I’ve often wanted to make a GIF that sums up Deathmatch - one Doomguy shooting the SSG at another who’s just standing still and not even fighting back, but it keeps making a perfect Doomguy-shaped outline of bullet puffs *just* around him, almost like something out of Looney Tunes. It really does feel like that sometimes..
My soul hurts from that image.
In actual hell, this video is played on loop.
When your berserk punch doesnt kill a shotgunner or a rocket not one-shotting a pinky would be good additions
I almost vomited at the pistol and SSG inaccuracies. It feels so real.
* When a pinky takes more than 2-3 shotgun blasts.
* When you try to fire at a barrel or Arch-Vile, but auto-aim says "Fuck you" and shoots ANYTHING else first.
* When you KNOW a gibbable enemy's health is low, but berserk, BFG or Rocket doesn't gib them.
At 0:08, I was like: Is it me??
I was looking for this video for weeks and finally found it. I've looked at it 20 times already on repeat. There's so much nostalgia in those moments where as a player, you get blueballed by the game's RNG.

I have experienced just about most of it. It's painful to watch this because it has and will happen again!
Glad to see my Cyberdemon/Revenant death on Stardate there. It was excuisite. I barely lived through the red part and attempted to kill the Cyberdemon. What I hadn't noticed is that a few of the homing revenant rockets were still chasing me. And, well, they hit me. Why I didn't pick up the soulsphere, I'll never know.

What HUD was that during the cyberdemon fight?
I believe it's one of the PrBoom HUDs if I'm not mistaken. Since it's not my own clip, I don't know exactly what the hud_num CVAR it was :(
It was a custom prBoom+ HUD, yes. I use it because it's quite nifty!
