People I have lived in Toronto for 20 years and moved to Kelowna last year. I can say the -40c freeze spells, frozen blizzard and ice storms, stuffy mean people, over crowded and lack of activities made Kelowna the best choice for me and my family. Its the perfect slice of heaven in Canada. Best place to raise your kids, and stay healthy to boot. Cheers and Viva Kelowna! #lovekelowna

Great video. Love it. Moved to Kelowna a month ago.
Small note on the video: Given it's all about the story the person is telling, its worth (also for the visually impaired) to add a closing statement in the speech to end with a small pause, and "Kelowna". Then those not looking at the video, perhaps hearing it from the kitchen etc, actually know which city it's talking about. Currently you can only figure out if you watch the end of the video. But I get that in general, the unspoken words on the video at the end showing "Kelowna" has a great impact / effect. It's just maybe worth catering a bit more for visually impaired/if your not in the room, and hearing just the "advert" and missing that its even to do with Kelowna, as that word is not mentioned at all in the audio :)

Many people (like Rowan) have been spoiled by living here.. I grew up back east - the "rain, snow and freaking cold snap" we supposedly had were nothing! Rain? Try St. John's Newfoundland... THAT'S rain! Snow? Try back east or up north and 'freaking cold" ??? where was it? lol... I haven't even worn my winter coat yet! Kelowna is the best!!!!! I feel blessed to live here!

+Kirk Spock What rain? Kelowna gets 12 inches of rain per year, and 15 inches of total precipitation year round. Winters are the cloudiest in all of Canada outside Newfoundland, though. That's because the lake doesn't freeze, so when colder air blows over the warmer lake waters, it forms a very thick low cloud all over the valley that is referred to locally as valley cloud. It can persist for months with very few breaks of sunshine - November through February at least, and sometimes a bit earlier/later too.

I have lived and worked in B.C., Nova Scotia and Quebec - ALL have their good points - but B. C. is the best - we have Tundra, Taiga, Rain Forests, Deserts, the Pacific Ocean - and zillions of lovely lakes & streams, natural Hot springs - and our beautiful, towering, protective Rockies! I grew up here - so coming home is always best!

At 16s, that huge wall of stone looks a lot like Myra Canyon if you were following the water up the mountain. The entrance is off of Canyon Falls Ct near Westridge Drive and takes about 10-15 mins to get to the water. You can follow a trail along or hop along the rocks above the water if it's low enough for a good hour or so. Unfortunately, that area has been recently closed off due to unstable ground. :(

@@davidtoro4218 Yes if you are comparing it to other countries the crime rate is very low. The crime in the Okanagan would be more property crime like stealing cars and propery around your house. We will have the occasional shooting but this is very rare but it does happen.

Great weather is all relative. Compared to the rest of Canada it is the only semi-arrid desert which is why wine grows so well here. We get very little snow, mild winters and not much rain. We do get a lot of low cloud in the winter which can be depressing but you just go up to the ski hill which is 30 minutes away above the clouds:)
