Eric and Ally, you guys are really transparent. I hope that you guys would find ways to make online income that can be scaled, such as selling physical products. Freelance is a good first step
It is the first time I have seen any traveller open up their accounts and shown the reality of life. Thank you for the great content. I have travelled a lot but not full time as we have kids/family etc. Planning on increasing the travel time as the kids are now grown up :)
I’ve watched your videos a while back when we were planning our Spain trip! Now I am a subscriber! I love to travel and would love to do what you guys do with two kids! So nice of you do go this personal and real with your finances and being honest and straightforward 🙏🏻
Very interesting to learn how you budget things. And you're making it so easy and entertaining to watch. You are such a sweet and inspiring couple. Blessings on their way wherever you are. Greetings from Paris France.
The only thing that comes to my mind is the music you used in your vlogs. They are all the same. You can simply use different music tracks for your videos.
Hmm that's interesting, they are usually different but I do sometimes need to reuse tracks because I don't have internet to download new ones 😭 I'll try to keep switching it up!
Looking back through the old videos came across this gem. Great transparency with the income with less than 1000 subs. It would be cool to see an update today and comparison with over 425k subs.
I’m sure that must if mentioned in one of your videos, but what exactly do you both do for a living, what are your jobs? What your both doing is fantastic and I love seeing where you go and what you see. It’s better than watching the travel channel😂 Any idea on when you’ll be returning to the uk?
For seabands to work you need them closer to yr hand. Measure 2finger widths from where wrist joins hand and place the button on the 2nd finger point. Its an accupressure point so they wont work if you place them further away. Hope this helps x love yr videos
You should do sock curls that way you don’t need to carry a curling iron or anything like that. I think bouncy curls would look fabulous and effortless ❤️
Thanks for being so transparent about your finances. It's interesting to see how other full time travellers manage the budgeting side of things. Corrupted files and broken hard drives are our nightmare 😱 Hope you didn't lose too much.
Yeah we weren't sure exactly how it would play out when we started but so far we've managed to make it work! Really need to work on controlling our spending though :o
I know this is an older video, but have you ever considered using mint.com to track your finances? It'll save you the trouble of having to manually update it in excel because you can link in all your bank and credit accounts, set budgets, and view your debt to income ratio. It might make this aspect of your life a little easier to track, freeing up more time for planning your travels. Thanks for making such beautiful videos!
Nice didn't have those snazzy new streetcars when I was there studying music at the Conservatoire in the summers of '74 and '78. And the air was really polluted, with all those little mopeds, spewing out black, choking smoke. Nice looks really "nice" now.
Thanks for being so transparent with your finances. It helps to know that a couple can travel without having lots of money. You've inspired us to travel and possibly live abroad once we're done with grad school. We've been looking into the working holiday visas before we turn 30 (not much time left). Can't believe you guys were making over 100k before this and quit your jobs! We don't have well-paying jobs at the moment, so that means there's less to tie us down. Just curious: any debt? I know you mentioned selling everything. We own a house so could sell it to pay off our student loans.
Glad it's helpful! Yeah it has been crazy going from making more than enough money to never making quite enough 😂 but we've managed to make it work so far! We don't really have any debt, other than our CC we use for daily stuff, but we typically keep that paid off each month 👍🏻 Let us know if you have another questions at all!!
if those are the wrist bands with a knob on each that presses your wrist, i have used on both planes and water, and they work well there. as a child, i always got sick in cars, but as an adult have been able to use front seats, meaning i don't have that problem any more ☺.
So I know this video is old, but I started watching you guys from the start. I'm curious on your graph there what category all your flights, buses, ubers, transportation costs fall into. I was thinking that would be one of the most expensive parts of full time travel but didn't see it mentioned. Just curious.
really interesting looking at those figures dudes! Makes me wanna make some kinda video like to too, we might have to steal your idea :P I dont even remember the last time we ate out/bought a drink in a bar hahaha! it would probably be a good few months ago...
Hah yeah I wish we didn't eat out so much but we just don't have the self control! Feel free to steal the idea :D Excited to see your guys' take on the financial stuff!
Hey! Started watching your food and travel vlogs lately and i absolutely love them. Just found out from a previous video that you too quit your jobs. Me as a college student, just wanted to know what kind of freelance work do you do, Eric?
Ya, it's definitely not ideal... We're hoping to drop some stuff off with our family in the next couple weeks so we can slim down to just one. Hopefully all of our backs will feel much better soon 😊
Please don't cut down your eating out budget as I love your food reactions. Have you ever looked into negotiating food and accommodation with the hotels and restaurants as you are doing such good PR for them as you make all of your viewers want to try them or is that not a route you would like to take?
Why dont you guys put reflinks in your desciption, make a donate link, so your fans are able to give you a little like payment for your great videos, put advertisement in front and with long videos in the middle of your video and maybe also a few product placements. So your Adventure would kind of pay for itself. Another point is that you could try do find a sponsor that kind of pays for a good part of your trip and for that you would just be using their bags or whatever. I don't know much about that topic but I think you guys can get a good amount of money from that.
Hostels just aren't very couple friendly (shared room, single beds) and with two people, they're actually not that much cheaper! We did actually stay in our first hostel this weekend though 👍
Yes! We actually met the friend we stayed with (simon) through couchsurfing. We used to host people years ago when we lived in San Francisco. The biggest downsides are it's too competitive (since it's free) and we need more space than just someone's living room (at least a private room). We have considered doing housesitting though, but that's also very competitive and it's hard to work it into our travel plans. Not counting it out though!
I think every vacation we go on, we always have intend to Couchsurf but then we usually end up getting an Airbnb. Airbnb's are a lot more convenient as far as public transportation goes. Plus I might be getting too old to sleep on someone's living room floor.
And then you could die at 40? If you want to travel now, then now is the time to do it! You never know what is around the corner so if there is something you want to do, then there is no point in waiting around :)
So. You have 1700 to your name. And travel the world putting every thing on a credit card. Buying pretty much every meal out. And people wonder why people say millennials can’t afford to buy a house. I get wanting to travel young but at this rate you’ll never be able to retire young. I don’t get the logic?
Average house price in my area is almost 20x my salary. What was the ratio when you bought yours? Young people just give up and I can't blame them. Better to enjoy your life now than spend the whole of it worrying about mortgage.
Live and let live. Just because it’s not for you doesn’t mean they can’t live how they please. Home ownership isn’t everyone’s goal. This couple prioritizes travel and life experiences over material possessions. You like the security of owning a home and having a life grounded in your locale. Relax and let go bud.
Eric and Ally, you guys are really transparent. I hope that you guys would find ways to make online income that can be scaled, such as selling physical products. Freelance is a good first step
Thanks, yep, still working on it!

I left the Game of Thrones and just watching your videos for 4 hours. Be proud of yourselves! :D
4 hours, wow! Let us know if you have any feedback or input for us :D
This could be a critique based on "style". My brother thinks all my vlog music is the same, if it's that Casey Neistat, upbeat hip-hop style.

Rock on, thanks for all the interesting and informative details!

Corrupted files and broken hard drives are our nightmare 😱 Hope you didn't lose too much.
That's Amazing, You guys are doing stuff which people only dream of. Remember, whenever you're in India, you've got my place and a guide too!
Thanks so much. We just might take you up on that when we get over to India!
very interesting i love your videos and travel inspiration
Loved this video man...so cool how your finances work and how you've managed to do what you do accordingly
Yeah we weren't sure exactly how it would play out when we started but so far we've managed to make it work! Really need to work on controlling our spending though :o
Nice video! Looks like you guys are having so much fun!
Yep, was a really crazy but fun day
I really admire how you guys handled financial stuff really well and in a very positive way.

Ya, they seemed to work pretty well! Dramamine is great, but it makes us too sleepy. The front seat is definitely our best friend nowadays 😊

Losing Go-Pros on busses doesn't help neither😂😂😘

you should take a bus to moncaco or cannes if you have time to spare :)
Yeah we really wanted to take a bus to Monaco but we didn't have time! Next time though :D
All will be okay

Ah you're already doing that, nvm then haha
Why not look into hostels for cheap housing?
Hostels just aren't very couple friendly (shared room, single beds) and with two people, they're actually not that much cheaper! We did actually stay in our first hostel this weekend though 👍
how do you guys find housing?
John Joshua stay with friends and family for free
I'd love to know what they do? I think they work in digital marketing? I would hire them
Some places don’t take USA cards???
I would love to know what kind of freelance work Eric does.
I like #ebags. Free ad for them on your channel. Their products are pricey still have good quality
Isn’t it hard to travel with that much money?
Have you guys considered couch surfing?
Yes! We actually met the friend we stayed with (simon) through couchsurfing. We used to host people years ago when we lived in San Francisco.
The biggest downsides are it's too competitive (since it's free) and we need more space than just someone's living room (at least a private room).

hah yep, same here :D
6hours in star bucks?
👍👍👍
Does your wife work?
i guess that was a kale.
I like your style. Very 'Casey Neistatty'.
Thanks, Sam!
28 grand on a credit card? blimey
$28k isn’t what they’ve charged - it’s their max allowed on the card. They’ve only charged $900
Have a steady job, have kids, travel during the holidays, put kids through college, retire at 60, then travel full-time.
And then you could die at 40? If you want to travel now, then now is the time to do it! You never know what is around the corner so if there is something you want to do, then there is no point in waiting around :)
