tell how thankfull I am .... so at least one big THANK YOU Russell. it helped a lot.
That's awesome Roman! I love hearing of another success story! Yeah I was pretty sad when mine stopped working too, felt so good to fix it though! Happy drawing/sculpting/painting!
That's awesome man! I'm happy to hear! Oh man, solid play on taking it to a phone service store, that's smart, so nice they did it for free! Thanks for the sub!
You don't know how thankful I am for this video. I am not from a good country like USA so I can't even think about asking for support. My nib broke so I used this video to open my pen and carefully take off the little part left. Now is working again! yaay
Woohoo that's awesome! Yeah I thought I might need to at the very least drop $50 on a new pen and was so happy when this worked haha, glad to hear it worked out!
thanks so much for posting this video , my pen also broke one wire off from the pc board, followed your instruction and work slowly and gently. You just saved me R1200 in South African currency ($63) and I now have a happy 15 year old again ! Luckily electronics is also my hobby so soldering was not a problem , but it shouldn't be a big one for your average person , or just take it to a phone repair shop and ask them to solder the wire back on if you cant do it yourself.
yea not a worry! I'm so glad to hear it helped. haha, its always nice to come through for the kids! :) oh yes, a familiarity with electronics and soldering makes this an easy fix. Yes that's a good point, I should have maybe mentioned that in my video, I can imagine a electronic repair shop might do it for free or for very cheap since it is such a quick and easy job. glad to hear it helped!
You're a real lifesaver, thank you so much! This was the exact same issue with my 1060 tablet's and even tho I'm an electrician, I would NEVER thought that this would be the cause. Also you saved my pen too from being cut in half!
i can't express in words how absolutely, incredibly enthused i am -- second time ever soldering, first time on _anything_ electronic... and it worked perfectly! (mine was the HS610 -w/- PW100 pen) i thought i'd have to buy a new drawing pad... but nope, seriously the best tutorial video i've seen in a _while_!
Thank you for this! My pen was doing the exact same thing, once I got it apart sure enough it was that one little wire. My DIY attempt at soldering it didn't work to well but I found a simple kit on Amazon for 15 bucks and it worked perfectly once I got it re-soldered! Life and wallet saver!
Yeah no worries! Haha yeah the DIY solder is a little dodgy haha, much better idea to go with the soldering iron haha! Nice job! I'm happy to hear you got it fixed!
I almost bought a new unit of Huion because my pen doesn't work. And after watched this video I check inside of my huion pen battery free, the wire was detached. I buy a solder in hardware stores and DIY fixing! And it worked! Thanks!
Thanks! I contacted Huion who told me my pen was defective and they told me to buy the WRONG model pen! Which didn't work. I'm sending it back. So glad to find your video - I got the old pen apart - still need to locate a screwdriver and candle and do the rest of the job but I am pretty sure this is going to solve the problem - thanks for taking time to record this video!
I'm so grateful for your video, been trying to work out what the problem was with my pen juttering for days til someone mentioned it may be loose wire - just followed your video to open it up and would you look at that, its a disconnected wire! I'm not brave enough to try soldering but I didn't want to drop a load of money on a new pen without being sure the pen was the problem not the tablet, so thanks so much!
Definitely had the exact same issue, spent 3 hours looking for a fix, came across your vid and sure enough had the same issue. Soldered it and right as rain. Thank you!
I had this happen to my Kamvas 20 pen. I have a Kamvas 12 that uses the same pen so initially thought I'd use that, but after seeing this, and figuring my tablet is well past warranty anyway, that I would try this tutorial. Turned out to be the exact same issue. So glad that fixing the issue was this easy, that's hopefully put 3 or so years back into this pen. Thank you for this tutorial.
Each pen plus shipping cost me around 50 bucks off amazon, and I already have three, two not working. I got both opened up and fixed for thirty bucks, and they work perfectly. The only regret I have is not finding your video sooner. THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH
WORKS! saved myself a 1000 pesos. I tried doing the DIY solder but sadly it didn't work so I just went to a phone repair shop since they have one. They only charge me for 20 pesos, my transpo fair was 30 pesos. overall, I only spend 50 pesos for it to be fix instead of buying a new one. glad I found this! HUGEE HUGEE THANKSSS!
Thank you sooooooooo Much. I never dropped my pen but I kept experience pen skips and the buttons on the pen would only sometime work. Spent hours updating drivers, redownloading and reinstall software to no avail. Saw this video and open up my pen and what do I find? one of the wire is no longer attached to the soldering. A quick soldering and the pen is working like new, no more pen skips, no lags. Thanks again for this great video. saved me from buying a new expensive pen and a lot of headache.
Niiiiice! That's awesome to hear! Woohoo! Yeah exactly, I'm sure there have been many people out there that have had the exact same problem but never bothered to try and open the pen up and just struggled with drivers and restarts and cables for hours and days, only to end up spending $60 on a new pen. It's unfortunate that it seems to be a common problem, but its' nice that its at least not super hard to fix. Glad to hear it worked for you!
Thanks a lot for the video. I dropped my pen and, the nib broke and there was no way to replace it without taking the pen apart. The remaining part of the nib was inside the little pipe in the coil and it was really difficult to get a grip both with my fingernails or with the tool for removing the nibs. Luckily my nail cutter did the job. I extracted the broken nib, put another one, assembled the pen and now everything works fine.
THANK YOU!! This helped me a lot! The pressure wasn’t functioning correctly and it’s all because of the spring inside getting stuck. Going to be careful with dropping it now! ^^
I'm sure you've probably read this a lot in the responses to this video, but you're indeed a saviour. My pen was driving me insane, and I was already considering buying a new one before I saw this tutorial... Still can't believe how flimsy those components are. They're built to break, and fast. Thanks!
Haha yeah it's always nice when it actually helps someone! Yeah it's top bad, the wire is so thin it's crazy, definitely could have been done better. Glad to hear you got it fixed!
Thanks man! I had exactly the same issue with PW507 and I guessed what the problem was, but I had no clue how to disassamble this pen and was afraid to experiment with that. Your video helped me a lot! Huge thanks!
No worries man! Glad it helped! Yeah, I had a sneaking suspicion that something broke inside too haha, and it took me like a week and two separate tries before I finally mustered up the courage to keep pulling and pushing and twisting until it came apart. Once it did though, didn't take long until I was back to the drawing board!
@@RussellMidfield Thank you a lot for your courage and persistence to find a way to open it! I only had enough courage to remove buttons' cover, than I just twirl this pen in my hands for a while and shamefully give up haha!
@@RussellMidfield hmmm I have not any paintings on this channel (except for avatar i made 5 years ago lol) this is basically an account to watch not to post. @@HawkSK2SVA Oh sorry I clicked on another account and thought it was yours! Oh but you do paint! Your paintings are very nice! Well done! Yeah, you should try 3d! You are very artistic already, 3d should be no problem for you!
holy hell... I was sooo worried my tablet might be broken and I'd have to get a new one... turns out I can fix it myself in a matter of minutes. big relief. Much appreciation to you sir!
Thank you SOO SOO much!! i struggled alot trying to separate the pen, it just wouldn't budge. I suggest removing the rubber part of the pen, since in my case the rubber part kept spinning and turning so I couldn't put any pressure on the silver ring. BUT since the rubber part is removed be careful and don't don't press too hard because it's a little thin. and HUGE THANKS to my mom, she suggested using a rubber band or any kind of rubber to get a better grip on the pen. She did most of the work since I was tried and losing hope. After a few minutes we finally saw some movement! good news we had a soldering iron and extra solder, bad news is the tip of the soldering iron was kinda messed up and I had no experience, my mom did but she's far sighted and couldn't see well because it was small. Spent many hours yesterday trying, and accidentally dropped solder close to the chip (oops) couldn't get any progress done. Tried again today and I managed to fix it! but my stupidity got the best of me, I didn't EVEN *step out of the room* and I managed to drop the pen! so the wire disconnected again! the faces of my mom and sister when they saw me lol. I'm actually glad I dropped it since it removed the solder that fell close to the chip AND i managed to connect the wire better while soldering it. Long story short, it was a struggle haha! once again, thank you so much! if i hadn't seen your video I would have had to buy a new pen. They're VERY expensive here! 200+ in my currency!
I actually ended up having a different problem where a little piece of something somehow got stuck behind the nib in my pen, messing up the pressure sensitivity. Although it wasn't the same as your problem, your video definitely helped. I could not figure out how to disassemble the pen until watching this. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I was worried that I would need to purchase a new pen but this worked perfectly. It turns out that one of the wires was loose like you said. Once I managed to fix it at 2 in the morning lol it worked.
Thank you so much. Worked for me as well. If only more people would see this video. Many pen problems would just disappear in dust. XD I don't know why Huion connects the wires so thin. No surprise this breaks easily..
No worries! I'm glad it helped! Yeah, I try and post this on the Huion subreddit on Reddit every once in a while, when I see people having similar issues as I did, so hopefully more will stumble across it. Haha yea, it's too bad that the way they connected the wire is obviously not well done, but it's nice in that its a relatively easy fix, especially if you have a soldering iron.
Thank you very very much! That video helped a lot! I thought my Huion Kamvas 19 is broken but it was only the pen. My husband fixed it thanks to your video!
Wow thank you so much! I can't believe it worked... I tried to solder it for like an hour with a candle and eventually tried to do it with the stove, which worked much better for me :)
That's awesome, I'm glad it worked! Haha yeah, the candle took a long time for me too, I gave up the first time, and came back to it later, stove is a much better idea!
wow. I can't believe how this pen is so vulnerable to fall yet huion didn't even give it any proper means of dissasembling aside from forcing it open by pressure. thanks for this video and instruction, it worked. I just hope HUION will make their pens more durable in the future.
Thanks, my art student daughter was distraught as she had an assignment to finish and her pen stopped working. Got it fixed in no time at all because of this video.
A little tips to separate the pen faster : apply some heat to the joint with a hairdryer, use the highest setting for 30 sec to a minute to melt the glue. I successfully opened it a minute later!
I think each pen has different glue strength. Russel's pen looks much more easier to separate while mine is such a monster, even with the hairdryer trick and hours of twisting! Still, it IS possible to disassemble the pen with your bare hands. You really just gotta go with it
Yeah, in the video I had already spent like half an hour twisting it and separated it, so this was the second time for me, which was a lot easier. The first time took a while though you're right!
Thank you so much dude you save me. my pen wasn't working yesterday and i thought i had the same issue as yours. i dissamble the pen and there was water around the wires and inside the nib plug. Turned out my niece dipped the pen in the fish tank. I dried it well it's working like normal now.
@@RussellMidfield Just need to find the right one that charges via USB and/or by crank. What sites do you recommend besides Amazon to find reliable kits? I also had this bedtime thought about the skill. I can vouch for sewing like you did for soldering because it's another useful skill that can reduce wasting. People throw away nearly new clothes because a button popped off. If you dive deeper into sewing, you can create a lot of things for much cheaper.
Oh nice! Haha yeah, mine is still going strong a few years later. Haven't dropped it since. I definitely am a lot more careful than I was originally which has helped.
Even after 4 YEARS this problem has not been fixed. I thought my Drawing tablet was downgraded to a small high-resolution monitor after my pen stopped working like it should. Then today my thoughts finally clicked and decided to figure out if I can fix the problem. After 2 hours of work, my pen works again! Now I can get back to my doodles!
How to fix when pen pressure doesn't go up and down. Accidentally it was dropped and the pressure stops working. And You deserve much more subscribers and you have mine.
@@RussellMidfield Everything thing is working fine only the pen nib was not going up and down and that was causing it to write in same thickness. But after some time I simply did this hack by dropping the pen from about 5 to 6 cm vertically and the pressure was working. It was like Banging the TV until signal come, but gently.😅
Also, I don't know if it comes under your category can you make Videos on how to make models of molecules in Chemistry. I have seen some of the simulation which has been made on Blender. I wonder how it's done. Thanks your time.
Thanks mate! Same problem but I don't have a soldering iron so i just use some sew threads and bunch the wire with the solder joint, work fine again :) I bought the H1060P for around 40$ and the pen alone cost 20$ (I know it's cheap but it's half the whole pack price :). I think they made them so easy to broke so they could sell more lmao.
although i couldn't do the solder by myself, this was super helpful to actually find the problem! I'm using a Inspiroy h950p and had the exact same issue, same wire too. I'ts an old tablet but living outside of the US means even a replacement pen for an old model would be pretty expensive for me. Thanks a lot for this video!
Haha oh nice, that's awesome! Yeah I found I had the hovering issue a month or so ago so I took my pen apart and put it back together and it disappeared!
so 4 days ago my pen just died on me, and i found this video. i opened up my pen, and the two wiring seemed okay at first but when i gently tap it, one of the wiring came off (?!), i took it to phone repair tech and have it resoldered, its working now, but i bcme very cautios when using the pen now 😥 anyway thanx very much for this video, u are a real hero 🙌🙌🙌 ❤️❤️ if i cant get the pen fixed, i have no fund to buy pen/tablet again,
i had literally no experience working w any hardware or soldering or ANYTHING but i managed to fix my bitchass pen thanks to u, may everything good happen to u !!!!!!
Almost broke my pen doing this, but it works perfectly! For now. I'm surprised how little solder my pen had inside, everything hanging by a thread. Love the device, but not going to lie the pen worries me.
holyyyy shit! this is precisely my pen, my problem, and my solution, same solder was broken. thank you so much for the fix, saved me 50 bucks for a new pen
Thanks dude, this allowed me to take the internals OUT and put them in a pen holder that is smaller and feels more like a traditional tool. With a small display tablet i have the original stylus is so unwieldy to me and just gets in the way.
I decided to take my pen apart because I already purchased a new one and I already don't have a warranty. I wanted to see if this one was just dirty. It started making my fingers tingle and now it doesn't work at all so I think its officially broken. My wires where intact but the right one looked a little off, but I couldn't really see.
No I didn't, I don't have any on hand right now, I just made use of the solder that was already there, it was enough that I could make the connection again, although just barely.
Thanks sir, i followed the tutorial for PW100 Pen (HUION H640P), but the way to taking the pen apart in minutes 1:50 is different on PW100 pen, it can't be opened with the way you open it, i split it in half with cutter. Anyway thanks a lot, sorry for my bad English👍
In my case, when I droped my pen, the ferrite core inside the coil (a long black cylinder) was broken in two, and I simply glued it back with super glue. Be carreful, do not put too much super glue, just a bit!
Did it work properly? I have the same problem. Like when I try to draw, even if I’m not applying any pressure the pen just clicks everything. I opened the pen and the ferrite core was broken into two, I just gave up and build the pen again. But for you it worked to add glue?
Thank you so much! You just saved me a lot of maney and sanity. I was crying cuz me, as a simple student, wouldnt be able to aford such a important item por me.
Thank you very much here in sri lanka i had my tab pen broken pen is as expensive as the tab it self according to government tax thank to you i could fix it easily and one thing you guys are really lucky to be somewhere you get paid for what you do here its a heck😥 thank you again you saved this poor man
Thank you Jesus. Thank you Friend. It seems all I needed to do was change my pen nibs. my huion hs611 clicked stuff on its own, making it impossible to draw or animate. Changing the nib(pen tip) worked for me.
@@foreskinfairy haha lol! you were right! looks like it shows up a little higher in the huion pen fix search now! you should be a UA-cam SEO consultant lol
I've had this happen with two different pens. I feel like that wire is a common breaking point. First one that broke is fair. I was beating against my thigh to the beat of music. But the second time, it just stopped working. No fall, nothing aggressive. I just put it on its stand, and the next time I picked it up, nothing.
Damn, yeah it definitely seems to be a super common issue from what I've seen. Oh gosh I'm just waiting for it to stop randomly working like that haha, I don't think my hack job of a solder is going to last much longer haha.
@@RussellMidfield Same, it's honestly made doing art a bit scary as I don't want to set deadlines for anything. And as a chronic procrastinator, I need those deadlines, heh.

IT WORKED!!!! Bought a soldering iron and had to reteach myself how to use a soldering iron again, but it worked! Thanks!
YES! That's awesome! Good call on buying the soldering iron haha, candle and an oven mitt isn't the best way haha
@@HawkSK2SVA Haha no worries! Your paintings on your channel are awesome btw! You got some talent!

holy hell... I was sooo worried my tablet might be broken and I'd have to get a new one... turns out I can fix it myself in a matter of minutes. big relief. Much appreciation to you sir!
Haha yeah I was feeling the same way, I was so pumped when it came back to life! Yeah I'm just glad it helped!
That's awesome! I'm so glad to hear!
I actually ended up having a different problem where a little piece of something somehow got stuck behind the nib in my pen, messing up the pressure sensitivity. Although it wasn't the same as your problem, your video definitely helped. I could not figure out how to disassemble the pen until watching this. Thanks!
Oh that's awesome to hear! Yeah opening up the pen seems impossible at first but once you do it once, it's super easy. Glad it helped!
I can't thank you enough for sharing this technical solution. It saved me so much trouble and finances. Thank you!
You're welcome alsouris! I'm glad it helped!
Thank you so much♥️! I got it soldered at a phone repair shop and it's working now! Was thinking about how much I'd have spent getting a new one
That's great oghog! I'm glad it helped!
Thank you so much. I was worried that I would need to purchase a new pen but this worked perfectly. It turns out that one of the wires was loose like you said. Once I managed to fix it at 2 in the morning lol it worked.
Yeah no worries! I'm so glad it worked! Haha lol some late night DIY to make it all the more sweet!
Men you saved my life. THANK YOU Russell for sharing, have a great day :)
Haha no worries David! I'm glad it helped!
Thank you so much. Worked for me as well. If only more people would see this video. Many pen problems would just disappear in dust. XD
I don't know why Huion connects the wires so thin.
You're welcome Suzu! I'm glad it helped!
Dude, that makeshift soldering idea was great. Hell yeah.
Haha thanks man! Can't believe it worked haha.
Thank you!!! My Huion pen had the same problem and has now been fixed.
You're welcome! I'm glad it worked for you!
wow. I can't believe how this pen is so vulnerable to fall yet huion didn't even give it any proper means of dissasembling aside from forcing it open by pressure. thanks for this video and instruction, it worked. I just hope HUION will make their pens more durable in the future.
Yeah so easy for it to fail, seems like a common problem unfortunately but I guess the good thing is it's relatively easy to fix!
@@RussellMidfield it wasn't that very easy though. Many will struggle trying to disassemble it.
It's true, have to be persistent.
Thanks, my art student daughter was distraught as she had an assignment to finish and her pen stopped working. Got it fixed in no time at all because of this video.
That's great, glad to hear it helped Dan!
you saved my career, THANK YOU!!!!
Haha I'm happy it helped! You're welcome!
A little tips to separate the pen faster : apply some heat to the joint with a hairdryer, use the highest setting for 30 sec to a minute to melt the glue. I successfully opened it a minute later!
Oh yeah good idea, thanks rani!
I have my tablet back, I just straight up love you
Haha I'm glad it helped!
Thank you! I managed to solder it back with your instructions!
Yeah no worries Tamara! That's awesome, I'm glad it worked!
Thanks bro, you save me, I'm from Mexico and I really want to say you how usefull was your video, thank you so much!!!
You're welcome AJJ! Im glad it helped you out!
Thank you so much dude you save me. my pen wasn't working yesterday and i thought i had the same issue as yours. i dissamble the pen and there was water around the wires and inside the nib plug. Turned out my niece dipped the pen in the fish tank. I dried it well it's working like normal now.
Nice! Yeah no worries, I'm glad it helped!
I used a soldering iron for the first time ever to fix my stylus. TYSM for this tutorial.
That's awesome SillyEwe! It's a good skill to have! I'm glad you fixed it!
@@RussellMidfield Thank you. I might look into getting a kit to learn some more on. My sights are set on an FM radio for emergency purposes.
Oh that's a good idea!
If you dive deeper into sewing, you can create a lot of things for much cheaper.
bought a kit for 18 bucks and fixed it, amazing. Going to hold that pen like a baby from now on.
That's crazy to hear this issue is still popping up, disappointing! I'm glad to hear it's been resolved for you though! Happy doodling!
How to fix when pen pressure doesn't go up and down. Accidentally it was dropped and the pressure stops working.
And You deserve much more subscribers and you have mine.
Thanks man! I appreciate it! Oh no, so the wire is still attached but the pressure doesn't work?
@@RussellMidfield Everything thing is working fine only the pen nib was not going up and down and that was causing it to write in same thickness. But after some time I simply did this hack by dropping the pen from about 5 to 6 cm vertically and the pressure was working. It was like Banging the TV until signal come, but gently.😅
Also, I don't know if it comes under your category can you make Videos on how to make models of molecules in Chemistry. I have seen some of the simulation which has been made on Blender. I wonder how it's done. Thanks your time.
Haha lol! Thats an awesome technique! Haha 😂
Oh interesting, I haven't done anything like that before but I'll give it a try!

Year no worries, glad it helped!
although i couldn't do the solder by myself, this was super helpful to actually find the problem! I'm using a Inspiroy h950p and had the exact same issue, same wire too. I'ts an old tablet but living outside of the US means even a replacement pen for an old model would be pretty expensive for me.
Thanks a lot for this video!
That's so nice to hear! Yeah replacement pen is pretty expensive it's true. I'm glad this helped!
Thank you so much for this! All I had to do was take my pen apart, and it seemed to fix itself!

Thanks dude, this allowed me to take the internals OUT and put them in a pen holder that is smaller and feels more like a traditional tool. With a small display tablet i have the original stylus is so unwieldy to me and just gets in the way.
before anyone asks, yes i lose access to my 2 buttons but i never used them anyways.

I decided to take my pen apart because I already purchased a new one and I already don't have a warranty. I wanted to see if this one was just dirty. It started making my fingers tingle and now it doesn't work at all so I think its officially broken. My wires where intact but the right one looked a little off, but I couldn't really see.
Interesting, well it's good you waited until you had a replacement haha, taking the pen apart can definitely be risky!
Bro... You're my hero! Thank you so much!

Did you use soldering wire for this? mines wire was too short to connect
No I didn't, I don't have any on hand right now, I just made use of the solder that was already there, it was enough that I could make the connection again, although just barely.
@@RussellMidfield should i use a soldering wire?? would it be the same result??
If you have it, then yes, use soldering wire.
Thank you sooo much ! I had the EXACT same problem with a PW500 Pro !!
Yeah no worries bowzer! I'm glad it helped!
I hope Huion is gonna reinforce the EMR wires that is fixable in case of dropping off a Huion pen a bit hard.
Yeah it's true, the soldering seems a little weak.

"Huion pen fell from a high place"
That's how my pen died 😔
Haha yeah me too! But you can fix it!
In my case, when I droped my pen, the ferrite core inside the coil (a long black cylinder) was broken in two, and I simply glued it back with super glue. Be carreful, do not put too much super glue, just a bit!
Oh wow that's interesting! Thanks for sharing that!
Did it work properly? I have the same problem. Like when I try to draw, even if I’m not applying any pressure the pen just clicks everything. I opened the pen and the ferrite core was broken into two, I just gave up and build the pen again. But for you it worked to add glue?
Try the glue! There's nothing to lose at this point!
