Been sick and isolated for a week now.. your videos have made me feel like I'm human again and back in my happy place. Greetings from Northern Ontario, appreciate you friend!
What a wolf! Always impressed at their size! What a great foothold setting method, can't argue with the results! Great video thanks again for taking us along.
You trappers are hardcore guys. I do a lot of hunting and ice fishing in cold conditions but you guys take it to the next level. Thanks for sharing with us!!
I always enjoy following the drag Marks left by a wolf in a trap. Very exciting! Nice wolf Brother. Some beautiful Marten as well. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
Some excellent fur on that trip! Beautiful wolf ! Way to go, saved some moose and deer for sure. No luck for me on my trap check today, wolves have been gone for nine days now. One set of mountain lion tracks, a small one. Good luck!
Hopefully there is! Lynx quota is filled and had to lift my leg holds due to the mild weather, cold front coming our way so I will re-set them and hopefully get lucky again, thanks Scott!
I don't mind at all, I was actually going to include it in a future video, I started off with just my cell phone, then got a GoPro hero 10, GoPro was a great camera but the battery life was terrible, I am now using the DJI Osmo 4 and everything is equal to the GoPro in my opinion except the battery life, not sure what GoPro is doing wrong but the DJI has 10 times the battery life, especially in cold weather, hope this helps, Thanks!
Exelente video te felicito por esa caza de animales hermosos que subes en tu canal me distraigo de lindo viendo tus videos gracias soy de Guatemala saludos
Nice dark front on that wolf, Its always interesting to see how guys put in their wolf sets I use wax paper under and over Some guys use nothing but the snow Good luck on more catches
The only way a lot of people like myself will get to see things like this is through people like you. Not much of that in south central Texas. Thanks for sharing and keeping the language clean.
Great videos, been watching daily and looking out for new ones. Learn something new every time. Havn't trapped for a few years now, slowly getting things ready for next season if all goes well. Not a big time trapper, usually head out when I have time and the fur I get I usually keep for myself, give them away and what not. Been wondering, what are those big drags that you use on some of your wolf traps? Stay safe, keep the vids coming:) Great content.
Another Great Video! Thanks for sharing Would you be willing or able to sell a few skulls and/or hides down to the states? I am down in New Mexico. Would love to add a wolf and lynx to my wall. We don't have the wolves and lynx you do, but still some decent trapping opportunities if you know where to look
There's some strict regulations on sending wolf hides over the border, the skulls I am not sure of but will look into it, good luck on your trapping Jayson!
New subscriber.Professional job from start to finish. Catch a female, pull the set. Never touch the ground when making a wolf set. Feet done properly.Hope you teaching trapper Ed in Alberta so kids can see how a pro does things. Pleasure watching things done right. Manitoba
I do have snares all over but can't set on the west side since that is the border of my line and that's where the wolves are coming from, caught one wolf in the snares then they avoided the tree line on my side so I went to leg holds, thanks for watching Tim!
I had bought on for my wife so I'll be using that one this season, it has the 600 ace engine, and only since I can't get a new skandic until march apparently, definitely going back to the skandic, not that this expedition sport isn't good, but once I got used to the low range on the skandic, it's the way to go for my style of trapping.
Minnesota Rancher. Great video. Nice big wolf. If size matters, you should have let him fill up on bait first. He probably would have weighed 120! Keep it up!
It all depends on how early the snow is enough to sled around, last year I put over 2200kms on it but the winter before that I was around 1800kms. Thanks for watching Gary!
I have been very fortunate over the past few years with nice wolves, not the case with most trappers I talk too though, shoulder mite is pretty common.
@@whatido3021 I have 2 wolves rite now from the same pack one has short hair only on the shoulder but the back is decent not awesome thou & the other one tail is awful looking but the rest of him is decent but not furred awesome not sure if I should skin them hate to waste a hide
@@gkhuntertrapper2738Maybe check with some taxidermists, I've sold some in the past that were bad but the heads were still good enough for shoulder mounts. Just an Idea.
Placing a trap in a bag is the ONLY way to go up in the cold and snow ....I've been using the white plastic disposable bags you usta get your groceries in and produce bags I get from Safeway for years ...I saw in your last video you said you are using biodegradable bags, my concern would be(because they break down) that they absorb moisture ?? ... I use drags very similar to the one you use in that first set ..... the wolves never get far in them .... good stuff
Fist time using the bags but I lift my traps when the weather gets mild so I am not too worried about moisture, more less to keep them from freezing solid or the pan not moving, good point though, I've always used screens or wax paper in the past and figured I'd give it a try, thanks Dean!
I don’t know whether you have showed us before or not but I can’t seem to find anybody that has skinned a wolf and made a video of it. I know it takes quite a while to skin one properly but it’s worth watching. If you could do that for us sometime I would appreciate it. Stay safe God bless ✌️🇨🇦
I can only sell a green (un-processed) hide to a licensed fur buyer, although if I get them tanned, I can sell them to anyone. Thanks for watching Brad!

Another good one MR. Congrats on your fur
Thanks Glen!
If you don’t mind, I’m curious as to what type of camera you use for filming.

I just came across the channel a few weeks ago and really enjoy the content.

Great Videos! Do you ever check the stomach contents to see what there feeding on? Do you also use a .22 to dispatch them Thanks from Michigan
They are definitely feeding on deer and moose around here, I use a 22 for dispatch. Thanks Chuck!
@@whatido3021 Thanks for the quick response! Good luck on the Line
Realy nice to see... Im a trapper and hunter myself, but in Sweden we can't do lynx and wolf like you do... Thanks for charing.
Thanks Andreas!
👍
С полем!!! Сколько миль дорога при проверке?
great videos can you do a short demo skinning a wolf, lynx or wolverine especially the ear, lip part for taxidermy thanks !
I'll try and throw one in if I can get another wolf, I got my Lynx quota so I am done with them for this year sadly.

Great checks . Surprised you don't set some snares around your foot hold area too ?

Are you getting a new expidition sport 600 ace this coming winter ?

Yes he could have for sure, thanks Dave!
Curious how you dispatch it without ruining the pelt?
My 22 makes a very minimal hole not even worth sewing up.
👍
Great Wolf sets!!! Great catch!! That would be scary going into that bush looking for a wolf!!! What’s legal to dispatch those up there?
Pretty well anything as long as it is human and quick.
How many km do you put on the 600ace in a normal winter
It all depends on how early the snow is enough to sled around, last year I put over 2200kms on it but the winter before that I was around 1800kms. Thanks for watching Gary!
How did you finish the wolf
I just use a 22LR, it's quick and doesn't damage the hide.
Nice wolf!
Thanks Dave!
What is your method of dispatching your wolves caught in legholds?
I use a 22
@@whatido3021 thanks, new trapper here love your videos, do you shoot them in the head then to minimize pelt damage/sewing?
@@traviswestwood6087 I shoot in the lungs, quick and clean, no sewing required with the 22.
Wicked 👊 good catches do you ever catch wolves often with mites or the mange ?
I have been very fortunate over the past few years with nice wolves, not the case with most trappers I talk too though, shoulder mite is pretty common.
