This was such an informative and simple video! Thank you, it takes such a long time to find out the necessary info to start with anything connected to jewellery, so this is so amazing on your side
I'm new to pouring. Every time I "pound" the clay into the mold, the clay "cracks" in certain places. It usually doesn't crack or split, where I was using the hammer. When I add more clay, it still happens. Is it possible I'm pounding too hard on the hammer? Thank you in advance.
I thought you may have mentioned a respirator. What type do you need? Is it just a particle mask or for Organic vapors? I am guessing that a Orca Torch will not get hot enough. May need to save the pennies.
Thanks so much for these tutorials! I’m also curious about the respirator, particularly for the borax/melting process.. I’ve looked through all your videos hoping I could work out which one you’re using 😅 any chance you could suggest some? Xx

How do you feel about using a melting furnace for melting the metal rather than a torch?
Where do you get your oxygen for the jewellers torch?
I used to get it from Bunnings. But now I use Power10 Gases :)

Hello amazing-teacher-of-sand-casting! Is that just a cookie sheet you use as a surface?
I'm using a non stick baking tray yes haha
What size is your oxygen tank, and how long does that last on average?
I have a medium sized cylinder. And it can last about a year. But it really depends on how much you use it. Casting makes the oxygen run out faster!
