- Be liberated from the laptop as Pioneer DJ launches the XDJ-RX: the rekordbox™ DJ system with the perfect marriage of the CDJ platter, a high-performance mixer and a central, full-colour screen featuring dual waveform display. The XDJ-RX inherits much of its DNA from Pioneer DJ’s top-flight NXS line-up, adds pad control with the all-new Loop Slice, USB recording, and loads rekordbox™ tracks directly from a USB key - making it an all-in-one dream for digital DJs.
The XDJ-RX is Pioneer DJ’s first product to feature a single LCD screen that displays information from both players simultaneously, including dual waveform display, playback position, BPM and beat grids. DJs can quickly browse and select tracks using the large dial and Load buttons. The two CDJ-style platters have a familiar club-standard layout and give DJs instant access to pro-DJ performance features including Beat Sync, Slip Mode and Quantized cues and loops. Pads add a physical element, with instant access to Hot Cues and Auto Beat Loops - or DJs can choose to slice loops on-the-fly with the new Loop Slice function.
The unit’s mixer boasts four high-quality Sound Colour FX and eight Beat FX, including the DJM-900NXS’s hugely popular Spiral. With two MIC inputs, a LAN port and an array of quality IN/OUT connections, the XDJ-RX can be used as a stand-alone two-channel mixer. Plus two USB ports means DJs can use both for playback whilst recording their performances to one of the USB devices at the same time.

От Pioneer на 20 лет ждал большего , не скрою... однако имея такие разработки,технологии и статистические знания о потребностях потенциальных клиентов зачем им давать больше??? Они и так схавают все на ура... а через год можно продать еще... МОЛОДЦЫ!!! Кстати! Хочу отметить что за 25 лет работы в клубах я был доволен звучанием только cdj-500! Это единственный аппарат который выдавал звук с CD таким, каким его записали авторы ... Хоть в работе мной и любим был 1000 mk3, но звук пятисотки остался ближе сердцу!!!

Just got one the other day! What can i say! Pioneer you finally nailed! Its just perfect for my needs. Jus glad that i didn't have to spend fortune for cdj 2000 and djm 900.
A DDJ-SZ with that built in screen is exactly what you need. A top of the range controller but without the need for a laptop. When Pioneer eventually bring out a 4 channel version of this, then I'll be somewhat interested in buying
The Stanton SCJ4.DJ was the first to implement the DJ software inside the controller. It is a great idea and I have one which it never failed me. But I must say that I'm totally impressed with this Pioneer with all of it's functions (some borrowed from the flagship Nexus series) and especially with the larger screen. I'm sold and I shall have one when it hit's the market next month.

You should have added one more internal processing unit and embedded the rekordbox software as an OS for the system so that any track could be analysed on the fly in a live situation eliminating the need for any laptop whatsoever. Now that would be true all-in-one! That being said, this is an awesome step forward in the right direction.

Like i predicted last year already.
Now pls work together with Serato and rekordbox on this product!!
Features we would like to have:
-switchable between rekordbox and Serato
- full CDJ2000 nexus functions and sized platters
- send / return to connect the RMX series
- 4 deck option with the ability to connect additional 2 x CDJ 2000 or switchable like the DDJ SZ
- off course 4 deck mixer with all DJM 900 nexus functions
- Fader start
- SATA slots to insert 2 SSD drives via SATA (at least 1)
- adjustable (color) fx options which we can buy and add via iZotope
- all of them post fader fx
- needle search
- at least 1 USB port to connect 1 laptop or iPad
- touchscreen
- selector and load button for each deck
People don't need to bring their laptop and Serato equipment but put everything on USB or SSD.
And BTW, please find a solution to import Serato cue points into rekordbox!!

why cant you build an all in one controller, like top of the line flagship.
SZ with 2 built in touch monitors above the decks like the XDJ-1000s have. Stop these middle line controllers that have random features all thrown in.

they could easily do this but then they wouldnt have anywhere to go controller wise, it would be the top of the line best in the market controller, then we'd have to wait on a new technology to then progress controllers.
REDSQ MUSIC the prob is actually that the controller needs a whole built-in computer to run the software which makes it impossible to buy for the normal people. so they've probably decided to make it all run on your computer for that reason.

I feel this is a step backwards because of the 2 channel mixer. Also my main problem is that I have the CDJ 2000s at my home studios and certain clubs are still using CDJ 800s and 1000s, you need to provide clubs and bars the ability to upgrade their equipment, at the moment most Bar and Club owners are confused as to what equipment they need to buy because every other day there is a new product on the market and they don't want to make a huge investment only 2 weeks later find that there is a newer version on the market. I know times have changed but you need to make it clear who each product is aimed for, for me its easy to distinguish, I mean this is clearly aimed at the starter market, its an all in one solution for younger djs or experienced CD and Vinyl Djs looking to move into the new Generation but don't want to use a controller linked to their laptop, I get it. I bet right now that an XDJ-RZ is already in the works, but will cost more than the RX.
They did a similar thing when they released the SX and received similar comments. Eventually, the SB and SZ came out.
They do this for two reasons:
1) More products = potentially more sales = potentially more profit
2) Not everyone can afford a $2000+ flagship controller like an SZ or supposed RZ

Controller looks like a just a toy for bedroom djs or wedding djs. After the sell of dj division I think every new equipment will now sport new "Pioneer DJ" logo.
Love Pioneer equipment. I just wish they would do something (like they used to with the MEP-7000) for us mobile operators requiring a 19" rack mount form factor.
Now this is what we've been asking for...a controller that works minus a laptop...getting one of these and getting rid of the SX1...i know HID will be out asap via Serato DJ...this is a killer system for the Mobile DJ/Small Club/Bar...this is the future...now bring out the Nexus...was gonna buy a RANE 64 but this costs the same and offers way more for me as a Mobile DJ

I don't mind CD's and the full functionality of certain products, but laptop dj's with mp3's and autosync are something that I don't find impressive.
I'll admit, my opinion is biased because I learned on vinyl and it's still my preferred method of choice. So, whatever feels good.

Buy this today, dual screen model comes out tomorrow, usually pioneer drip feed features always missing something!
Looking at the pattern where Pioneer DJ is heading, (SX) - SX2 then SZ. Now came the RX maybe the "RZ "soon, with the same (SZ) CDJ jogwheels with 4 channels mixer, more beat FX, maybe have dual screen or still single but touch screen already, needle search and slightly higher priced than SZ. Making them very competitive both in controller segment and complete DJ solution package market, like how they perform so well with Club DJ equipment in the last decade...:) still cost effective at the end.

It looks interesting, but so did the R1. Lets hope Pioneer has learned from the R1. I will check it out as soon as I can get my hands on one. A touchscreen for browsing music files would have been perfect for me, I am also curious if the casing is made of metal or plastic?
I think this unit is perfect for at home, maybe a mobile Dj, but not for in a club.
Will I be able to stream to a website by connecting the xdj-rx to my laptop?
I would love to have one of those and learn how to DJ as a beginner.

Its is price at USD 1,499 officially at pioneer US site instead of the rumored USD 1,999, it would be too much to compare it with the SZ based on the hardware-built point of view. SZ are more superior in materials used, still this is worth more a $1000+ unit. A good upgrade from the R1 model.

+Max16032 when you compare it to the cost of pioneer's other offerings though it's quite a great deal. A cdj 2000 nexus setup with a mixer is like $6000 at least. this is 1500 for everything you could possibly need if you don't need more than 2 channels
BHFFS with 1500 you could buy ddj rz or ddj rx and they are million times better

These are basically mini, stripped down versions of CDJ 2000 nexus + a DJM mixer......
Would it be worthwhile using this to practise on/record mixes at home and then use the 2000s (What pretty much all clubs have) for live performances? Or should I invest in a proper CDJ/DJM setup so I'm more comfortable when I play live?

DJ Jun eh, it really depends on what you mean by "better". I really enjoy Pioneer's effort to make a controller that is supported strictly from Rekordbox and the results have really impressed me. This one really impressed me by it's sleek and classic look that resembles the image of the CDJ series. This controller also provides a very simple, but not overwhelming, integrated mixer unit that doesn't sacrifice creativity. With the Rekordbox software, this controller helps to remove the need for additional hardware because let's face it, having your face stuck in the screen of a laptop is annoying and portrays the DJ with a lack of creativity and credibility of understanding the music. With the Rekordbox LED monitoring screen, this cuts that out completely and forces DJs to use the screen as a crutch or not at all. I remember one of Pioneer's competitors coming out with a product similar to this but, the future of DJing doesn't disregard the jog-wheel units. I'll have to agree with Zmist Music that the DDJ-SX2 is actually quite massive and has (too many) features that you wouldn't necessarily need to practice with in your bedroom, but I don't speak for every DJ.
Tucker Mathis yeah you got the point but i need 4 channel mixer. Actually I would also prefer this but i just need 4. There's always pros and cons on every controller. Well, see which one suits you the best! Definitely not hating on XDJ-RX ;)

The ultimate controller would be the DDJ SZ, with more versatile FX like on a DJM 900, USB compatibility, and two Screens for waveform display. It would make the perfect controller, but I guess then, Pinoeer's CDJ and DJM sales would plummet...

Instead of getting a sound card for my production, i can give my laptop output to xdj rx and put from deck 1/2 to line, then my xdj rx output to my monitors. Will it work as a regular sound card dealing with latency and glitches and all? because it has a 24bit sound card

I want to be booked at festivals but I know most of them don't book DJs that use controllers.

Hopefully the XDJ 2000 (or whatever they call it) Will have the regular cues, not the pads. I can see them working for the controller but not as much for a standalone XDJ.
The XDJ-1000 is released and there are no pads, same look as the CDJ but the CD slot isn't there anymore.

No more Pioneer gear for me. After spending a few thousand over the last few years I'm done. You need a customer loyalty program for the loyal customers to your company. We can't keep buying gear every six months.
Guess you didn't read the comment correctly. If Pioneer was repeat customer friendly they would give the customer the option to upgrade their gear with add ons instead of feeding their customers with this is their ultimate controller, when six months ago their claimed the prior release was the ultimate. Can someone please help me? I'm looking for an all-in-one set up like this, but I don't use Recordbox or a laptop. I just want something that I can put 2 USB sticks in and play from them. With a bigger size platter if possible. Can anyone help me? Lol. Ive had a cdj900 and cdj1000 for years but they have both bust recently :( not sure what to go for next.

this maybe a stupid ? but iam thinking about buying this because i am tired of having to carrying so many cd bags to do parties. now i already have a pair of cdj's but with this can you use a extenal hardrive with it without the laptop. i want to know can i just plug my external hardrive into one of the usb slot and play the music off the external. if i can do that then ill buy this thing in august. thanks

How can I use the search menu? With the bottom (like in cdj-900), or with touch part (like in cdj-2000)?

Buenas noches Pioneer Dj, se me esta presentando el siguiente problema con mi XDJ RX, en el deck derecho cargo la Canción y mas o menos a la mitad del track se me comienza nuevamente automáticamente, los Hot Cue de este deck tampoco me dejan marcar puntos de inicio de los track. adicional cuando cargo un track en cualquier deck, automáticamente se empieza y no me deja detenerla del Cue. saben por que se presenta esto?
espero me puedan ayudar ya que me esta perjudicando demasiado en mis sesiones.
