That was some scary storms you went through but you still need to keep working and every summer has some freaky weather the begins to in the State stars getting hot
I have a friend who started driving and started his trucking company at the same time. the two biggest problems are: insurance cost with less than 2 years of driving experience and having to wait 30 to 45 days to get paid. you can get paid quicker but it will cost you a few percent. you got to have enough money to carry yourself till the checks start coming in.
Next time you’re in El Paso, Texas stop by Rosas Cantina on west end of town. You can see Texas, New Mexico and the Mexican border from the front entrance. Some of the most delicious Mexican breakfast this side of the border. For good TexMex stop at the L&J Cafe for lunch. Plenty of parking even for a big rig w/53 foot trailer 😉
As a meteorology major at Mississippi State, I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, that was NOT a tornado. It was, from the looks of it, just rain, high winds and some dust mixed in. Nothing too bad.
I love your videos man 💯. I'm a chemist by profession, in year 2022 I'll be a qualified Doctor...But ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to be a truck driver. Rusty - has resurrected my love for trucking. I hope to someday pull a load for a 1000 miles...then that will be it.
I like your vids man! Im also a truckdriver in western europe so its nice too see de difference between Europe and the USA. About the boring stuff i feel u man! Maby we can talk sometimes and share our story's :D anyway good luck and keep it up!
4:00 Next time try to: "Que? Si, si yo soy el citizen!" 😉 13:43 Buy a "pre" EDL truck (end '90s Volvo 610). Restore it & go for owner/operator, OTR loads. OR .... do whatever you fancy & your family needs 😉. Побачимось bro, stay safe & healthy!! ✌️
i'm from Vietnam. Now there has many Cas Evo, Cas, Prostar 2nd export to Southern VN, it's perfect to long haul trucking from South to North border with China such as fruit in reefer trailer . I'm looking forward New Cas ;)
Your comment about men driving and the women sleeping made me laugh! I taught my husband how to drive when we were dating! Lol! I love to drive and I always have. I am going out to Salt Lake City, UT to get my CDL A next week on the 26th. I can’t wait! I’ve been a school bus driver for 18 years. I’m ready to get on the road! I love your videos!
Hey Rusty you're in my country when you get back to Georgia, imyan older dude of 73 now but I've been down all those roads when they were 2 Lane just wait till you get in one of those west Texas dust storms that cuts the paint down to the bare metal, it happen to me more than once, good travels bubba !
Fix and complete the Volvo and sell it. Take the profit and buy something cheaper which can be rebuilt a bit quicker. Obviously the unavailability of that missing cab is holding you back, dude. Best of luck!
That's the main problem with rebuilding a new truck. Is you're not going to find cheap available used parts like a cab in abundance. You're going to end up paying more for the parts because there is a limited selection available or you're going to have to wait on it
When I drove OTR, we got one day off for every seven out. So you’d run for 7 to 8 weeks then get 7 to 8 days off. Often the dispatcher would start pestering you after about three off.
I was told years ago from old timers, that a dirty truck means your so busy that you cannot wash the truck , a status symbol. It’s a Dust storm. Change your air filter when you get past the storm.
Could you sometime make a video of how you make the videos, showing the camera, how it is mounted and how you make the video for the web site. Thanks Enjoy your trips. Stay safe.
Sometimes I miss the open road. Whenever you pass I 10 and 610 in Houston give us a short time on your videos and say hello to all the container haulers.
Damn I didn't know that hurricanes could form over Illinois. That's crazy Well my bad you didn't mean to say Illinois. And missipissi, that's hilarious.
@8:21 Dude...any trucker today that is worth his salt has Audible.( have books read for you while you drive)I have all of Tom Clancy Jack Ryan books and it is a great way to kill time when radio and music get boring
Don't know if anyone commented yet, but it's pronounced Pay-cose. Keep the greasy side down, brother. Fire up the comedy channels on your Serius/XM satellite radio. That'll give you some variety...then audible books. That's what I had to do.
If you want to be owner operator try finding a truck with out the def dpf shit It can get expensive overtime You want to have a nice simple truck that’ll make you money and have no down time
build the volvo and go hauling you are doing the hard yards now might as well be doing it for yourself you are a good operator youll do fine take care out there
I can't make that desicion for You, but if it was me, i had at least been tempted to give her a quick try when she's done just to see what she was willing to deliver... but, The best truck is the one that will get Your work done.
Dust Storm in the desert. Clean your air filters now. Wash out the radiator with the car wash. Three weeks straight you are a driving machine. Making some money. You need to be a owner operator. You can drive that nice volvo they are pretty great trucks. But you could sell and buy a Peter Built. My father in law swears by Peter built He had the record for the most hours driven in Guinness World Records
Have you ever traveled on I-81 in Virginia? If not, it is the worst interstate ever. There are 3-5 crashes in 20 mile radius between Staunton, VA and Harrisonburg, VA
It’s Pecos 😂😂 not pacos 😂 you killed me when you said that, also since it was August they have some ugly storms in Pecos and you were unlucky and got caught in it.

If you spray cooking spray on the bumper and grill it will reflect a lot of the bugs and be a lot easier to clean off

"Pay-Cos" ... Ha Ha! Good old west Texas sandstorm. Been through many of them.

Be safe young man 🙋! Great driving too.
So that's why truckers are always looking down
Good to see you paying attention while drive. Phone playing videos on the dash while driving.
Great job, get home safe 👍🏾
thank you
This could be dust, but it can also be Hailfog, so hail reduces the temprature to the Dewpoint, so it creates fog
Haaa... You had just experienced sand-storm ... New Mexico one is worse. Love your VDO.
Can you get a peterbilt and make it look mean 😾

The dust storm happened cause you just got your truck washed
Have you ever traveled on I-81 in Virginia? If not, it is the worst interstate ever. There are 3-5 crashes in 20 mile radius between Staunton, VA and Harrisonburg, VA
Just a normal west texas dust storm. Also its pronunciation is pay cos or pay cas. Depends on where you are in Texas how it's pronounced.
There went the truck wash.
Is this your truck
dust storm
Pecos Texas is pronounced as pay cose. stay safe.
be a Owner Operator i would say , that Volvo would be a awesome nice truck to have and it looks really good , again i say Owner Operator
Thank you
Sell that shit!!!
How do you know about the weather before driving to your destination
It’s Pecos 😂😂 not pacos 😂 you killed me when you said that, also since it was August they have some ugly storms in Pecos and you were unlucky and got caught in it.
Its mississipi or misspissi that you mentioned at the 10:52th second, in the video ?
Fix the Volvo and lease it to a O/O. Keep your current job. To many headaches being a O/O.
YAY :D
Fix your truck and be owner/ operator and make your money for yourself and not for someone else 👍🏻.
