Typho, not gonna lie, when I first heard this piece, I was just overcome with a feeling of complete serenity and joy - heck I still feel that, even after my umpteenth listen. Listening to this piece is truly a euphoric sensation, and it's so rich with detail and professionally produced that it just gets even better every time you listen to it! There's so much going on in this piece, that's both new to your arrangement and a throwback to the instrumental style of Mother 3 that it's hard to say it all, but I'll try! Hoo boy... okay, well, that intro is just fantastic, the way it comes in with a wintery gust of wind and those sustained strings holding out the note while that gorgeous piano trickles down at 0:14... and that tubular bell hit just resounds beautifully at 0:03, and a bit lighter at 0:11, just leaving a taste of what's to come. The thing that gets me the most, though, it the bass style here. It feels warm and perfectly reminiscent of the iconic bass used in Mother 3. I don't know if you've played the game or not, but as I mentioned before, the way you arranged and selected instruments for this sounds like you have a deep love for this game. Moving on, at 0:35, when the main melody comes in and the sleigh bells are brought in (with that unique rhythm, no less!) as the piano plays this charming and delicate winter melody is just fantastic. And my goodness, the chords in the strings sound so lush and pretty! It gives the listener a chance to experience the gentler side of this piece before it opens up at 1:15 with that awesome lead-in with the drums. And dude, the drums here are so, _so_ well-done. Whatever drum samples you used, you did a fantastic job both selecting and mixing them - not to mention the rhythms here have an uplifting drive that's (once again) fitting for the style of Mother 3's soundtrack. Speaking of which... HOLY HECK, when the brass and reeds come in at 1:22, it's just incredibly exhilarating. Truly. How do you have SO MUCH DENSITY in the music, and yet it sounds so clean and not overbearing. A snow-ton of precision work must have gone into balancing frequencies and volumes of all these different instruments, as well as arranging them in a way that sounds this full and robust. And honestly, of all the M3 nods, that part at 2:10 with the saxophone solo just takes the cake for me. That particular sample you used has, like, the exact quality as the iconic one used in the game. I know I keep making reference to this, but it's just incredible how you've managed to combine nostalgia and newness so adeptly here. And to wrap everything up, the song ends with that lingering sleigh bell, which just echoes out over the soundscape... a very effective way to bring down the energy and leave the listener with that initial feeling. Start to finish, this is just pristine. And that artwork! I love that you drew _that_ snowman from the game, and a beautiful recreation of the scene, but with a more melancholic and reflective color palette. The gradient in both the sky and cliffs is really well-done, and you've put so much life into a piece that's entirely monochrome. I can't even tell if its nose is orange, and I feel like my eyes are playing tricks on me right now, but either way, it works. Mad kudos to you for all the effort and care you put into all aspects of your videos. I don't know how you manage to do all this time after time, but keep it up, man. Your music and artwork are clearly catching the eyes and ears of UA-cam, and you'll go as far as your available time will take you. Never even watched a playthrough or heard much about it. So to hear that I did it such justice is just so nice to hear 🥹 and something I started a couple years ago was putting ambient sounds in my music. I found it very effective at adding, well, ambience and setting. It immediately brings you into the music and that’s why I’ve always been a sucker for ambience. And as u said for the drums. I’m a huge fan of the sound. Such punchy snares. I love percussion so finding the “perfect” sound for me is a must have for my work flow. Thank u 😎 I wanna talk about that bass real quick. I really liked the one I chose because it feels so warm and smooth. And it sounds wide and in ur ears. Which, I’ve always loved wide bass. It’s the best.
